Great presentation on Hebrews 9. So much clarification when reading in context. Your a great pastor brother thank you.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The one brother is right that T and C are not the same. A testament is of force after MEN are dead. The NT became of force after Jesus died. The OT (moral law) became of force after Adam died (spiritually) when he sinned. Without sin the law has no strength 1 Cor 15:56. When Adam died the law gained strength and became of force. Adam’s testament passed upon all men, for all have sinned (Rom 5:12). No one died when Israel received the Old C. The OT was already in force. God wrote it down and gave it to Israel with all of the civil and ceremonial laws. The OT is in the OC. The NT is in the NC. The NT and NC are established upon the same thing, the blood of Jesus. The T’s are for all mankind. The C’s are for Israel, Rom 9:4, Heb 8:8. The OC is a testament for Israel because breaking any one of those 600 some odd laws, not just the moral law that everyone is subject to, would put them under Adam’s testament. Even though almost certainly they were in Adam long before they would ever learn the law (Prov 24:9).
Testament and covenant are not the same. Testament on has one person who determines his will over his possessions. A covenant is an agreement between two parties. However the Testaments govern over any covenants made between them. OT started at Adam and Eve's fall and the Israel national covenant started at Mt. Sini within their covenant they also regulated how they were to observe the OT. Therefore the New Testament by nessity will reform all covenants made, wither it be the national covenant or the church covenant. In Acts 15 the early church made clear that the national covenant and the New Testament are not the same and Gentiles did not need to join Israel's covenant to be part of the body of Christ (Acts 21:25).
Heb 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the TESTAMENT which God hath enjoined unto you.
Exo 24:8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the COVENANT, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
@TheSpiritofProphecy1611 In Exodus 24:8 the emphasis is on the book of the covenant but in Hebrews 9:20 he is emphasizing the blood of the testament. This is why the word was changed in the qoute to show. In the context of Exodus they are placing the national covenant under their testament giving their covenant the force and power of the testament. This gave the Levites the right to mediate on behalf of Israel although the testament (greater worldwide will of God) was and is mediated by the greater Melchizedek priesthood.
I don’t agree with the dispensation list. I don’t agree with you either. There is no rupture. There is no such thing as not losing your salvation. Read your Bible.
