Love the honesty. When you go over the top praising kids and it's not genuine, it's meaningless. And it often leads to the child growing up with an inflated ego. I've seen lots of kids like that and it's sad because they often get humbled at some point and they genuinely don't know how to deal with it.

The women in my family are brutal.... I had an MRI last week to check on a tumour I have - it took 45 minutes. When I came out my mum said to me "you look like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards!". Charming. My grandmother was the same. They just say what comes into their heads. The man sitting next to my mum, who we'd been chatting to before appointment, gasped with shock lol. Thanks mum!!😂😢

Because most of the stuff they say is constructive criticism. ☠️🤣 My mother once told my friend all she could see was her giant tree trunk legs and immediately knew who she was/where she was. The GREATEST compliment ever was oh that one was actually wonderful darling. Absolutely fantastic. I didn't even fall asleep once. we make our parents watch our crappy plays for so long they finally start getting more excited to go again once you start performing in paying productions/professional productions. I feel guilty for all the out of tune monstrosities they were forced to go to for me growing up. My dad stopped attending when i was 10 because they dressed us all up in bikini's with fake leaves stuck all over them for a play based on the destiny's child survivor music video. He was too grossed out. I remember all the dads looking furious and all the mothers except mine bobbing along and smiling. The day after all of a sudden everyone was forced to apologise and thankfully the offending teachers were forced into leaving. They knew it was bad because they openly were saying before hand it couldn't be recorded because it could be seen by the police as child corn with a capital P. I was thankful my mother refused to let me wear it. But of course I still was kinda pissed at her at the time. Looking back it's SO gross 🤢 and I can see why our mothers were jaded by the time we were teenagers. 🤷♀️☠️🤣
