I just feel that Sam probably knows something shady was going on for years in this company, he tried to warn CEO, Jeremy Iron's character that with such a huge leverage, they were pushing to the limits, in terms of risk. Hence, CEO is afraid Sam might potentially testify against him to the board of directors or to SEC if the firm does not make out alive or attempt a management coup if it does. Still, he needs him to be on his side because he feels Sam is one of the few people he can trust in this firm, but even Sam has his own ethical limits that's been pushed to the max for years, Sam and Jeremy Iron CEO know each other for 30+ years. "You know I'm with the firm, not with you in this situation..."
So, I feel like it definitely could be $10m. total, cash, closed stocks + company stock and another $10m if they manage to liquidate everything toxic in that one day and not end up filing for Chapter 11 by the end of the year. "Sam, you are very important piece in this puzzle and I need you to be on my side... "
Nick Lubatinsky Yes, you definitely have a point. Non-cash bonuses are usually paid out during q1 next fiscal year so most people would stay at least till then. I also like the fact that these figures are conveyed through a simple piece of small paper note instead of through HR, tells you compensation policies and corporate governance don’t really apply to these guys and they are the real boss of this enterprise
I also think you are correct CEO knew about CDO situation hence he had to sacrifice head of internal audit (Moore’s character) to protect himself and rest of management.
When the music stops make sure you have a chair.
i love how the scene played out.
hated my brain focusing on "that toilet wall must smells good huh, tuld?"
And just right then Ryan Gosling walks in..
1:50 - iron meets ceramic, one is brittle, the other is ductile, and can bend and be reshaped with stress, leading to eventual success, depending on point of view
Multimillion dollar trading firm, doesn’t have dividers between stalls. Lol
@John Griffith Big guys from upstairs usually have their own private offices and bahtroom just for them, this is some larger toilette for normal people.
That’s because they have so many pissing contests on Wall Street.
Do you understand? - Spacey, DO YOU???? - Irons
one thing you can be assured of, is that kevin spacey will get all he can out of the 'boys on the floor'
Word is out. I'm hanging up.
1:18 look in his eyes... that's why he's a gread actor.
VOLUME control, man!
I wonder if that card had a premium gloss finish...
that subtle off white coloring, the tasteful thickness of it
I just want to know how ‘ Generous’ that check was.
Those bathroom tiles are super crooked
The smell of those bathrooms must be nice @1:51
The 60 traders under him got 2.7 million each , wonder how big that check was ?!
Probably around 10 to twenty.
If I had to guess a number it would be 10-15 million.
a regular company paper check with lots zero on it.
Stimulator7 it is implied by the last conversation between these two that the floor at the very least got the 93%, if not each individual. At minimum, each trader got the floor bonus of 1.3 million.
if the traders could make 2.7m im guessing his was around double. maybe a little over. remember ceo was worth a B. the highest paying jobs ive had, the guy directly above me got paid double.
What's with the shaky camera?
I guess the director thought it would add.... something?
Jeremy Irons looks like what Patrick Bateman would have turned into.
ANYONE ELSE NOT HEAR THIS CLIP UNTIL YOUR FREAKED OUT BY THE MUSIC AT THE END? (Have to shout so you can hear me)
Jermey Irons’ jacket…….a little continuity please.
Spacey used to making scenes in men’s rooms.
😯
Truck stops, out on the Interstate?
Yo, just buy a bidet
It's amazing the amount of money they make and yet Spacey tells him later in the movie that he needs the money.
It's a justification sam is telling himself, nothing more. It's a coping mechanism
1. it's a coping mechanism
2. like another quote from the movie, "you learn to spend what you have"
ALWAYS: Semper Fi
It was $250 best buy gift card. I would've been jumping
This was best scene in the movie, that moment when Sam hits a pointer with tissue, the only thing was celebrating.....Kevin Spacy is so good.....🤣🤣😝🤠🤠
Life is a number on a piece of paper...a fight for a knife in the mud
