Also, Allison flipping over that car gives me life.
+Katharine Smith pretty much anytime she risks her self-esteem gives me life. Not that her self-esteem shouldn't be high but hopefully you get what I'm saying.
this is INCREDIBLE!! YES
Dodie! :)
Dodieeee c:
DODIE YAAASSSSSSS
+doddleoddle THANKS!!! Love your covers :)
AAH DODIE ALLISON AND GABY IM
Oh look, a bunch of insecure dudes downvote a video minutes after it's posted because its title mentions sexism.
What a surprise. Do you people have an alarm or something set to wake you up when "sexism," "feminism," etc., appear in a video title?
Aaaaaand apparently they do, because the like/dislike ratio is now a much more reasonable 90-10, versus the 60-40 it was only 25 minutes ago.
Sexists and extremist-MRAs: shooting fast and shooting early.
+Antenox Oh and just so that we are clar, i downvoted this, cause buzzfeed is simply some of the dumbest shit i have ever noticed.
+EmiL3TageWach
*U seem to conclude alot from little little evidence...*
Actually it comes from a lot of evidence. This video is just one example of dozens if not hundreds.
But since I didn't document that evidence, I'm only making a personal conclusion, not a total one. I'm not going to try to convince you that you're wrong or that I'm right about what I've observed about MRA/sexist behavior. Just know that my personal opinion of the idiots who disliked this video was not formed because of their reaction to this video alone.
But hey, people like you often like to characterize the opinions of people like me as hastily formed even when they're not, right? :P
*Sry, just felt the need to throw some intollerant sexism back to you.*
How was I being intolerant or sexist?
I look forward to your backpedalling excuse.
*In case you dont have a mirror, feminists are also sexists ;)*
Nope, moderate feminists are egalitarians. Extremist feminists are sexists, but this video isn't extremist in the least. It's satirical, and on-point.
*Best regards from an egalitarian that laughs at your narrow understanding of the world.*
Sorry, you're not an egalitarian if you don't consider yourself a moderate feminist.
And, to be clear, you also can't be an egalitarian without being a moderate MRA, too, but that's why I specified extremist-MRAs in my original post.
+EmiL3TageWach You do realize this isn't buzzfeed right?
The like/dislike ratio is now 95-5.
Faith in humanity restored!
I'm a guy and I loved that they were making pointing out that women also need to wear heels. It's stupid and impractical.
+AutisticWeirdo Women everywhere thank you
+Field Day You're welcome. I just apologize that my grammar sometimes sucks.
+AutisticWeirdo I'm pretty sure we all watch buzzfeed here. lol
It's practical when it's a damper.
"Good grip... for a person." All of this was pure gold
This is weapons grade levels of satire.
+Elfos64 The bit about making the equation pass the becheadl (spelling) test - and then at the end she throws the joke away (brilliantly) with "My bf will be so proud!" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I bet almost no man watching this video got that joke.
AmberPlaster I'm a man, and I got the joke. I just didn't find it as funny as you apparently did.
Can this please be an actual movie?!
aggelos il. Well you're not invited to the party anyway.
+aggelos il. a fun one where there's not a single sausage in sight. Sigh, thats the dream
aggelos il. Oh, are you one of those sexists guys that hates independent women or something?
+Vicky Yellowstone An "independent woman" sounds like a nickname for a prostitute
+Vicky Yellowstone "Can this please be an actual movie?!"
Please no...
There are so many quotes from this that would make amazing shirts:
'What are heels?'
'I killed that spider all by myself.'
'Nice grip…for a person.'
'Can I buy some merchandise with your face on it?' (Also doubles as a great pick up line)
I don't get why so many men fuss over the sexism. I'm a guy myself, and these chicks are confident and funny. nothing beats confidence. subbing to jbu!
Confident in their ability to tarnish their names with basic bitch cringe, and funny in a so-bad-it's-good cringy way? Yeah!
When Allison rolled on that car I lost it HAHAHAA
The ending is so accurate "this film was written by a man, but he has three daughters so he gets it."
I'm only in the comments section to laugh at the male tears.
Get over yourself. You're not oppressed. xD I'm in the comments section to laugh at stupid, privileged Feminists like you.
+actualhumangirl you're damn right im crying, crying laughing! hilarious stuff
Why would be men tearing down? Didnt you get that the video is actually making fun of oversensitive feminists?
Oh you're blonde
I'm here for the female hysteria.
I remember when Feminist was a good thing.
Whats funny is that there is a male announcer.
+Josh Burcham Exactly!
Whats so hard to understand? They are poking fun at how everyone finds it ridiculous that there are females in a movie. Its called irony people.
This is effin' genius.
Hollywood, sticking a random "ethnic" person or women into a cast doesn't make you diverse. Equal, strong representation please!
You go gals. 999 more comments to go.
This is so brilliant! I would sincerely pay to watch this movie. I laughed so much through all of it!
+Paul Roth Hooray!
This is beautiful! I wish this would be a movie so I could collect all of the male tears that would be shed.
+Andrea S we'd need a bigger coffee mug.
Literally every second of this video is priceless.
I loved this, great job to everyone involved. I wonder how many heads would explode if this was made. Gaby and Allison are always awesome and it was nice to see Brittani in this.
That last scene is ROSE GOLD.
That's it, I'm starting the indie go go page. LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN, I NEED IT.
This is everything I've ever asked for in life thank you god
Hey everyone who loves this video!!!
SHARE IT...
make sure your friends who will love this, or start a conversation about this see it!!!!
+Field Day Loved every minute of it! That last line made me burst out laughing. 3 am, I woke up the kids .. ooops. Thank you! :D
i`m sorry, but is this going to be a real film and if so when does it come out?
"Nice grip... for a person." :D
I would LOVE to see Allison and Gaby act for 98 minutes straight.
loved the subtitles when Gabby was eating.
i would watch the shit out of this man
Does nobody here realize that this is satire? It's making fun of the fact that people think that to make up for sex imbalance (Like that in movies) you have to do it with intention, which ends up just looking silly and pointlessly self-aware.
Wow, interesting mocking trailer. Thank you Alison and Gaby for bringing introducing me to this channel 😊😊😊
I love Gaby stuffing her face with food the whole time. I bet it was her idea.
I'm so happy I stumbled upon this. "Stop asking for things; we just gave you this whole movie" - response: "with white stars" - LOL, felt that on a spiritual level. LOL
I lost it at "nice handshake.....for a a person."
I would do anything to see this as an entire movie.
I love how people are demanding representation, as if the film industry is some governmental power or that the cast is determined by some social worker. News flash, folks, movies are made by regular people who are writing stories based on what they know best. A person who is a white male is obviously best at writing from his point of view. How is he going to write accurate female or ethnic characters, if he has close to no experience being either? He's going to end up writing characters that represent what he thinks women are like, and chances are that he really doesn't know what that's like at all.
Here is my solution to those who demand more minority representation: make the movies yourself. If you're a strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man, then you obviously shouldn't need men to make movies for you. There are already more women and other minorities doing this, and that is most definitely a good thing, but I am tired of hearing so many people continue to complain about things they can change themselves.
+wii3willRule well they are addressing systemic gender (and racial) inequality. I don't think they are seriously criticizing male film makers because they don't understand what it's like to have menstruation. They are merely inspiring a laugh and raising awareness about the obvious gender inequality in the film industry. Overall there is a questionable situation when you have a more educated sector of the population (females achieve more college degrees than men) and ironically earn significantly less money.

www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/04/14/on-equal-pay-day-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-gender-pay-gap/
+dvsn23 "well they are addressing systemic gender (and racial) inequality."
But this is not "systematic". There is no "system" in place to keep minorities out of creating their own media. One example from the top of my head is Grey's Anatomy. It's a highly successful and popular show, and it was made by a black woman. If there was systematic discrimination, then I don't think a person who was both black and a woman would have been given the chance to create such a show.
"I don't think they are seriously criticizing male film makers because they don't understand what it's like to have menstruation."
I don't think menstruation is the defining feature of a woman, but whatever you say.
"They are merely inspiring a laugh and raising awareness about the obvious gender inequality in the film industry."
It's not inequality if the "oppressed" group has all of the opportunity to make it in the industry. Equality of opportunity is not the same as equality of outcome.
"Overall there is a questionable situation when you have a more educated sector of the population (females achieve more college degrees than men) and ironically earn significantly less money."
I don't know what this has to do with the film industry, but if you want to talk about this, then... alright.
But, it must have occurred to you that perhaps women are getting lower pay because those degrees they are earning aren't worth as much? The high paying degrees are usually in the STEM fields and women tend to gravitate towards liberal arts or other more stereotypically "womanly" degrees:
www.collegeatlas.org/top-degrees-by-gender.html
And plus, if you even read the Pew article you posted, the reasons for this gap are even explained:
"In spite of its narrowing, the gender pay gap persists. Why is this? In our survey, women were more likely to say they had taken career interruptions to care for their family. And research has shown that these types of interruptions can have an impact on long-term earnings. Roughly four-in-ten mothers say they have taken a significant amount of time off from work (39%) or reduced their work hours (42%) to care for a child or other family member. Roughly a quarter (27%) say they have quit work altogether to take care of these familial responsibilities. (Fewer men say the same. For example, just 24% of fathers say they have taken a significant amount of time off to care for a child or other family member.)
Even though women have increased their presence in higher-paying jobs traditionally dominated by men, such as professional and managerial positions, women as a whole continue to work in lower-paying occupations than men do."
It goes on to say that gender discrimination *may* be a factor. They're not even sure about it, for you to be making hasty generalizations about the pay gap in the first place.
wii3willRule systematic and systemic are not interchangeable. Feel free to take my commentary out of context as much as possible. But I can tell you didn't wait for an invitation :P Good day sir.
dvsn23 I must have misread, I apologize.
But my first point still stands anyway. There is only an inequality of outcome, not an inequality of opportunity, so I still fail to see any issue of note here.
Just because less of group x are represented in industry a, doesn't mean there is any issue of equality. For example, less men than women work in real estate. Does that mean that men are being discriminated against or that there is any issue of note when it comes to men in this particular industry? No, it only means that less men are interested in real estate than women. The same goes here. The lack of female representation is simply a reflection of the fact that less women, for whatever reason, choose to produce movies. This is, effectively, a non-issue that was not even worth making any satirical trailers about.
And since you haven't even tried to tackle my points on the pay gap and the fact that there is no inequality of note in the first place, I'll assume that you have conceded on those.
+wii3willRule Let me put it to you this way, I remember when I first saw the movie, Erin Brockovich, yes the movie is good, but it shouldn´t be a movie that a 12 year old finds that interesting. Years later I realized its because it was the first movie I saw were the actual HERO and protagonist was a woman. And the theme of the movie was not her looking for a man to complete her. It was just a woman, and her life, saving herself, saving others, and been completly unapologetic with her character, fashion style and choices. As a man you may have never noticed this. But women are HALF of the popuation, yet in hollywood movies where there is a female lead who is not looking for a man are less than 10%! Woman have stories to tell, they exist and they have been written, yet since its a male dominated industry, they would just pick other scripts. Things are changing, little by little and its great. But try to understand its a void that needs to be filled. How many more movies about a football team, and two male detectives, a male superhero, and man in the army, and the desperate woman looking for a man, because thats the nly way to be truly happy...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE THIS NEEDS TO EXIST ITS SO EMPOWERING AND ITS FUCKING GREAT
Yes! This is so good!!!
'Nice grip...for a person.' 😂😂😂
Men downvoting a video about sexism and telling Gaby and Allison that if they want change they should write a screenplay. Research people! They are actively advocating gender equality through their videos and they are actors and writers-they are doing exactly that. Typical narrow minded comments.
+Olivia Grace They are advocating gender equality where it already exists. That's the issue. Equality of opportunity is different from equality of outcome. Just because there are less of group x in industry a, doesn't mean that there is some equality issue at hand. For example, less men than women work in real estate. Does this mean that the real estate industry discriminates against men? No, it just means that less men *choose* to work in this industry.
It's the same thing with the film industry. Less women make films, so obviously the female point of view is going to be underrepresented, that is a given. This is not an equality issue so much as it is a sign that women are simply not interested in making movies as much as men are. There is little to no sexism involved. That's why so many of us seem to be up in arms against the message of this video-- the creators are misinformed.
+wii3willRule Mate I wouldn't even try. You've walked into the feminist space now. Facts and reason know no place here.
Matt Dreamer Haha, yeah, but it's still funny to watch feminists try to desperately hang on to their worldview.
But the point is that these 'ideas' about interests in jobs come from socialisation. We are brought up in a world where men are paid more in the film industry, and supposedly as you've said men have more interest in. It's about breaking the barrier and finding a way to show how there should be no typical view. It shouldn't be typical for a man to have more interest in the film industry as it is just enforcing that gender divide.
Also I'm not trying 'to desperately hang on to a worldview' it would appear you are by not accepting my opinion for gender equality which is what feminism is. I'm glad you bros can laugh at me though, with my lack of reason and interest in facts.
Olivia Grace "But the point is that these 'ideas' about interests in jobs come from socialisation."
Oh, the whole "tabula rasa" theory of human nature... you do know that it has been debunked, right? Men and women have different interests, and always have. Men generally love to deal with and create things, and women generally love to care for and deal with people. This is a gender difference that is observable in infancy:
www.math.kth.se/matstat/gru/godis/sex.pdf
Here is the abstract if the pdf won't open up:
"Sexual dimorphism in sociability has been documented in humans. The present study aimed to ascertain whether the sexual dimorphism is a result of biological or socio-cultural differences between the two sexes. 102 human neonates, who by definition have not yet been influenced by social and cultural factors, were tested to see if there was a difference in looking time at a face (social object) and a mobile (physical-mechanical object). Results showed that the male infants showed a stronger interest in the physical mechanical mobile while the female infants showed a stronger interest in the face. The results of this research clearly demonstrate that sex differences are in part biological in
origin."
"Also I'm not trying 'to desperately hang on to a worldview' it would appear you are by not accepting my opinion for gender equality which is what feminism is."
I don't accept your opinion because it's just that-- an opinion. You have yet to convince me that it has any basis in reality.
"What are heels?" -Hilarity!!!! This is the best thing I've ever seen! I want this movie to exist! It would be incredible and hilarious- I really want you to make it now! you guys are so amazing - thank you for existing:D
Nice to have a smart AND funny take on this. As a genders studies major, I can confirm, I have been waiting for this.
+Katharine Smith HAHA!
I WOULD PAY AN EMBARRASSING AMOUNT OF MONEY TO SEE THIS. Can I be invited to the premiere?
This was pretty funny.. Gaby's character was the best xD
So true it hurtsssss (great job!!)
+Rachel Kiley It's nice seeing you here, I'm in love with this video.
BRILLIANT! I'd gladly watch a feature length parody like this. Does Hollywood not yet know we are the majority?
Perhaps you should tell them... just in case
Majority population, but minority ticket buyers for that genre.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR 50 YEARS
Bloody brilliant. More power to you Alison and Gabby. Loved the trailer. Hope it becomes a full movie. I would definately pay for this.Great job.
I WANT THIS FILM TO EXIST!!!!!!!!!
This is a work of art and also men are apparently very sensitive.
And the sad part is that I have yet to see even ONE movie of this sort.
this was genius ladies I could not stop laughing!
I LOVE THIS. Also, your outfits are awesome. The costuming for this just overall is excellent!
Loved it so much! This has to be one of my favourites so far by the JBU girls
can guarantee this movie would be one of my favorites. what a great video
I would watch this movie so hard. This is hilarious. And true. Much needed.
I dig it, it was necessarily on the nose with all the annoying cinema tropes for women: chase scenes with women shouldnt wear heels, a female superhero that for once doesnt have a romantic storyline (Black Widow), plus the supporting women are just as strong as the leads. The only thing that confused me/rubbing me the wrong way was the way the video kind of addressed intersectional feminism. The entire video is on the nose with challenging the stereotypes of film but the ending seemed..weird..almost condescending with how it addressed race and feminism. "We gave you this film"..otherwise the other women of color/LGBT were done quite well. Great job
Thanks! We were saying exactly that - the male narrator is still a dick to the black woman for "asking for too much." It shows that even when women get things its often only white women and doesn't account for women of color too.
+Just Between Us ahhh I see. I picked up the point of the ending, I just might have confused who's that critique meant for since for the most part the narrator seems to support your takedown of cinematic tropes. But now I get the ending's abrasive message was on purpose. Like feminism, this short film has layers haha. Well done Gaby and Allison!
They have dunn a raskin great job with this!
I LOVED this. Thanks Alison and Gabby! I appreciated this a lot :)
Brilliant!!! I love that you guys do these sorts of things! Please make more xxx
Doing God's work.
10/10
So... where's the kickstarter/indiegogo link to fund this project to make it a full length film? This needs to be in my life.
upvoting spree! LOVE THIS!!!
I LOVE THIS!!!!
How did I miss this golden nugget?
Allison's pumpkin orange pantsuit would make Hillary proud. Did you borrow the ensemble from your mother?
I've replayed this many times, to mine all the rich goodness packed into this short vid. Pure brilliance! Brava! Encore!
Did I mention I loved this?
+Elaine Marie HOORAY!
THIS IS AWESOME
This is great!!! I'd watch this movie at least 100 times!!!
I am really feeling Allison's hair! -H
This sounded like an honest trailer
This is so awesome! Good job Allison and Gabby!
Amazing video!! Had me laughing the whole time!
how sad is it that i was pleasantly surprised to find that this didn't have like 50% dislikes and endless MRAs in the comments? the internet has ruined me.
You guys are freaking hilarious, I love it!
OH OH OH!!! Can General Lady's catchphrase be "It's game ovary for you"?
Also, those suits man. KILLIN IT.
This was awesome! This is the kind of movie I'd like to watch.
Oh my god this was hilarious! I love those girls.
The three daughter thing is so true. I only have one daughter and I am really sensitive to how female characters are represented. It is so hard to find things that pass the Bechdel test. Apparently women only talk about their sons and never about each other or their daughters. Whenever I find an age appropriate media that depicts well rounded female characters, I push it. The other night, I showed her a video of a rugby player tackling with a broken nose to teach her that girls can be tough too. Right now she likes Princess Peach on Smash Bros, Samus, My Little Pony, RWBY, Doc McStuffins, and Sheriff Cally.
This was so much fun!! It would be nice if it was an actual movie :)
The movie titles at the beginning were so funny!
my favorite buzzfeed women in one video XD
hahahahahahaha!!!!! the gasp after the conspiracy is far greater then we realized. this is funny
Alison's jump-over-car stunt was marvelous, teach me!
Buzzfeed girls !
Just in case anyone is confused as to what the message of this video is (ie. people that are saying this video is a parody of "overly sensitive feminists" and "outrageous saws"), here's the behind the scenes video of Allison and Gaby EXPLAINING what the video is about: ua-cam.com/video/5pnOHhGx5dw/v-deo.html
This film is going to be incredible! I loved the superhero's role as well, along with the fact that she is actually fully clothed. Brilliant idea for this, can't wait to see the finished product!!
I wish this was a full movie just because I love them so much
This is the greatest thing. Thank you!
God, I need this movie.
OMG LADIES OF BUZZFEED STRAIGHT KILLING IT!!!!
Buzzfeed sucks, JBU rules.
This is awesome!!! More Allison and gaby!!!
I just can't, this is hilarious. MAKE THIS MOVIEEE
This is wonderfu!! :D Gaby and Allison, you're my heroes :D
This was absolutely fun to watch! 😁
THIS IS GREAT THANK YOU FOR THIS
