It looks absolutely freezing there bro. Here i am in OZ on a balmy Sunday feeling the cold blast from the video....but Spring is a coming there with plenty of great flying weather.. Definitely very well made because when I got my second warbird in the early 19’s, it was made of soft styrofoam and the wing will suddenly snap while flying. So I can’t fly in strong wind conditions. Nice recommendation from both of you. Thanks 🙏
I absolutely love your content on this channel, you guys are responsible for me getting past just RC trucks and into the air with a Habu, and then another 5 planes, including the Thunderbird and Blue Angel, after that already in the last 6 months, the only thing I would love to see is some sort of windscreen for your audio.
Wow! They reheated the old "Parkzone" T-28 again. I've had 2 of those with the old Air Force color scheme, still have my 2nd one with lights for a night flier. This is a VERY good trainer, great flyer, and with the updated electronics it should be outstanding! Glad they brought it back for all the new pilots (and experienced pilots!) out there. Abby will love how docile, yet agile it is!👍

I love watching yall videos...I bought the 400mm P51 and F4U Corsair just to learn and now I have the 750mm P51 and getting ready to buy the 800mm F4U Corsair RTF when it comes back in stock...still learning.
This would be perfect for Gary, with the number on the nose. I suggested that he uses this number for his Blue Angels jet (but just a suggestion) I do like this color scheme better than the white and orange too.
got this plane on a pre black friday sale for $160. WOW. I took off the cowling to screw in the set screw on the front gear. Will try a 10x7 for the 4S. It flies well on 3S but a 4S 1800 is great for it. Virtually the same size and weight as a 3S 2200. A good flyer; no surprises, stable in the wind with as3x.
My better half gifted me a battery-operated hand warmer for those cold mornings at the Flying Field. While we don't get quite as cold here as there, it's still nice to be able to warm up the hands between flights.

My 2nd plane was an old & beat up, Parkzone T28. This looks like the exact same plane, with a different colour scheme. The Trojan I had was easy to fly without safe or AS3X. It suffered the fate of many planes when flown by a new pilot, & I couldn’t find any replacement parts. 4s capability is a definite improvement.
This really is just an overhaul of that plane. It's nice to see a good plane, redone again and made even better! Not a bad price either :-) Thanks for tuning in!

for a low wing warbird, it's actually easy to fly even with safe off... comparable to an Apprentice. flies slower than the Valiant but you need to maintain speed on steep bank turns
Nate great review. Let me ask you this....If you had to pick a prop warbird plane with this same tech and easy flying characteristics, but with retracts...which one would u recommend. Happy New Year you two!

This is identical to the previous T-28 Trojan E-Flite released 12+ years ago when I got into the hobby and lipos came out, except in a new color foam. I can’t believe it.
If you like telemetry so much try a modern opentx radio like the radiomaster tx16s and use a crossfire receiver plus a flight controller with INAV. Also. Take the landing gear off and hand toss this plane...it looks and flies so much better. It is a great plane. I had the original parkzone version and horizon hobbies version 2...I will get this one as well
This has been introduced with the original color schemes flown by the USN and USMC. My earlier Parkzone version required no velcro because the battery hatch has a "foot" intruding on the battery well not allowing the battery to slide out of it's slot. That's funny how much you applaud the tight space of the battery compartment but Old version of the T28 by Parkzone Branch had the very same snug fit for a while until you use the plane enough to have not choice but to put velcro in there. Just about anything of this plane looks identical to Old versions of Parkzone Brand which I have to say is actually awesome. Looking forward to receiving mine in few weeks.
Hey guys, enjoying the content as always. Really like the look of this model... How come you guys aren't at the grass flying field anymore? Just because of winter weather or more likely for the acres of pavement available at this location? (Apologises if you guys already said in a previous video, dunno why but seemed to prefer the overall vibe of your videos at that grass strip) Would have really have liked to see how this one performs of grass. This is the exact plane that was originally the Parkzone T-28 from about 15yrs ago with a different color scheme. My biggest problem with them back then was that the plastic nose wheel steering arm under the cowl was prone to breaking along with the thin foam elevator. Not sure if they fixed those issues or not. However it was a popular little plane back then & I'm sure it'll be just as popular under the new Eflight name.

@@TheRcSaylors Hey Nate, Quick question. Just did my maiden but issue was plane has too much up elevator? Mine was just going up and up. Lol. Was able to land safely. My 3s 2200 was exactly how the book says but not sure if i have to manually adjust the clevis down a bit? I did try few clicks down trim but was not effective. Maybe 10 to 15 clicks might work not sure. You guys had similar issue?
I have been flying my delta ray one and my champ s+ for a couple of years now. I am looking to step it up to either the trojan or the valiant, just can't decide which one......
What are everyone's thoughts on adding a Flap kit to this? Can it be done with the ESC? Friend of mine did it with the older P-51D and it really made a difference for landings..
also sorry that i keep raving about this vrx cobra car, but i love it, it comes with a 3s and is pretty fast probs as fast as a dhk maximus, its great for bmx track bashing and is incredible at being stable on ground and in the air, the body style looks amazing. I am not advertising i just wanna see this car on your channel, this car has many aluminium upgrades, and no its not a 1/8 scale, the claim it is but its not, but it is my favourite cheaper rc car at the moment
I noticed on mine the left elevator (when looking from behind) (especially near the tip) does not lift as much as the right side of the elevator. The difference can actually be pretty pronounced. Has anyone else found the same thing. Any ideas as to a fix for this? It's kind of seems like the foam "joint" on that side is stiffer than on the right?

They are all made with the exact same air frame, thats why. Those molds cost a lot to make so the company sells it to various manufacturers of RC planes whom put their own electronics in it. Thats fine in my book. My original is still brand new but I can upgrade by ordering parts from the new guys to bring mine up to more modern times.
If you had flaps , retracts, bigger size, it would be a completely different (much heavier) plane. It seems old school because it is old school . Its a kit thats been around for many many many years (2007). :-)
I did pick up this plane and the nx6 radio but PLEASE, IM BEGING YOU. Could please do a video showing how to bind and program the radio and the aircraft? PLEASE!!
I took my old red and white version from around 2010 up today. It was the first version that was released. So old that it was released und the Parkzone label. I made a few repairs to it back last winter. Sadly, I didn't realize that the elevator didn't have full travel on low rates and was at a slightly downward angle. It wasn't easy to get off of the ground. Climbed to about 20 feet and as I turned, it lost altitude and because the elevator was out of position, it bounced hard off of the ground and ripped the wing off. CA glue and a little gauze will have me back up soon. It could have been really bad. Especially with it being a vintage plane with parts not readily available. Stay safe!
Nate during the flight, Abby asked you to set up the transmitter for her next flight. I would like to see you do a video do that and describe how you trim the plane in flight. I am building a new plane and will need that skill. My RTF mini apprentice was trimmed at the field by my instructor on the DXe. I now have a NX6 and I haven’t trimmed the plane yet. It seems like it ought to be a simple task but until you do it, it makes you a little nervous. I will watch that one almost as much as the one of flying in the wind. Playing around with the transmitter with the plane on the ground, I don’t see much change. I have played with Real Flight 9.5 with trim adjustment and can’t see any change with flight performance. So, at this point, flight trimming seems like voodoo. What do you think? Larry

Enjoyed the video. Very nice looking plane and seems to also fly very nice. My guess, because you didn't show it and looking at the size of the wheels, is that this T-28 will not be able to handle grass takeoffs and landings, correct?
This could easily take off from the grass at our RC airfield, but the grass is a bit taller here and probably couldn't handle it. If mowed properly, yes this could definitely take off and land on grass.
Thanks for freezing for us! I keep debating about getting back into fixed wing RC. Some of my hesitation will revolve around "how" the new FAA Remote ID rule will be implemented. From what I understand it's "better" than the draft put out in mid 2020...but still limits flying to FAA approved flying sites if you DON'T retrofit with a remote ID module...maybe those won't be as expensive and heavy as feared. I have learned so much from you guys! Have been flying RC about 6 months now, and really hooked on it. So my question is on the T-28, did you have to modify the battery bay to get the battery to fit. I put a brand new 3s and 4S 2200 in, and they don't want to fit without trimming the bay.

Hey guys, enjoying the content as always. Really like the look of this model... How come you guys aren't at the grass flying field anymore? Just because of winter weather or more likely for the acres of pavement available at this location? (Apologises if you guys already said in a previous video, dunno why but seemed to prefer the overall vibe of your videos at that grass strip) Would have really have liked to see how this one performs of grass. Anyways all the best, keep up the awesome content.
This is the exact plane that was originally the Parkzone T-28 from about 15yrs ago with a different color scheme. My biggest problem with them back then was that the plastic nose wheel steering arm under the cowl was prone to breaking along with the thin foam elevator. Not sure if they fixed those issues or not. However it was a popular little plane back then & I'm sure it'll be just as popular under the new Eflight name.
I can tell you that mine has been through the wars and is still very intact and flies great.

Being it’s a park zone design , you’ll eventually have to put Velcro on the battery. That foam wears out and won’t hold tight for long

That and horizon doesn't position the straps well so you can actually pull them tight, but that's the only 2 complaints I have
@@TheRcSaylors Hey Nate, Quick question. Just did my maiden but issue was plane has too much up elevator? Mine was just going up and up. Lol. Was able to land safely. My 3s 2200 was exactly how the book says but not sure if i have to manually adjust the clevis down a bit? I did try few clicks down trim but was not effective. Maybe 10 to 15 clicks might work not sure. You guys had similar issue?
I have been flying my delta ray one and my champ s+ for a couple of years now. I am looking to step it up to either the trojan or the valiant, just can't decide which one......
What are everyone's thoughts on adding a Flap kit to this? Can it be done with the ESC? Friend of mine did it with the older P-51D and it really made a difference for landings..
also sorry that i keep raving about this vrx cobra car, but i love it, it comes with a 3s and is pretty fast probs as fast as a dhk maximus, its great for bmx track bashing and is incredible at being stable on ground and in the air, the body style looks amazing. I am not advertising i just wanna see this car on your channel, this car has many aluminium upgrades, and no its not a 1/8 scale, the claim it is but its not, but it is my favourite cheaper rc car at the moment

I noticed on mine the left elevator (when looking from behind) (especially near the tip) does not lift as much as the right side of the elevator. The difference can actually be pretty pronounced.
Has anyone else found the same thing. Any ideas as to a fix for this? It's kind of seems like the foam "joint" on that side is stiffer than on the right?
Yes and it comes with AS3S and Safe Select. I have flown this plane on RF 9.5s. I luv the SAFE technology.

Looks just like the park zone t-28. The dynam t-28 with retracts and flaps flies good too.

They are all made with the exact same air frame, thats why. Those molds cost a lot to make so the company sells it to various manufacturers of RC planes whom put their own electronics in it. Thats fine in my book. My original is still brand new but I can upgrade by ordering parts from the new guys to bring mine up to more modern times.

If you had flaps , retracts, bigger size, it would be a completely different (much heavier) plane. It seems old school because it is old school . Its a kit thats been around for many many many years (2007). :-)

I took my old red and white version from around 2010 up today. It was the first version that was released. So old that it was released und the Parkzone label. I made a few repairs to it back last winter. Sadly, I didn't realize that the elevator didn't have full travel on low rates and was at a slightly downward angle. It wasn't easy to get off of the ground. Climbed to about 20 feet and as I turned, it lost altitude and because the elevator was out of position, it bounced hard off of the ground and ripped the wing off. CA glue and a little gauze will have me back up soon. It could have been really bad. Especially with it being a vintage plane with parts not readily available. Stay safe!

Nate during the flight, Abby asked you to set up the transmitter for her next flight. I would like to see you do a video do that and describe how you trim the plane in flight. I am building a new plane and will need that skill. My RTF mini apprentice was trimmed at the field by my instructor on the DXe. I now have a NX6 and I haven’t trimmed the plane yet. It seems like it ought to be a simple task but until you do it, it makes you a little nervous. I will watch that one almost as much as the one of flying in the wind.
Playing around with the transmitter with the plane on the ground, I don’t see much change.
I have played with Real Flight 9.5 with trim adjustment and can’t see any change with flight performance. So, at this point, flight trimming seems like voodoo.

My guess, because you didn't show it and looking at the size of the wheels, is that this T-28 will not be able to handle grass takeoffs and landings, correct?
This could easily take off from the grass at our RC airfield, but the grass is a bit taller here and probably couldn't handle it. If mowed properly, yes this could definitely take off and land on grass.

Thanks for freezing for us! I keep debating about getting back into fixed wing RC. Some of my hesitation will revolve around "how" the new FAA Remote ID rule will be implemented. From what I understand it's "better" than the draft put out in mid 2020...but still limits flying to FAA approved flying sites if you DON'T retrofit with a remote ID module...maybe those won't be as expensive and heavy as feared. Thanks again RcSaylors.

It can be added to any plane for $40-$50 maybe less. ZOHD Kopilot is one option. But yes, some beginner planes have RTH

Good question! I will have to dig into this a bit and find out. It does have some voice functions. It does have an audible alarm, which is how I knew to land, not by looking at my screen 😉 Thanks for tuning in 👍😁😎⚓

I have learned so much from you guys! Have been flying RC about 6 months now, and really hooked on it. So my question is on the T-28, did you have to modify the battery bay to get the battery to fit. I put a brand new 3s and 4S 2200 in, and they don't want to fit without trimming the bay.
David from what I understand, the larger one lays down, but the other fits in on its side.
