My JVC GZ-MS100 (the first "real" camcorder I had, back in 2009) had the same problem with the auto white balance in indoor scenes, and its menu system made the same beep sounds, so it's funny how both their very low-end and very high-end camcorders had some of the same characteristics. For 2014, Panasonic is introducing a new $600 "Enhanced Audio" camcorder (the HC-V750), and an $800 camcorder with infrared night vision (the HC-W850), so at least they are actually adding useful new features to their camcorders, unlike Sony who keeps removing features and cheapening-out their Handycams!
Sony indeed has been producing a lot of junk lately. Some of their low end camcorders really shouldn't even exist. I am however quite impressed with their new CX900. It has a lot of features on it that they haven't given you since the HDR-HC1.

Where’s the white balance settings? I am working with this camera and every time I white balance, it just automatically goes back to how it looked before the white balance.
The camcorder must be in manual mode, the WB selector switch must be in postion A or B, then you can activate the white balance with the AWB button on front. Please refer to the instruction manual (available online) for further info.
Hi! I just bought this camera. I tried to record video on a class 6 hdc micro sd card that I use with an adaptor, but the dislpays says "cannot use in video mode". Is the micro sd the problem attached to the adaptor? Should I get a common sd card?
If I recall correctly, the camcorder will only work with SD cards of a certain class, until you install a firmware update which will allow the camcorder to operate with SD cards of a certain class and above. I don't remember which class it was, I think class 4. All I know for sure is the camcorder will not work with class 10 until the firmware update is installed. I had that problem myself.

So how am i supposed to make any intelligent decision about that camera if you don't even include actual footage of the camera? With respect, this review is badly made. Its great that your talking about the features and the capabilitys of the camera, but your giving me my veggies and potatos and no steak.
How about you read the video description: It doesn't mention any test footage in there. See, the thing is, to make a test, that actually delivers valid information, it takes more than just making some random test videos. Back when I made this video, I wasn't even able to upload FullHD video, this is just 720p. So if I would have included footage, it would have been downscaled and not the original resolution - and therefore it would not have been a valid test.

I've heard people mention this camera having a Lolux mode but I can't find anything in the menu. Does anyone know how to turn this mode on?
I am not sure if the HM100 really does have the Lolux mode, something tells me that was a new feature on the follow-up model HM150.
