Here are some awesome sounding arpeggios that are hiding within the Pentatonic scale, you just need to find them!
Please leave a comment if you find this type of "lesson" useful so that I know to keep making them....

Iam 66yrs old, and you have inspired me to start to get back into my guitar again. Your runs are very fluid. Moreso than but a few guitarist I listen too.Guthery being one. Thank you. I'm going to check out truefire because of you. Thank you
By watching John's videos for a week now, I've learned more than past two years.
What a gifted player and teacher you are John
Thanks John for this incredibly awesome lesson. One of my favourites so far especially for the amount I can keep drawing from it. Sounds super cool too, amazing playing!
I am absolutely going to use this in my playing. You just gave me my marching orders for the next week or two. Thank you for this lesson.
That note per string idea lends itself beautifully to smaller shapes across 3 or 4 strings using a circulating sweep picking motion. Makes it easier to play faster pentatonic things. (They just sound a bit different!)
Thank you! These are my favorite sounding arpeggios and I’ve been wanting to learn about them. Your old intro from a couple of years ago has a lick in it that utilizes this and I’ve always thought it sounded so cool.
This is one of those what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it lessons. Thank you. My day after work is planned now. I’ll be practicing this.
Just recently came upon this channel. I really appreciate your ideas in videos like this. It has been bringing fresh new ideas to my playing as I’ve felt stale lately, especially after learning the caged system. It’s all been sounding similar
Great and wonderful stuff, John. Simple yet complex at the same time, ingenious, for a great great sound. May God bless and reward you. Fabio
You are one of my favorite players.
I cop your licks all the time.
Keep it up!
Fantastic, insightful lesson. Thanks so much.
Really useful lesson. Great stuff.
Good lesson. Really good. Great way to learn the fretboard.
AMAZING LESSON!!!! THANKS!!!!
An eye opener, Thnx!
Very cool lesson, thx.
Great lesson
killer video mate!
A few lessons in one. There’s the sweep generating structural trick alternating interval size, and then there’s finding triadic melodies within the degrees of the pentatonic. Good way to start a Monday. Cheers.
Cool idea. Notes from the Pentatonic Scale also produce interesting sounding close voiced triads.
Still one of the Greatest players. Damn I love your playing dude.
Killer concept
More lessons like this please
I recently bought a Boss GX-100 and after going through many of the videos posted regarding it, I came across yours and you quickly became one of my "Go To" for information on this device. There are really only about three of you users who really know what you're talking about and truly explain and show what it is that you're doing. In viewing those videos, I have come across your tutorials regarding playing and Pentatonic usage and once again, you're head and shoulders above the rest that I've seen. Your explanation and demonstration certainly make it assessable for one to incorporate it into their lives and playing. Is it possible for me to talk to you in a different setting regarding the GX-100 and the Pentatonic scales ? I am certainly willing to compensate you for your valuable time.
very good 아주 멋져요!
Reminds me of some Bret Garsed stuff and the Satch song “Mystical Potatohead Groove Thing”.
Atlast i found you
Cool idea, me like :)
Hey John! A cool lick challenge for you and something I would like to learn, Neal Schon Send Me An Angel around 1:22 or the 3:00 minute mark of the song...a great song by the way, love his tone....Cheers
yeah... pentatonc sweep picking" nice one
Man I love this yellow strat! Which brand is this from JN?
thankx ... first i had to write it out for myself before i could see... 🤣it's (too) easy #MeLike
Can you review a sunset metallic squier contemporary jazzmaster please!?
Thank you John Cordy, I’m a Truefire all access member and would like to know what courses are you enjoying at the moment? Who are your favorite go to lesson educators? There are so many courses it can get overwhelming. Thank you. Tim
You really think JNC needs to check out TrueFire educators like us mortals?
Nice sound this gives! Why look at it as a visual thing (higher note/lower note) instead of look at it as functions of chords? (Root, 5th, 7th, 11th, etc). In my mind that would develop skills to use these sounds to play over changes…aligned with “musical sounds/tensions/language” (#eartraining)
Hi James, do you teach private online lessons?
If so, I’m interested!
It’s Very Carl Verheyen
Hi JNC, what pickups you using on that K-line? Sounds excellent!👌
This one has Montys Pre-65 retro winds in it
@@johnnathancordy You seem to be digging them, differences to the lollars?
There is no 6th fret in the tab displayed at 3:42 though ?
What’s guitar plugin u r using ?
Kann man bestimmt gut mit legato spielen verbinden....👍
Is this for major or minor pentatonic
7sus4 🤔
What’s the problem?
C7sus4 - C F G Bb
@@Drtydeeds Yup just pointing out how 2 of the 5 arpeggios begin with a 7sus4 voicing!
@@terrapin323 good observation :)
