I don't follow the circuit but I follow Matt Stefan. Proud paying follower of him. The format is just a big Charlie Foxtrot for me to like, I am sure its great for someone to watch. Only time I check on the Opens or Elites is when some of the local/regional folks are up in them. Matt will do good with what ever happens.
Ffs users are all killing the bass. And tournaments should be shut down. Any “pro” sport builds its own arena. Hold tournaments on private lakes and get off public land and water with your corporate bs

When MLF first started they lured the pros from the Bassmaster Elites by not having entry fees, and that they would have input on the tournament formats. Over the years they've changed it to the pros having to pay entry fees and having no input on changes to tournament formats. Every season they change this or that. The fans cannot keep up with all the changes. I quit watching the live broadcasts.
I think your suggestion would work for the better. I wonder how a new guy could get in the circuit and how do they eliminate current people to let new people in?
I’ve always said/thought this since day one. Splitting the field and multiple times of zeroing the weights is just too much. Everyone on the lake for the first day or two & then cut it down for finale. If want to stick to four day model (but be different than Elites) then go full field for day 1-2, top 25 on day 3. If still want to do the zeroing out for a final day shootout then only have the top 5 or top 7 fish that finale, making it an earned spot into that final round shootout.
Bass fishing in relation to tournaments especially in the last couple of years has left a sour taste in most fisherman's mouth. Very few anglers are being successful and the tournament organizations are all in it for themselves.
I think the anglers and fans like the heavy hitters. It's usually the best one of the year in my opinion. Usually shallow water old school fishing for big ones and no FFS

But they just can’t get their shit together. All the empty promises made to these anglers, potentially ruining the livelihood of many, not just from this year, but also previous years. TNPFL seems to have it figured out, but I’m also sure we’ll see a change coming there soon also. But for the most part, they nailed it out of the gate for what they were trying to do. Anyway, MLF ruins anything they touch.

MLF BPT tournaments are too long. 2 days for group A, 2 for group B, Knockout round and championship round. 6 DAYS! That’s too long for a number of reasons. Many of their pros have eluded to that without saying it for fear of pissing off Boyd.
You started off saying MLF robbed other leagues to start their series. Then you turn around and say they should take the top 100 based upon every series. Please choose and stay with it. Then you insult the anglers by saying they can't keep up with who makes Redcrest or heavy hitters when I see most seem to know if they are in or if they need a strong finish to get there. Their is more excitement watching who will make the cut after two rounds, or the final cut to the championship day. I would rather they cut practice to two days at most with a time limit per day no longer than the tournament round each day. And of course no forward facing sonar during tournament days.
How would a young angler in their first five years to eight years of their career ever get into the league? Since both circuits have college leagues, you'd have to take a number from the college leagues. In this country we love up and coming athletes.

But im going to just have fun fishing in my free time and maybe do a fruit jar tournament here and there and save a lot of time trying to follow a pro tour

Matt Stefan got screwed after one year with BPT. MLF/BPT will never be able to compete with Bassmasters. Nobody wants to go to an event and not see fish get weighed in. MLF is still a sinking ship. You yourself said they should do away with the BPT and focus on BFL and Toyota Series.

To have an actual competition you would need everyone to have the same equipment and the same spots to fish. No practice. Show up and fish on the same boat. And no ffs. Ffs completely takes all the bass fishing skill out of it.

I stopped watching NASCAR when they started changing the series and adding all this extra crap to the points system many years ago, same with Bass Fishing. All theses extras don’t add to the excitement they take away from the sport.

The undeniable fact is that MLF (in all of its formats) has made professional bass fishing a TV spectator sport. Watching an angler strut across a stage holding up fish and talking about what boat and motor they use is not as fun to watch as LIVE fishing. Not having a "cut" would mean not having coverage of every angler on the final day. BAD IDEA! Would you watch NFL on TV if there were only 5 cameras and those were only ever pointing at one particular player ... even when that player was on the sideline? Does MLF do everything perfectly? I seriously doubt it. I suspect that a lot of the changes they are making is part of a LEARNING PROCESS. Figuring out how to keep the spectator aspect in a profitable way. I suspect that amount of camera equipment and personnel is more expensive than a single camera and a strutting stage. I would have thought that RANDY would have been in favor of MLF's team series events. Seeing as the anglers have to compete in MLF boats, there could be a SERIOUS public push (HEADED BY RANDY) to make the boats free of forward facing sonar!!!!!
LOL, this concept won't work Randy half of the top 100 BASS all time earnings leaders are either dead or retired? I agree the field needs to be earned at some standard, but maybe relevant to the top guys currently still active and relevant in the sport? You also know that this format puts you back into the fields as well as you are 75th all time in Career BASS earnings. We need more Toyotas in each division maybe 5 or 6 with a throw out and get rid of the stupid nonsense wildcard.

They could have built up suspense and increased viewership as the season went on. And, they still haven't told us why they decided last week to go from 65 to 66. I love MLF, but their website stinks.
There isn’t enough demand for bass fishing to have two pro circuits. Sponsors don’t have to pay money cause every swinging pecker neck is shouting product plugs for a bag of worms. MLF go under, have one elite series with the top combined guys as top pro’s and congregate all sponsor dollars to one circuit. Without that, no one is making money.

Looking at the schedule for next year, it looks like the BPT stages are only going to be 4 days so maybe they are changing the format.

One of the biggest things is they and BASS need to do is stop overlapping tournament dates. Go back to some Fall tournaments.

I’m so tired of BFL, the two guys I enjoyed watching on the bfl and probably only reason I followed was Ryan sallzman and Matt Stephen and they got cut, I’m done with BFL
I went to mlf website and Google searched it. The only thing I see is another UA-camr who did his own math to come up with that list. He said as much. And you just read the exact same list in exact same order. So is this mlf released or predictions by youtubers?

Talking about pros no one knows, I watch BASSMaster Elite series this weekend and only knew a couple of them…it’s a changing world…
Yeah, you can’t build any loyalty to anglers because no one’s dominant number one and no one wants to watch and catch them on fucking life scopes not fishing. Probably pulling GPS coordinates from each other. That’s enough time. The whole sport is freaking ruined.
@@randyemerson8729no one is dominant because it’s not a real competition. None of it makes sense. To have an actual competition you would need everyone to have the same equipment and the same spots to fish. No practice. Show up and fish on the same boat. And no ffs. Ffs completely takes all the bass fishing skill out of it.

I stopped watching NASCAR when they started changing the series and adding all this extra crap to the points system many years ago, same with Bass Fishing. All theses extras don’t add to the excitement they take away from the sport.
Randy ... You are looking at it from the prospective of an EX-pro angler. You are not looking at it from the prospective of a VIEWER. The undeniable fact is that MLF (in all of its formats) has made professional bass fishing a TV spectator sport.
Watching an angler strut across a stage holding up fish and talking about what boat and motor they use is not as fun to watch as LIVE fishing. Not having a "cut" would mean not having coverage of every angler on the final day. BAD IDEA!
Would you watch NFL on TV if there were only 5 cameras and those were only ever pointing at one particular player ... even when that player was on the sideline?
Does MLF do everything perfectly? I seriously doubt it. I suspect that a lot of the changes they are making is part of a LEARNING PROCESS. Figuring out how to keep the spectator aspect in a profitable way. I suspect that amount of camera equipment and personnel is more expensive than a single camera and a strutting stage.
I would have thought that RANDY would have been in favor of MLF's team series events. Seeing as the anglers have to compete in MLF boats, there could be a SERIOUS public push (HEADED BY RANDY) to make the boats free of forward facing sonar!!!!!
LOL, this concept won't work Randy half of the top 100 BASS all time earnings leaders are either dead or retired? I agree the field needs to be earned at some standard, but maybe relevant to the top guys currently still active and relevant in the sport? You also know that this format puts you back into the fields as well as you are 75th all time in Career BASS earnings. We need more Toyotas in each division maybe 5 or 6 with a throw out and get rid of the stupid nonsense wildcard.

@@lillieursua4614 MLF website is terrible. They should have had a list of the 79 anglers ranked from 1-79 after every tournament. They could have built up suspense and increased viewership as the season went on. And, they still haven't told us why they decided last week to go from 65 to 66. I love MLF, but their website stinks.

There isn’t enough demand for bass fishing to have two pro circuits. Sponsors don’t have to pay money cause every swinging pecker neck is shouting product plugs for a bag of worms. MLF go under, have one elite series with the top combined guys as top pro’s and congregate all sponsor dollars to one circuit. Without that, no one is making money.
