Huey's last theatrical outing already has the look, and a bit of the feel, of tv animation.

@Nick Mick Well they have had 35 years or so to learn to get better at this style. and to make the screen more interesting visually, but the main problem is still the lack of texture on surfaces. Can't really blame them though because animation in fine detail just became an economic impossibility.

It seems reminiscent of the Joe Oriolo "Felix the Cat" TV series, as a lot of Famous Studios alumni worked on that show (including Oriolo himself.)

The other way around. The chase music a 4:41-5:10 was also used in the FELIX cartoons as well. Sharples licensed his theatrical music tracks to Joe Oriolo Productions and others.

And of course, the music score starting at 5:40 would go on to be used for the "THE END" card at the end of those "Felix the Cat" TV cartoons. In addition to writing some new music cues, Winston Sharples recycled a LOT of his older Famous Studios compositions in the series.

Winston Sharples, who owned the rights to his Paramount cartoon scores of the 1950's, repackaged several cues with producer Hal Seeger, and rented them out to various independent studios- one of them was Joe Oriolo's, who produced the "FELIX THE CAT" TV cartoons [Sharples also wrote the theme song].

As a child i did not notice there was anything wrong in this cartoon or any other. As a child we do not think with as much negativity as adults. So lighten up people on the old ways it had its purpose. Only adults try to find something bad in things, not children they are innocent beings & have not had the time to grow up on the negative side of everything they see or hear.Give it a rest !!!!

You know...I didn't notice anything in this cartoon, either: when I saw it years ago as a kid, AND right now. What were "they" trying to say? Hmmmm…. All I saw was little(I mean BIG) Baby Huey trying to do something nice for Father Duck on his "special day".

If Famous Studios teamed up with Universal Pictures' Walter Lantz Productions to make new Woody Woodpecker cartoons alongside Tex Avery....
Then at the end of every Paramount-directed Woody Woodpecker cartoon. the cue from Huey's Father's Day and the Felix the Cat "THE END" Card would be heard at 5:39
