I'm a bit confused (don't get me wrong, the video and the tune are both great as usual) I was searching for a mandolin version of bag of spuds but I seem to be ending up listening another tune than this one. Look up Gerry o'connor's bag of spuds for example. Are there multiple versions or is this maybe some other 'bag of spuds'?
Sam Vermeulen Yep, there are a bunch of tunes with that title. It's somewhat common for one tune to have a bunch of names, and for a bunch of tunes to have a name in common.
Sam Vermeulen I learned my version from Andrew & Mary MacNamara's album "Open Hearth". The whole album is packed with great tunes played simply. They play concertina and button accordion.
How ya now scan. I am a mandolin player from galway in Ireland. I wish to inform you that this tune is actually called the blackbird. Just thought id let ya know. SLÁN.
Thanks! That may well be another title for it, but I've heard this tune called the bag of spuds many times as well. The nice thing about tune names is everyone gets to be right. Thanks for watching!
Best teacher ever
I love this little ditty-sounds much more complicated than it is, and so much fun to play!
I really appreciate how you break the tune down into sections - it makes it really easy to follow. Brilliant stuff!
+Emma Butler Thanks so much!

Thank you for these lessons! Is there anyway I can purchase a CD of your fiddle songs, so I can listen to them to learn them?
Yep, links in the description to play along tracks to listen to, as well as my band stuff and solo stuff. Thanks!
