@@FabioGrenkh Resolve just made a post saying he and DMS just received their review units, and they just began testing measurements. Summarized, the tonality lies between the Edition XS and the HD 6XX. Same midrange dip as the XS around 1.8khz which should be an indication of that illusion of soundstage. His post also notes that the FT1 Pro has similar forward midrange characteristics to the HD 6XX. Interestingly, both of their units did not show that big of a dip in the 10k region which was shown in this video. I was honestly torn between getting an HD650 or the XS because I want the soundstage of the hifiman and the mids of the 6XX. If the FT1 pro actually manages to pull off a jack of both trades, then this one might be a buy/or a must try for me.
Way way more revelant as a review that the other one i saw that came before you, more critical and seem's much more honest, i wish we will have more "true" and revelant review like yours incoming thank you very much for this its been really helpfull !
@joefilter2923 Keep in mind that there can be a large variance in the different headphone measurement rigs and you're going to get very different results depending on the actual rig + coupler that is used. In addition, even a positional change of a millimeter or two of the headphones on the measurement rig will change the response significantly. (EDIT: It looks like this reviewer is using an IEM target, not an over-the-ear headphone target?) :/ So, I wouldn't put too much weight into the measurements included here, at least for the response above ~3kHz. The indicated response in the upper mids and treble look quite different from every other measurement I've seen of this headphone...which are overall more balanced and neutral. It would be nice if the reviewer stated which test rig and coupler he is using for his measurements. I'd also like to know exactly what type or genre of music he uses for his listening comparisons, listing the specific tracks and how this headphone presented its unique attributes. With that approach and information, we can then listen to the same track via our own system and headphones and correlate his impressions to our own...i.e. are we hearing the attributes of the original track itself, or moreso the alterations to the track by the spectral balance of the headphones? EDIT: TBF, in the video description, the reviewer does provide a link to an Apple Music playlist with a wide variety of demo/test tracks. But I'd still like to see a specific track referenced in the actual video with notes on how the FT1 PRO presented that track.
Wait, why are you using an IEM target for a headphone graph? That won't accurately represent neutrality in a headphone, it'd have been more accurate to use something like Crin's headphone target or simply harman

Ah, thanks for your review. I succumbed to the 11.11 sale and picked these up, but I don’t think I’ll be trying them. The Sundara is too spicy up top for me, so if these have even more treble there’s no way I’ll like them. Thanks for the review.
You must have gotten a faulty set. None of the other graphs look any thing like yours I the pinna gain area. The graphs I have seen aren’t nearly as hot in the eargain area. Just an fyi.
At this point, I’ll have to assume that fiio has insisted that no one compare the Edition XS! The FT1 was good with great bass slam, but this one seems like it might fail in treble.
i tried the Edition XS and found the bass really underwhelming. dont know what the hype is about. but for the current price for 250 they are quite nice i guess.

It sounds like the FT1 Pro can be easily driven from a phone. Is this correct? I've heard others say that the regular FT1 doesn't reach its full potential when used with a cell phone.
Yes but it’ll have that strange treble (like metal grating) unless paired it with powerful amp. Once hooked up to enough power it sounds like a DD and the metallic treble is gone.
If it was relesed before probably i would go for those over the open box sundara (i did not buy it from hifiman) for 180$, because 20$ more and i would have new pare xD
@cremersalex They are $200 PLANAR headphones that include a very nice balanced cable + standard cable, along with a clamshell case...what do you honestly expect at this price?! They are also lighter than most other planar headphones. And for $20 you can add a very nice 3rd party headband comfort strap from Capra Audio.
this or Edition XS?
Edition Xs is one of the best headphones available, can’t go wrong with that. I do wonder too how it compares to the FT1 pro though

If the sounds signature (bass) is similar to the Meze Liric 1, then it is instant buy.
Isn’t the Liric like 1600€?
@FabioGrenkh Yes 😭😭
What bass shelf, what sub bass ?
Are we looking at the same graph ?
headphone graphs are different from iem graphs. iems need way more bass to be neutral.
