It’s not sliding. It’s jumping, but he’s able to minimize the distance of his foot to the floor to give the illusion of sliding. You should watch his yt shorts tutorial vids on this style of dancing

I have VERY minimal hops that I'm basically sliding into it. Sliding into the criss cross is okay but not recommended for beginners because it doesn't teach proper technique/form.
