About:
Formed in Melbourne, Australia and adored the world over, The Cat Empire is a musical success story that continues to be written. Throughout their 20 year career, the band's stratospheric trajectory has continued unabated, becoming one of Australia's most successful musical exports, growing an army of ardent fans at home and abroad.
Since their teens, the six bound together by a love of music, and bolstered by the career-long guidance of Manager Correne Wilkie, have gone about the business of crafting infectious, genre-embracing anthems and releasing chart-topping, multi-platinum albums to take to the live stage. It was not unusual to find the band performing on main stage bills at iconic international festivals, selling out the world's most famous arenas, mobbed by supporters and media at airports in Spain, and appearing on top rating T.V. shows like Letterman and Leno.
In September 2021, The Cat Empire announced that after 20 years, the band's original line-up would play their final shows together, culminating in a massive show and virtual concert from their hometown of Melbourne in December.
The next chapter of The Cat Empire begins with founding members Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill stepping forward with "a re-imagined, vibrant, cross-cultural, and joyful collective of musicians and artists", with new music planned for 2022.

There was a combined schools choir/orchestra concert in Sydney this month, I was part of the choir, but him performing with the jazz band there was amazing. I loved it so much.

The most underrated band of all time.
IIRC it was 2005 whenIi first discovered Cat Empire being original from Melbourne myself. Cat Empire is and always was just creating soulful oldschool music without the fluff. In those 8 years the music business has majorly been turned upside-down thanks to the Internet. It's up to the audience to give artist recognition not the financial business. People now are more exposed to Cat Empire's soulful oldschool beats that has always been and always will be great.
I agree they should have a lot more views.

This is truly a great song and the video is a master piece.
this just gives me so many intense emotions. doesn't matter that the style is slightly different to some of their other songs - this is so brilliant and fresh and electrifying. there is so much to this song - harmonies, backing vocals, riffs, latin piano, an eargasmic bass line - and the more i listen, the more i discover each time. and this video is striking and beautifully done too. amazing work boys!

Great band live. So much happening in their music. Some people don't get it sadly probably due to pre conceived ideas of musical genres which this band mix up.
I just know that they make me feel good and want to dance. And that's always a good thing in my book.

I cant stop listening to this song. I love the part that goes "all night awake... " etc I don't care so much for the ska or funk or whatever it is stuff I'd just want to hear the chorus in an endless loop. Especially towards the end it becomes almost ecstatic and then suddenly turns back to the other style, thats so painful.
I wish there were a variant of this song than only contains that chorus part, a remix or cover or something
+Clemens Nyffeler Well that's the latin style. You just haven't acquired the taste yet. It's fine. It's like how the many of whom disliked rap parts in songs such as Feel Good Inc. until they learned more about the style of rap and thus ends up appreciating the rap parts more with critical thinking.
