Four Days As An AIRLINE PILOT | Behind The Scenes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 гру 2023
- Join along for a trip in my life as an airline Pilot. This was a 4 day trip with two layovers in Phoenix and one in Cleveland. Four day trips are pretty rare for the company I work with. I share some health tips and 3 of my workouts on the go. The hotel gym in Phoenix didn’t have many options and I was in a crunch for time so I share a couple fast and efficient workouts with minimal equipment. The last layover I linked up with my buddy Pete for a lift and recovery session. Enjoy ✈️

I have my doctorate in a healthcare profession and just decided to pursue becoming a pilot, love hearing you had a female captain! I always wonder about the balance, but seems like keeping it simple and consistency is the way to go.
I’d like to see a pros and cons of being a airline pilot
cons - everything, pros - flying 👍
I got you. I have a short fork video on this on my IG but I’ll have to talk about it in my next video a bit
Pros - All the Chipotle meat.
Cons - Having to pay full price for the Chipotle meat.
@@Joeymiuccio I 2nd this. But also id love to see a video on your suggestions on is it worth it training to be an airline pilot with the pilot shortage and how long you think the shortage will last based off of your experience.
Pros - You get paid to travel the world, you can make high six figures, you get to fly cool planes
Cons - often away from home so family life is tough, different time zones means sleep may be difficult at times, red eye flights, flight school is expensive, eating healthy is hard because restaurant and plane food will make up a large part of one’s diet.
Overall, there many are some pros and cons like any job, so you have to decide whether or not the pros outweigh the cons if you are thinking about becoming a pilot, but for me, I know that I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. That’s why I’m in flight school.
So nice to see a guy who has good looks and a dream job and still be down-to-earth. Bravo. ❤
Love your videos and how despite your crazy schedule you still maintain a fantastic work and life balance, always staying healthy!
Thanks 🙏🏽. Health is wealth
Thank you for bringing us for the ride. I love being there to experience your trips as a pilot and the experiences along the way.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Joey - be good to see how you break up your day on a week on a calendar. Seems like you’re go go go all the the time and amazes me how you fit so much in a week. Cheers and happy holidays
Thanks. I’ll share that more soon. I actually just filmed a full day at home so I’ll show that soon
Thank you for taking us on your trip please do us a video of taking of while in the cockpit
Will do!
Love the content Joey! Could you talk on more running tips and maybe how to become a better runner
Hey absolutely. More fitness content coming soon
Week in the life is 🔥🔥🔥
Very motivating vlog, keep up the great content sir.
Thank you, I will
Awesome video Joey 💪
Appreciate it!
Love the long form content man. More aviation is always good but that's just one ATCs opinion. Keep it up Joey!
Thank you. Will do thanks for watching 🙏🏽
Fantastic video
Great content, well presented!
Glad you liked it!
Love the videos! Great mix of two things I love, flying and working out! The skin care stuff is good too, something I’ve been trying to do more! One question do you get your own EFB? Or is it something that’s just in the aircraft already and everyone uses the same one
Great video bro!! 🔥
Thanks bro 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Good video. Like your flight videos..
The editing on this video is 👌
Ayy I appreciate it
I keep watching your videos I really enjoy your videos the way you take care of yourself physically and preparing for the flight and I enjoy your daily routine is really amazing and enjoyable and one of the most important thing. I always wanted to become an airline pilot I just love the aircraftand Traveling I just wanna say keep your good work is amazing and you are extremely good looking guy
Love the content
I appreciate it 🙏🏽
Love the vids. Try to show more of the actual footage of you flying but other than that it’s great
They can't really show much of that due to FAA regulations
Great video 👍I think it would be cool to see a little more in the cockpit action
Noted! Thanks 🙏🏽. I’ll try to share more but we can’t while flying unfortunately.
Reminds me of when I was a cop. 2 people on patrol. One on Comms/lookout/ready to jump out, and the other one driving.
Love laying in bed under the heating blanket sleeping and watching your videos 90% of the time while I’m at work as an EMS pilot making $200,000 to do it! Working 7 on 7 off sometimes 5 on 9 off and I appreciate you and your comrades safely flying me around the country and world twice a month on my 2 weeks off each month!
Got some go getters here making $300,000+ doing the same thing but to hell with that I don’t work overtime I travel the world $200,000 is more than enough for me with a pension coming in.
Great job man!
what do you fly?
Hey Joey! Greetings from JAX!
Hello there!
Love the post! If possible, Can you post content of inside the cockpit as your in the air?
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to do that. But I’ll try to share more inside
New sub. Love this content. So cool to get a glimpse of your lifestyle. Thank you. Would be cool to get a couple shots of landing take off if allowed.
Ayy thanks so much. I’m not allowed to get those vids unfortunately. But I may try to get permission.
Panda Express!!!I so miss their orange chicken!!🤤🤤
Very cool. I've seen your shorts but never watched a full video. You're an impressive young man. As a former pilot myself, I'd say you're living the life of a good FO. I suspect you would probably a pretty good CFI as well. Now, here's a hiccup, you called CLE cold, but that is coming from a guy that sits in a bucket of ice. That don't jive.
Really well made vlogs Joey. One callout and not meant to be shady at all. Since you do a lot of shirtless and sleeveless single arm vloging, might want to consider shaving the pits. It’s a bit gnarly.
Great video man, sad to not see me fueling your plane in Portland lol but love this. Stoked to be in your position
Brooo yea haha idk what happened to that vid. Next time haha
@@Joeymiuccio still great meeting you man, hope too see you more, I usually fuel frontier🫡
Hey Joey! I’m a FO on the 737 based in Dallas. I was wondering how much y’all get used on reserve. I miss being on reserve and having a bunch of time at home. My company always used their pilots on reserve and always get called in. I’m thinking abut making the switch to your company especially because they are moving to an all day trip system. Appreciate the great videos and keep up the good work brother!
Hey brother. Sometimes we get used a lot and sometimes we barely get used. Here in Tampa it’s been pretty good lately. Last month I worked 8 days and the month before was 3 or 4 days
W video per usual 👏
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I liked the video, Joey! On 8:45 you spelled Phoenix incorrectly… keep posting videos! 😊
My bad haha
verrry good viedo!!!!!!!!!
Cool video! Next Ultra?
Que tengas un bonito inicio de semana saludos 🖖 😊❤
Best vid yet- Love the long form UA-cam vlogs. Fellow Tampa native and creative content producer myself. Let me know if you ever need any help on content or editing. 🤜🤛
More flying content too!
Came for the flights, stayed for the mecca of gyms workout 😂
❤ the Portland airport is my hometown airport ❤😂
Just curious, what app do you use for the approaches and airport diagrams, I noticed the jeppesen plates instead of faa. Also what’s the main difference between being a reserve pilot and a line pilot. Great video
Your videos make me feel guilty about skipping the gym!
solid
Your a pilot and your shredded! Respect 🫡👌💪🏽
Thanks 🙏🏽
I've only watched you for a couple vlogs so far, but like, the schedule is absolutely wild to me how they throw you around like that? Are there longer-term breaks after multi-days like this or is it just go-go-go?
With an on call schedule you get 12 guaranteed days off per month and and the other 18ish days technically could be go go go but honestly it’s super rare. Last month I only flew 8 days all month.
Every time “Phoenix” was spelled wrong, I twitched. 😂 Interesting insight though.
I live in Gilbert near Pheonix i personally dont really like it 😂😂 its very crowded and there is so much going on all the dang time all through the day and night
DEN terminal B center. Modern Market in between chick fil a and McDonald’s has some healthy food I usually get on my sits
day in the life of training and eating, how you got to the goals and numbers with calories and food you have to now with your body and physique
Hope to meet you and take a picture with you when I become a flight attendant sir ❤
What shaver do you use for your face when traveling?
❤❤❤
If you think it was cold here in Portland then, you should have been here a week ago… 19° and Ice Ice Baby for 5 days 🥶
What do you get and what do you get on it when you go to chipotle?
Curious if you have problems with noise at night in hotels. I’m a light sleeper and currently working on my commercial. I’m a light sleeper and have concern about quality sleep in hotels.
Daum he’s fine!
How do you find regional airline flights? When i look up flights i only see major airlines.
How do you manage time with family and friends with your schedule? Do you know the crew before you fly?
I get lots of time off. And after a while you get to know lots of people but I fly with new people I havnt met yet all the time
The idea of flying to different states, and/or countries is so exciting, but when I think about all those details your job involves…😅
I love it ✈️🙏🏽
How many years have you been working out? I’m a truck driver so always on the road too! I tried joining planet fitness to try stay fit on the road! Did a work out to come out and find my truck booted! $500 to get it off! Nightmare!!! I’ll just stay fat and happy for now
I’ve been working out for about 10 years. I love making healthy and fitness a part of my daily routine. This makes it easiest to stay consistent
what shaver do you use?
do you recommend an aviation college or an accelerated program for someone coming out of highschool?
❤
What is the compensation when waiting in airports?
I find your videos really interesting but what's with the constant finger V signs? What do they mean? Thanks
Do you track calorie intake or macros, or have a range you go for?
I recently did a day in the life of eating video. I don’t track very strictly but I focus on high protein
Do you fly with same airline or whatever job is needed to be done?
2 men in da sauna alone .....Love is in da air .......
where's petes hoodie from?
Does it pay more to be on call/reserve or having a line? Or is it the same pay?
I’ve been doing like 5-7 miles every 2-3 days followed by push-ups and squats. How many sets of those 25 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats do you do?
By the way, I finished up stage 1 flight yesterday! I’m starting stage 2 for my PPL on January 2nd! Should have my PPL around late January early February! I look forward to applying to frontier cadet program once I have my CPL so I can fly with you out of Tampa one day!
Ayyy let’s goo. I’ll see you up there ✈️. I’ll usually do 4 rounds of pushups
That’s awesome. I’m working on my PPL stage 2 as well, so hopefully I’ll have it in the spring so like March or April. I didn’t even know that frontier had a cadet program until you mentioned it, but I’ll definitely look into it.
@@videogameplayer0552 yes sir! I know ATP allows you to sign up for it day 1 but everyone else has to wait until after CPL. But yes, do your research! A ton of regional and a few major airlines offer cadet programs! The cool thing with frontier is that they give you a stipend so you’re not totally poor while CFIing
@@FlywithMikey96 That’s a great opportunity. I thought about going to ATP, but the price of the program and the fact that it’s seven months, which feels too rushed for me kind of put me off from the idea. I’d love to join cadet programs such as Frontiers though once I qualify. I like Envoys program as well which has a direct flow to American Airlines.
@@videogameplayer0552 same with me, atp is for privileged people in my opinion. I don’t have anyone in my life that would co-sign and I also don’t have 100k lol. I’m just gonna keep using my gi bill
Can you talk a little more about how the interactions work between first officers and captains? Do you work with a lot of the same faces or is it building a new relationship every time you fly
Mostly new faces for me so far but after a while you’ll work with the same guys a lot. It’s just a random pairing.
@@Joeymiuccio thanks so much for responding! That’s a pretty exciting aspect of the job in its own way. Really appreciate hearing from you!
