      I love that your videos are inspiring dads to connect with their daughters and they took the time to learn.
      I did not see this growing up..instead I had brothers that played with army men, GI JOE’s …I had 2 dolls which my brothers amputated the legs and arms while watching M*A*S*H on the box TVs 70’s-80’s.
      Today they probably would’ve been sent to the phsych ward. The irony is my youngest brother served 24 years in the marines and my other brother lasted a few years in the military but decided it wasn’t for him.
      Well I got a giant size Barbie I hide behind my couch when my brothers come over…I might have been traumatized …just a little bit.

My eldest daughter has hair down to the back of her knees and I would love to sit down one day and show her I can do her hair if need be. After watching your video with the simple explanation it showed me how easy it really is. I sat down and braided 3 strings so easily on the first go. Does anyone else have a problem with doing this on yourself and the end of your hair tangling as you braid? Also, taking it to the side isn't always an option. I wanted to learn to braid for an updo that requires a braided bun and if I bring it to the side too soon, it'll be crooked. Any tips?

    • @EverydayHairInspiration
      @EverydayHairInspiration  4 роки тому +47

      If I do it on myself, I braid as far I can reach down the back, then I flip my head over and the braid and then braid the rest of the hair :D Just remember to adjust your grip on the strands. Hope that made sense! Let me know if it works :D x

    • @romeosdaughter
      @romeosdaughter 4 роки тому +9

      You have to remember that everything you are doing to the top of the braid, you are also doing to the bottom; so, when you cross the strands over each other to braid, the hair at the bottom of the strands is going to cross, too, so for every one or two strands that you cross, you have to run a free hand down to the ends of the strands to make sure they do not tangle. Like, right over middle - slide down and detangle, then left over middle, slide down and detangle, etc.

    • @LaughableDanger141

      I always bring the pieces around the back, not front. Is this wrong?!

    • @quirkygirlboss
      @quirkygirlboss 3 роки тому +5

      The way I do it is, I separate the hair into three sections and I bring the right section over my right shoulder and the left section over my left shoulder & leave the middle. I separate them neatly with my hands so they don't get crossed over each other. I then start doing a regular braid but after I've put the right and/or left section over the middle section, I put them back over my shoulder each time. Once it gets too twisty, I flip the braid over my head and put it in front of my face and finish the braid, then tie it. This works for me and I hope it works for you as well!

    Single father here and I guess my story goes after I watched this video I did her hair as always and did a ponytail. But then I told her I wasn’t done just yet and after I was done braiding it the look on her face was priceless. She was shocked to say the least that I had finally learned how to braid. That’s the best feeling ever. Seeing her happy like that made me want to keep trying new hairstyles. Thank you.

    Wanted to learn to braid for a while, got motivated to finally act on it by my mate sayin' he'd let me braid his hair, this really helped, I went from braiding on a doll, to my grammy, to my sister and then myself. This video was a big help, saved probably hours of anger, confusion and matted hair.
