A lot of people will say "oh it's nostalgia" but I remember genuinely enjoying this game. It was the only game I touched for a really long time aside from hopping onto GTA or Forza with friends who didn't have it but playing solo wasn't miserable like it is now

Darker shadows, burning sun from the inside, quick peeking, you can't aim with pistols properly, ash with 0 hotbox, 3 seconds outside before detection, Blackbeard with an unbreakable face shild, tons of crashes and server issues. Aaah and don't forget the pocket sniper Good old times

Atmosphere was fun I agree but the game is just much more playable now. Such an unplayable atmosphere has nothing to do in a competitive game. Or if it does it should be in casual modes.

fr when I came for fun I just got insane spawnpeeks, crazy angles, C4 lineups, gadgets that were weird and unrealistic, nerfed every scope on defenders and few attackers, shotgun and few AR nerfs… I left the game like 4 moths and came back now the game is sweat to have fun
Because watching people who don't know what they're doing (well they know but the way they do it is not the most graceful) is more unpredictable and therefore entertaining then watching people go click heads. But it's still fun to watch because now people know every single cm² of the map and do stuff you can't expect in your casual match
Honestly I still prefer csgo pro league matches than r6 matches. R6 works great and is entertaining when people don't know what they're doing, but becomes monotone once you know everything. In csgo I believe it's different, it's the opposite.
@@p_filippouz It's just that CS:GO is simple in it's core and there's no stuff to leave behind once you realize it doesn't help you that much. Mechanically it's all nades and guns. Siege, on the other hand has a lot going on. Map destruction, about 70 ops interacting differently with each other.. But at some point you can just click heads so well that all of that fancy stuff becomes more and more of a waste of time you could spend clicking heads and winning quicker with less effort
me too but i doubt any game will ever get close to how good 2015-2016 siege was, maybe a game like swat 4 has similar environment to it albeit with way more tactical mechanics

recruit with shield was one of the best shield ops in the game back and back in 2016 recruit was still insanely op because you got 3 smokes, nades, and lmg and some of the best secondaries in the game, recruit used to be op asf but nowadays its just a meme op lol
Goga originally joined the PENTA roster after playing for a very short time (I believe the time metric mentioned was in weeks) and obviously that roster went on to do a lot.

This darker maps are much better, you can hide, your traps are worked in ~90%. Now every map too bright, the traps so fking visible, and you can't run and hide in a gunfight because the operators glow in the dark.

I don't think attackers will ever be on equal grounds, even with superior weaponry, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the setting they placed the game in. But that's just my nitpicky boomer attitude.
The game used to be much more clumbsy to handle back then and recoil was also much more difficult to control ontop of all that. Also stacking smoke grenades like in 3:51 was absolutely necessary since they were very unreliable back then, where the smoke would not always block everyones view equally. After throwing it it seemed like the smoke was perfectly dense while for some opponents the some was clearly transparent to see through. Stacking smoke grenades made it much more unlikely do die to this. Also injuries in combination with Doc used to be very broken. When you were injured you became invincible for the entire fall animation. The time where someone might have emptied their clip in the desperate attempt to confirm the kill - which was impossible to do since you were still in the animation. Reviving yourself as Doc therefore was a likely to happen counter. People nowadays cry all the time that the game is broken - but after all the game is actually in a very good mostly very well working condition nowadays.
Part of the "it was better b4" is partly alot of the people that push it were kids or teenagers that didn't have to do anything but worry about school amd games so it seemed better you played more you played with friends etc
i didn't played it at that time, but just by looking at how the light was realistic make me says that it was indeed better before, now all maps are magicly illuminated it seems like we are in Valorant instead of being an elite squad swating a building.
!!!!! Btw for all new players that didn't play Y1 Shields and shotguns was first meta siege. Funny thing I just came to think of is that, before in Y1 maybe some of Y2 you could die from C4 as monty full extend or any shield op, it would be like the shield wasn't even there. Blast radius was also ridiculous, not sure if it was bc of the shit servers back then on just the way the C4 was designed

This was long before everybody became twitchy seizure patients and nobody knew the maps well enough to do vertical properly, and high key 1/4 of the playerbase was ACTUALLY hackers and player count went down to below 10k in first year.
I didn't get to play when this game first came out but I still miss before they changed everything I started in phantom sight so I got to play on some of the old maps like house, kanal and Oregon the game was so fun back then

Played console and didn't know what dead zones were for about 3 months and was using 100 100 H/V and 50 50 DZ *facepalm*.
So good 😢 ubi is so focused on 'every site needs to be viable' that it ruins the game. Knowing how to play a 'bad site' with unconventional strats was half the fun

Funny thing I just came to think of is that, before in Y1 maybe some of Y2 you could die from C4 as monty full extend or any shield op, it would be like the shield wasn't even there. Blast radius was also ridiculous, not sure if it was bc of the shit servers back then on just the way the C4 was designed
Nah C4 was OP at the beginning and shields barely did anything to stop it

At one point Smoke, Mute, Pulse, Kapkan, Bandit, Frost, Valkyrie, and Caveira all had nitro cells. 8 out of the 13 defenders 😭

It was not a better game. Broken shotgun snipers, Blackbeard unbreakable shield 52 damage scar, horrible hit reg, connection issues, HORRIBLE lighting, lean and crouch spamming shields.

This was long before everybody became twitchy seizure patients and nobody knew the maps well enough to do vertical properly, and high key 1/4 of the playerbase was ACTUALLY hackers and player count went down to below 10k in first year.
I didn't get to play when this game first came out but I still miss before they changed everything I started in phantom sight so I got to play on some of the old maps like house, kanal and Oregon the game was so fun back then

@@claytonhellner1701 probably miss old tachanka and recruits the most tbh. Spawnpeeking with a mobile lmg just isnt the same as bunkering down in a window with a stationary but sturdy head popper. And no attachments on recruits with massive loadout options just hit diffrent. When they changed those, i knorice the game because less fun and way more sweaty and kill focused. Bummer.
