Because we have different capacities in different areas. Theres also different understandings and different point of views. (this is just an example) I think its about how clearly are we able to see things, how aware are we, how awake. Everything we understand is within the mind. I love how Osho differentiates Intellectuals and intelligence! One sample is the school system producing intellectual, knowledgeable people.. In society, almost everybody's a cookie cutta' including myself! :( Only a few dare to be authentic, original. It makes me think that intelligence is how you respond moment to moment in every life's situations or being creative.
School doesn’t even reflect intellectualism since 99% of the stuff you learn will be forgotten once you have thrown it up on the test paper. All school teaches is your short term memory. How much meaningless information you can store in your head during a short amount of time to throw it up on a paper and forget everything the next morning. The correlation between intelligence and school is zero, and so is it with intellect, ambition, passion focus, determination, discipline, perseverance, resilience and character. School performance has got nothing to do with any of that, school performance has got to do with one thing and one thing only. Obedience, who can and who can not take orders without questioning, who can do what Simon says, period, without thinking reflecting or having any mind or word of your own. school is just an institution to create slaves and grades determines just that, who is and who is not good slave material. The more of a free being you are, the worse school results you will have.

Intelligence here is intuition and intellectual is logical. The logical mind cannot work without preexisting data, facts, and experiences. The logical mind’s function is just that to use pre-existing data the best way possible and come with better solutions. Intuition on the other hand is independent of data, it’s the ability to have an insight into problems and life without the need for any memory. Intuition is mother of all presentness and as a sentient being of this planet we’re all meant to be intuitive, that’s how we’re born, with real intelligence that can function presently and independently of memory. To share with you all, I have been preparing to take admission in ftii( film institute) since 3 years. Like every other interview, I prepared for it, parroted good words, good answers but failed to clear . Hence forth for the next film school interview I didn't even prepare my intro. Absolutely nothing in advance. Not only the interview I cleared, but won scholarship as well. Living moment to moment with brutal honestly has an intrinsic value. Success or failure doesn't matter.
