Thanks for posting this. I have a new Taylor 150e 12 string that came with the Elixir strings. I had a new set put on and had the neck reset because the guitar was sounding muddy. It cam back with an ear piercing twang on the high D string, so bad I really couldn't play it any more. Taylor support suggested I try the XS strings so I did. What a difference! The twang is gone, nice clean sounds now, I can hear each individual string the way I expect. I'm glad you put this on because I was wondering what they would sound like after a while, I just had them put on yesterday. They cost more than the Elixir's but if they work this good, then it will be worth it. Thanks again.

You´re welcome. I played on these 5 month finally!
Still sound OK, but tuning start to be inaccurate.
More my colleagues use XS too. 👍

@@laflipper XS have more natural sound for me. I dont like so much ringing (as usually has Elixirs)

@@hyenik I might give these a try, I been using d’addario’s EJ16’s because they are really cheap and give great sound. However the XS sound so much warmer and brighter than the ej16s and last way longer

The real question is are these five times as good as regular D'Addarios ($4 vs $20)?

From all I can gather, these are roughly equivalent to Elixirs, which, for me, with acidic hands, last about ten times as long as untreated/uncoated strings. I've been using Nanoweb 80/20's for many years now, and wouldn't use anything else, until now. I'm trying a set of these XS's now, and they seem pretty close.

yes and no :) depend on your conditions.
For me probably not, but I have no agressive sweat.
But for my ears XS have most natural sound of coated strings
