Jake I worked on ships for about 25 years. Those are fuel tanks and can have dangerous fumes in them for years. Be careful when you are around things like that.
I personally think you should invest in a gas testing monitor. You should be testing the atmospheres in these confined spaces before you're entering them and whilst you're inside. It would be a shame to see your life lost and possibly your mate trying to get you out because of your carelessness. Stay safe mate!

I'm scared of murky water or water I can't see the bottom of, moderate fear of the dark and confined places so to see him go in the dark barge with no idea what was in there just about gave me an anxiety attack! And the thing you were standing on was deteriorating all I could think of was the ladder breaking off and you going into that murky water😩

Lol he was so lucky he almost fell and notice it quickly and to be honest i think he is so so lucky because everytime he dive on/in a river he always find something cool and amzing..😂😃.
I'd be very careful entering any confined space that's not been inspected by qualified personnel , entering the tanks on the barge was and is very risky , you have no way of finding out what's in there believe me I've worked in shipyards and people have died from unseen gases that don't have a smell . just trying to see you have more great days exploring and be safe doing..
