      We have a small greenhouse attached to our house, it's heated but no lights. We mostly grow lettuce Wayne's suggestion Muir is not ready yet. Also have a couple of tomatoes in dutch buckets about 4". Only started with hydroponics a month ago. Most web sites are in the mid to southern states so I wasn't sure if it would work up here and then I found you guys.

      located in Clearview, southern Georgian Bay. I'm sure lights would help but it's hard to warrant the expense on such a small scale. I know my times are pretty close to double yours across the board from sprouting to harvesting.

    So this might be a dumb question but I have an order for 30 lb of lettuce per week and was wondering how many trays it would take to grow that much. I know it's going to depend on what variety and such but if you could give an average that would help me a lot thank you

    • @Growwiththelaplantes
      @Growwiththelaplantes  4 роки тому

      Hi,
      Not a dumb question at all. You can harvest anywhere from 3-8lbs per trough ( depending on variety) tropicana is the best for weight for the winter season and muir for the summer. It all depends on your growing conditions, and weight increases through the summer months. Where are you located?

      I use a sponge but a specific kind, not the ones used for cleaning. You can order these on Ebay, AliBaba. They are called _grow sponge_ , made usually from an in inert food grade foam or melamine, and they are 100x cheaper when bought in bulk than most grow cubes (i.e. rockwool, rapid rooter, jiffy cubes, etc). I received some 400 cubes last time for $5.
