My mate's got one he wanted to demolish the shed it was parked in not been going for at least 10 years gave it a pull and it fired straight up didn't even put fresh fuel in it lovely sounding engine.
Cracking little tractor, I remember driving one with a set of gang mowers as a lad. It was left for dead at the local cricket club and bought by my uncle, now used to drive a home made log splitter 👍
This year we inherited a petrol/ tvo fergie 1954 it’s been fully restored and is currently in hiding under blankets in the shed hoping for a bit of a ru out next year. Great video as always Ford as much as I love my Deere’s I think the Ford is easier to save!!!
I’ve got a TEF diesel here in Australia it’s what I first learnt to drive before a car love the thing, pulls a 7 tine case chisel plow and 14 plate Daniel Harvey trailing disc
Not everyones cup of tea but still a great little tractor. Really enjoyed that vid. Started dating herself nearly 5 years ago and was being introduced to her parents and her dad could see straight away I was a country boy and liked my toys. Within 5 minutes of meeting him we were out in the shed chatting about this and that, BUT in the corner was this 4 cylinder tef, stripped down to nearly the last bolt, parts everywhere. Interest caught me and asked about it. It was sitting there in the corner stripped like that for nearly 30 years ENGINE NEAR SIZED and he said, sometime ill get that going. And I was laughing in my head sayin ya that'll never see the light of day again. Well following winter he got the motivation and began by pouring kerosene and waste oil mix into cylinders every evening and giving it a very slight turn on the pully, repeated process for several weeks untill he got the full roatation freely. Put her all back together and painted her up. That tractor will start hail rain snow or frost now. Gave him an old transport box I had and he flys around on it doing on jobs. Real credit to him. Ford 3000, like my massys but a ford man at heart 👍
Brings back happy memories of my TEF20 tractor restoration in 1987. First engine I stripped & rebuilt, started & ran lovely. Only thing was it had the Standard car exhaust manifold, so the vertical exhaust wasn't vertical. Keep up the great vid's Sir.
I have a tea50 ferguson and I'm amazed how similar the petrol model is to the diesel. On mine where the aux tank and starter fluid tank is my battery is there. When I got mine the thermostat housing was so corroded it had been leaking onto the rocker cover and rotted that out too. Got it cheap because it would only run for a few minutes and then die. The fuel tap was so clogged because the pre filter was missing
If the heater plug works and the cold start button on the pump they will start no problem. No need for easy start because they will only start knocking and tapping. Mine starts no bother in any weather.
Had a 35 TVO with the 4 cylinder 87mm. What a massive piece of shite that thing was. Had it for four years and it never ran right, replaced the head gasket, rebuilt the carb and replaced all the gaskets that could allow a vacuum leak. Replaced the timing chain, fitted electronic ignition to get rid of those pesky points. And much more.... Still ran like shit so it was sold.
The smile on both of your faces when the tractor starts moving is priceless 😂. It’s what it’s all about👍 top job, nice to see things being done properly
Just a point - I was always told to wash a car (i know, not a tractor) if it had been sat. The theory being you can see what the bodywork is like before starting work, bodywork being more expensive to sort than (some) mechanical issues. love the intro!
Afternoon muck. Would be interesting to see more of the ford 3000 as definitely a machine I was very fond of when I started work have a good weekend all
Timing is everything with those 20c engines. As soon as the timing chain wears they become hard to start. Great content at the minute. we appreciate the effort that goes into making them!
Only the interior decorator kind of barstool mechanic would claim that washing something makes it run better. Fix it first, wash it later. Make it go before you bother to show. Otherwise you've still got nothing but a better looking lawn ornament. Great vid, as usual Kurt. I'd have to vote for the Ford 3000 next.
I used to drive a diesel 20 when I a kid and occasionally got to drive the MF35 which had the 3 cylinder engine and was awesome. I managed to get my self a MF35x a couple of years ago and it is really awesome. When it comes to sniff farmers always said ‘don’t use easy start or it will always need it to start’ but its like no! it just needs it to start because its rubbish when its cold. PS l like the video clips you pop in there, stuff the whining wallies I say. ;-)
I laughed when you talked about washing before you know if will run. I know people that constantly wash and detail their stuff. Went to look at a pickup truck a few years ago the guy advertised it was well looked after after looking at it for awhile the guy had towels on his carpet he tells me its to keep the carpet clean yup carpet looks brand new look under truck floor rusted out probably from shampooing the carpet and not drying it out truck was dented allover paint peeled off from holding pressure washer to close rust holes wires were a mess all butchered the truck was really a piece of crap but it was clean but damm that carpet was like new. So my understanding is doesn't matter how bad the vehicle may be but that clean carpet must be a selling feature. In my opinion if said vehicle has comfy seats and carpet i kinda like to enjoy the comfort before vehicle is worn out. Correct me if I'm wrong but why would anyone cover that stuff up except for service procedures and now at the end of vehicle's life vehicle dead but damm look at that carpet and seats ROFLMFAO 💩💩💩🤣😂🤣😂👍👍
smiths enginering works of cookstown ni used to modify the cylinder heads on these tractors by enlarging the pre combustion chamber openings made them much better starting
Normally I would say close enough on a machine, that one you just worked on seems to have a decent paint job and could use a bit of a rub and think it would shine like a pretty girls smile. Only reason I mention it is one of the condition looks nice from five thousand miles away... maybe some bruises on the grill but fixable and second when nice like that, operators tend to be a little nicer to it as others just get what they get is respect for them. Looks good enough to me to get shelter in the winters left in that tractors life and let it die a bit more respectfully ... just a comment and nothing more. I happen to like those tractors as well and just looks tired from not maintenanced
Thank you for this. Long time subscriber, 1st time comment. I have two old landini 75f advantage. Trying to get them running so I can get my farm up and running. Welcome to come visit us in sunny RSA
I cut my farming teeth on a Fergie 20, it had rear wheels from a 165 on it, and would pull two loaded trailers. At 15 I thought I was the DBs, roaring up the main A22 with two loads of straw behind. Never crossed my mind that I might have to stop quick. Over 50yrs ago now, but I wish I was back there.
The little ford 3000 for me, mind you John deere would be ok too. Anyway I'm not bothered thanks for finding the time to film and upload the video's and keeping us entertained...👍👍👍
I'll admit to cleaning but partly because when I get something crusty I dump all the fuel into a bucket and use it with some brushes to clean. Then it goes in the old waste oil pot.
Great vid kurt, good ol fergie there, got a 1948 tea20 with the slightly newer engine in, in the garage which is abit of a temperamental bugger, I say the 2130 vid
I've heard a lot about the Standard 4 cylinder diesels, but I've never had any personal experience with them. This one seemed to run great though! The Standard petrol engines are solid, we've got 2 of them and they are great engines!
Were I am from (Canada), people love their old Massy Fergusons, I think with a Perkins diesels. Correct me if I am wrong, but they are all over the place, many old but still going.
My brother's got the Ferguson Te20 started out life as PP and is now a P3 Perkins. His one is a 1945 he reckons it was coveted but in the 60s. Never fails to start he has just replaced the front axle support. Belarus looking forward to seeing it. Ford 3000 pls buddy.👌👍
Since I'm a Ford fan, I pick the Ford. My grandfather had a Ferguson, the gas (petrol) engine. I believe it was the Continental. My dad then inherited it and recently sold it. Unfortunately the rust started taking over, but it was still a good tractor. The engine running sounded like a WW1 biplane. 😄
have you never come across a york diesel transsit ,i owned one years ago when it was really freezing used to stick 2 gallons of petrol in with diesel to aid starting the beast ,i found if over did the petrol she used to knock
I remember my grandad having a Standard vanguard and him cursing every time he wanted to go out that it was a twat to get going. He died in 1975 ( I was only 6). My Dad inherited it, and the car went away on a trailer very soon after. Ford please sir.
Just wondering what a guy would put in his ki-gas pump these days anyway? I asked a few old fellers a while ago and that sparked an argument that you put eather in it and others swore you just put diesel in it because it pumps that much you'd blow the block clean in half with a 200 shot of the good stuff
I remember that York engine that went into Taxi’s there was no way you could start them without ether, came with an ether feed from the factory, I suppose it’s one step better than the old shotgun cartridge, or even worse the slow match (it’s gone out !) don’t ask !!

Glad we both agree about the engine 😂I had one was my first tractor when I was 13 or so ended up swapping it for a early petrol tvo 35 best thing I ever did still got the massy 35 now
Interesting engine ,never seen a gray Ferguson diesel here in the states, have two Massey Ferguson here 1964 65 Diesel with a direct injection 203 , 14,750 hrs await its first engine over haul ( came new to the farm in 64
john deere please if you get an opportunity to do a will it start with an old lorry like a scammell or something that would be great to see, something a bit different.
John Deere. :) My dad had a standard vanguard with the Massey 2.25 petrol in it you couldn’t drive past any petrol station in the land. Sounded great through a side pipe though.
Love her grin at 14:15 when the tractor moves off.
One of the best little tractors ever made!!
I know a couple of guys in Norway that these, left out all summer, when the snow comes, the battery goes back in and they are used for snow clearing
Ford 3000. Earlier this year a guy came and topped the field opposite our cottage with a diesel Fergie. 70 years old and still doing good work.
and the tractor ?...
Love the knowledge that you give. Cheers to you and the lass!
I’m 14 and I have just restored on if these tractors during lockdown
Nice job 👍
Thanks
That’s great! I’m 15 and doing up a Nuffield 4/65 at the moment 👍
my dad have a Nuffield Mini.

It's a good feeling 😉
3000 every day mate. You can push the JD back in to the hedge, that's where it belongs 😄
I had a tvo and a tef , loved them both so easy to work on and fun to spin around in.
I used to drive a 3000 at a park district when I was 18. I have a soft spot for them. Please show the Ford.
Oh and like the new opening sequence.
Very posh! Do well!
Brilliant what a tractor . Well done . TO BOTH of you
Really like the introduction, if it is not new, then I've been asleep @ the switch.
No, it's the first time I've used it Bill.
I think the little tank was for the Ki Gass pump. It pumped fuel over an ignitor coil in the inlet manifold.
No, its an auxiliary fuel tank - the Ki-gas tank is the one up top on the R/H side.
I absolutely love my tef, not hard to start at all and does everything I ask of it
Just a point - I was always told to wash a car (i know, not a tractor) if it had been sat. The theory being you can see what the bodywork is like before starting work, bodywork being more expensive to sort than (some) mechanical issues. love the intro!
There's not a lot of bodywork to worry about on a tractor...
Afternoon muck. Would be interesting to see more of the ford 3000 as definitely a machine I was very fond of when I started work have a good weekend all
I put a little P3Perkins in one ,35hp worked great , great wheel barrow!

I'd enjoy seeing the Deere get run through, just because of personal history, but I'm sure I'll enjoy either for content. Thanks for the content.
2130 👌 been so long since we last saw it that I think a little re-cap would be ideal!
smiths enginering works of cookstown ni used to modify the cylinder heads on these tractors by enlarging the pre combustion chamber openings made them much better starting
That's interesting ! I wonder if this has been machined ?
Learnt to drive on a small Massey Ferguson and I'd guess that many other subscribers did too

Great vid as usual, lovely to see the old fergie my grandad had the petrol tvo one lovely little tractor in it's day.
My vote goes for the Ford 3000
John Deere
Loving the new intro. And great vid, yet again.
Looks like ive lots fun to look forward to rebuilding a siezedengine in my TEF.
Great job the big smile when it moved says it all thanks for the video and all your hard work and I'd like to see the John Deere thank you Michael UK
Very well don't loved the vid and the start ..awsome ...till the next vid godbless and be safe

Was the JD 2130 the tractor with hydraulic drive on the front axle? Great little video fixing up that cute little machine
Yes it was Don 👍
I remember my grandad having a Standard vanguard and him cursing every time he wanted to go out that it was a twat to get going. He died in 1975 ( I was only 6). My Dad inherited it, and the car went away on a trailer very soon after. Ford please sir.
😂
NEW INTRO IS BOSS!! Well done MUKKAH!! An ill be happy with whatever video you put up😏 im sure all your videos are GOOD SHIT MAN!
Just wondering what a guy would put in his ki-gas pump these days anyway? I asked a few old fellers a while ago and that sparked an argument that you put eather in it and others swore you just put diesel in it because it pumps that much you'd blow the block clean in half with a 200 shot of the good stuff
It's meant to be diesel but the old boys used to mix various stuff to give a little 'Extra'....
Learned to drive on a wee massey 35. That needed dragged down the yard to get going of a morning lol.
Ford 3000
Ford 300 . Love the old fergies I dont live on a farm or even have acces to one but I would love to own a little fergie .
I remember that York engine that went into Taxi’s there was no way you could start them without ether, came with an ether feed from the factory, I suppose it’s one step better than the old shotgun cartridge, or even worse the slow match (it’s gone out !) don’t ask !!
Film us the Ford 3000 lad - I like the look of it. First tractor I ever put a clutch in myself in the field after finishing Ag Mech Course in 87..
Good vid, interesting idea to go with something relatively simple. Like the start intro, although there was a second when the Ford 8830 appeared that it gave a very George Saunders deja vu moment. And was that the Belarus crawler making a move? Looking for to the next video of the Belarus and the others to come. Again not desperately bothered about which first but for the count the Ford 3000.
Saunders would grind the gears in an 8830 Powershift 😂

It's an igniter for the Ki-Gas fuel, notice how the plumbing comes in directly above.
It ignites the fuel causing a flame to heat the induction charge before it gets into the cylinder.
Quite a good system in its day.
So can it be used stand alone or only when using the Ki-gas system ?
@@LordMuck Not really, heater plugs are mainly directly into the cylinder or pre-cylinder chamber where the heat from a glow plug is effective, these are too far away to be of any use as a stand alone system.
Get it all up and running and it's a good wee system for winter time.
I know where you're coming from regarding the Standard engines, they were a bit gutless, run forever though.
Several engines (without Ki-gas) will have a heater element in the inlet manifold to warm the air before it goes into the head. I'm wondering if this would work in the same way. The Ford 3000 had this as an option (though mine hasn't) I reckon I'll have that manifold off and see as it would be handy to have with/without using the Ki-gas system.
PS..... Love your DBs & Major crawlers.
I worked in the timber industry for 35 years and always wanted a Major crawlers with a Boughton winch on it, we had the wheeled version and indeed, it is still running to this day in the family sawmill, not bad for a '55 tractor which has had a hellishly rough time over the years.
Majors, best tractor ever bar none👍👍
Quite agree start first wash after ! And Ford 3000 please !😊👍
There was an old petrol paraffin Fergie where I worked many years ago. Start her on petrol then turn her over to paraffin . She was a reliable old tractor too.
i owned 2 of the tvo engine fergys not a lot of good on a plant setter as they did not run a constant speed
Loving the new intro......nice little fergie that 👍
Glad you like it
Another good video , love the Fergie's , Restored a few of them myself. Lets see the Ford 3000. Everyone is doing JD's. Keep safe
Back in the day, we used to convert these to a P3 engine,
i would like it for ploughing matches as is
That was the first tractor i drove on the road the other was the old Fordson major
U da man you say it how it is no messing around and talking bollocks u just just say how it is love it
Lord Muck, you and the young lady make a good team. I watched her help you on the dozer too. Bring on the 3000 Ford.
Great video on the fergie. John Deere 2130 for the video.
Great video, nice little tractor, send it!!!! Ford 3000.
is that little fuel tank what is known as a balance tank, to keep the diesel at a constant pressure
Yes basically like that.
What about the wheeled David brown next to one of the crawlers
What about it ?
Glad we both agree about the engine 😂I had one was my first tractor when I was 13 or so ended up swapping it for a early petrol tvo 35 best thing I ever did still got the massy 35 now
Interesting engine ,never seen a gray Ferguson diesel here in the states, have two Massey Ferguson here 1964 65 Diesel with a direct injection 203 , 14,750 hrs await its first engine over haul ( came new to the farm in 64
I don't think they exported the diesels Greg
👍🏻👍🏻 keep up good work
I think your lass has a new toy lol
john deere please
if you get an opportunity to do a will it start with an old lorry like a scammell or something that would be great to see, something a bit different.
John Deere. :)
My dad had a standard vanguard with the Massey 2.25 petrol in it you couldn’t drive past any petrol station in the land. Sounded great through a side pipe though.
I bet it sounded lovely.
Kurt could you explain the starting procedure on the fergie please as I was surprised to see it started by a lever, great vid as normal.
Fucked if I know - you jam the gear stick 'over there' and sometimes it fires up !
@@LordMuck don't forget to press switch in with side of boot. If it's still working. A feature only TEF had

She is happiest when she is moving, same might be said for the tractor as well.
dear john, looks like a weapon with those steel wheels. great vid enjoyed it.
Nice .looks like a massy 135 like my dad had .but his was reg fuel but ya I love that style of tractor ..so looking forward to this vid
Cool new intro Kurt, Ford 3000, good stuff:):)
