15 Difficult Scenes To Film In Stranger Things

- Stranger Things has some of the most intense scenes put to screen! And that is in large part thanks to the incredible actors that bring the show to life. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink are just a few of the amazing actors that give their all into creating their characters. This level of intensity means sometimes things get dangerous on set, both physically and mentally. There are numerous examples of our favorite actors losing their voices due to screaming too much. One actor stated they lost their voice nearly every day while shooting! There were also plenty of injuries to go around. From scrapes and bruises, contacts that burned eyes, temperatures that ranged from freezing cold to scorching hot, and nauseating stunts that made actors throw up, filming these scenes was no joke.
There was also the mental side of filming. Many of these actors were part of emotionally exhausting and mentally draining scenes. This would lead to actors crying before, during, and after shooting. Some scenes got really intense, to the point where the actors had to comfort each other when the cameras weren’t rolling. Balancing raw emotions with intense physicality was tricky at times. In one particular incident, it led to an actor putting his head through a glass window.

everyone is such good actors but dacre, millie and noah really got to show off their acting chops with such intense scenes for this show even though they had to go through some of the hardest stuff, it really payed off

Sadie sink’s character Max has developed massively in season 4. Her acting is phenomenal!

Don't froget fear street . A couple of Stranger things folks were in there, but in the 2nd episode (1976) that she's in, you can spot the "Max personality" immediately.
I know this is off subject but honestly I think some of the it( the clown movie) cast could of played on stranger things like Sophia lillis could of played max and jack dylan grazer could of played will
And Bill Skarsgård could’ve played Henry
I honestly HATED Billy's character but watching this makes me like him he worked really hard on this role and did amazing !

Dacre Montgomery and Millie Bobby Brown are so amazing. I'm so sad that Billy will no longer be in stranger things, maybe a flash back perhaps? Dacre did an amazing job I could feel his emotion during these scenes

fr, you gotta respect them for what they did im the show. especially millie, she had to shave her head, she was feeling sick while filming when she closed the gate, in it was her first kiss, and im pretty sure that part where she fell into mikes arms after throwing dacre through the wall was real. I never noticed until now how much she did for the show.

I can’t imagine how upset Dacre was when he broke the class open with his head, and then figured out they wouldn’t even be using that clip in the show!
Would be pissed and embarrassed. I gave that much effort only to have that scene cut from the public.

I just watched season 4 ep 4, and Sadie's acting ripped a fresh hole in my heart. Her reading the letter at the grave and the running scene at the end toward the light, omg! Her genuinely desperate expression on her face... I wept. 😭
and yet she’s the under dog she gets paid the least on set!!!!

I'm so excited for the upcoming season. The best moment for me was Will describing to Joyce what being possessed felt like, I got so much chills from Noah's performance.

What's really impressive is that knowing how some of these scenes were filmed only adds to how impressive their execution really is. The acting, the writing, the directing, the special effects, everything about this show is ridiculously good. Barely known anything like it in terms of production value.
I miss Billy as a character so much. If he lived Steve and him would have been a great friendship taking care of the children.

Dacre Montgomery Deserves more credit, it’s not easy playing the villain, especially if it’s not the way you act irl.
Knowing those facts from the sauna scenes and then rewatching those in the series gives it even more intensity when knowing what happened while they filmed it. Millie and Dacre are absolutely phenomenal actors!
Everyone in stranger things are amazing actors but Noah, Millie and Dacre showed the most emotion, and went through tough things just to film scenes. I think they are true actors
It sounds like the set is only bad when it comes to emotional scenes, and that is only because the actors give it every thing they have. This truly is an amazing crew

Just to add to the Max and Lucas kiss scene, it was actually Millie's idea to add it in last minute. She said her and Sadie were having a sleepover and Sadie got worked up about having her first kiss on camera but Millie talked her through
It’s insane that Millie screams till she cries, literally goes until she throws up, and more just to TRULY make the scene the best it can be.

These kids are so dedicated to their craft--I keep reminding myself they were only teenagers during filming! The cast really gives their all for this show, and it's what makes Stranger Things so special.

These scenes are so intense I can't imagine how taxing trying to get emotions right I just got a new found appreciation for actors like its more then executing the scene but its even being a daredevil and getting your body and mind prepared
Billy and El are such great actors A+ all of them are good actors but those 2 are the most dedicated ive never seen someone try so hard to film a scene

Im glad you are trying to bring back the hype for stranger things, because now that it was canceled and continued so many times, it has been so long that a lot of people just forgot about the show, and now season 4 is coming out and not many people are that excited. I loved the show, it was awesome, but, it isn't what it used to be.
The dedicaiton and talent in this cast is absolutely incredible.
Season 3 was definitely the most hard for the actors and was a roller coaster of emotions

im concerned, how are they legally putting minors through loosing their voices EVERY DAY and throwing up on set constantly, and the temperatures of the water and the sets REALLY needs to be regulated that is a terrible environment to be in. I dont believe that there was no way to heat up the water thats a copout, and if you are damaging your voice every single day for that long of a time period that is definitely going to lead to health issues later on is it not?
I mean factoring in the amountcofvin between takes they have to do even when one messes up lines,the amount of money it costs each day to film episodes and sometimes episodes take up to three days .The fact that there are more than fifty people off set ,for makeup and directors and sound people who are also affected .It all comes down to just doing it regardless coz everyone is also having a hard time .And that is where commitment comes in .
They sign a crap ton of papers and also get paid big bucks

I was just going to say this. The kids/young adults won’t know the how much the trauma they are putting their bodies through in the name of acting will impact them in the long term. Sounds like unsafe practices to me (nausea, heat exhaustion). Encouraging Method acting is not the way.

billy and eleven are the most strongest actors there, im so proud of them truly great actors same to all of the actors in stranger things.
This just shows how actors can really get so deep into their roles that it can be a difficult and painful process to come back.
I'm so glad that even tho it's just a show, even out of the shootings and casting they are all good friends. As well in the actual show they all stayed in touch since season 1 all the way till now.
Billy is such a great actor, i feel extremely sad that he’s not gonna be in the next season. He was just incredible, too bad he died in the movie, he was great. And so was mille, such a natural actor.
