Very impressive, I’ve used pretty much the same pump from a Volvo on many different engine conversions but I have always just ran it in its fail safe mode by just supplying it 12v on the enable wire, I love the fact you figured out how to get it to change speeds with the Hall effect sensor or whatever that is on the column
That was pretty good way to integrate power steering back in the Rover. Yea too bad it sounds like it runs at 80% speed when its idle. You think there would be a way to turn it off until the steering is moved to save power? Maybe a time delay shut off if no input for so many minutes, but while driving it will stay on.
Yeh, would be easy to integrate an auto turn off if necessary. Will see what it's like when the vehicle is much quieter (at the moment I can't hear it at all with the engine running).

Nice!!! When are you going to pull the engine?
Thanks. Getting close... Still a few more things to do beforehand :)
Jeebus it’s noisy! Louder than the mighty 4BD1
Ha, I don't think anything is noisier than a 4BD1!
What! No heated steering wheel.
I might wait till you get your model Y and try to extract it from that. 🙂
