If you can't find or don't want to use paper towels, you can buy the swiffer(or off brand) dry floor pads. They are thin like the original wipes, and even dollar tree sells them.
This is the best one I have seen yet! Thank you! I always like using the Clorox Disinfectant wipes and they "still" do not have them in our area! It is very upsetting. Paper towels can be hard too to get but we have been lucky, to maybe get the last one or two on a shelf. I think stores just do not always order enough and some people are buying up all they can of everything, Certainly will be using this recipe. Disinfectant wipes and sprays are the most important.
Carol Weaver Thank you. To make it easy you can mix solution and fill in the spray bottle and use paper towels separate so that way you can make fresh every day or in every 2days.
FYI, bleach water effectiveness after about 24 hours reduces by 50%. It’s why, per medical guidelines, you can only use a bleach water 1:9 solution for 24 hours before tossing and starting a new batch.
Thank you! I wouldn't make it with bleach (use disinfectant in the proper amounts instead), but can see it's easy to do. Saved me running around town just looking for wipes!
I made it just how you explain it, but the paper towels completely desintegrated I couldn’t use them, I used paper towels from Costco and even tried Bounty. Which brand should I use?
Have heard that you should use a solid color not clear, to shade light out , how about those empty coffee containers I have those big ones from Costco, they work great, also to help seal lid tighter I guess a piece of plastic wrap would do.
My skin is crawling to hear the paper being cut n makes me want to squeeze my teeth so tightly together lolol 😆 but thanks for this information i well be doing this today so thanks God bless stay safe
As has been said here many times, Clorox wipes do not contain bleech. Bleech can damage clothes and surfaces of various types. As an alternative, I use baby wipes. I treat one package with rubbing alcohol for my hands when I am away from home, and for cleaning purchased items before refrigerating or putting them away in cupboards. The second I soak in Hydrogen peroxide to use on surfaces, handles, and door knobs in the house. Baby wipes hold up and last until used.
Unfortunately bleach is the only thing that kills some viruses such as norovirus but yes the store bought Clorox wipes she has here do not contain bleach like the ones she made does.
Ty for video. I just ran out today. I would suggest people please wear gloves when using bleach or any other cleaning products. If it can dissolve grease and grime it can dissolve your skin. Just trying to help.
two things beach is only good for 1 year shelf life then dispose of it. secondly bleach water solution must be mixed and added to your towels every week just like pool water otherwise it break down too far to be effective. so make a new batch of beach water for this weekly.
Thank u for the idea. Plus for anyone else if u cannot find Clorox bleach at stores as well u can download the app, wish. They have antibacterial, antibacterial wipes, toilet paper and all else we need right now. Masks, gloves just make sure one u look up the item u shop for the best prices. Some stores are outrageous. Found toilet paper and got 25 rolls for $18.00 plus $8.00 shipping. Yes lot of money more the. The stores but when u r desperate just giving u all another option. Plus gotten masks for good prices and a item that is like a uv box and cleanse gloves, masks and all for u to reuse or u can always just spray with Lysol spray which is easier to get from stores and spray your masks and gloves and leave outside in your garage for overnight. Learned that from friend who works at the hospital. Stay safe everyone and another fyi seen this one guy post that everyone asked him his secret cause their country is safe now but he went out everyday for work and he said he took probiotics and zicam besides washing hands everytime. Airborn, vitam and all is great as well. ❤️
Great video. I suggest a pack of baby wipes instead. Clorox is good but Lysol can be used as well for replacement in case of rash or allergies. Water should be cold to avoid inactivation of clorox. Clorox power dont last for many days.
I have (had) Clorox brand disinfecting wipes here and although this brand does make bleach, there isn't any bleach in the wipes. The label says "Bleach-Free". Hmmmm..... hard pass.
Sonia H the wipes are made with Dimethylbenzyl Ammonium Chloride . It’s the same ingredient that is in Lysol . You don’t need bleach to disinfect . You can disinfect with just about anything Rubbing Alcohol , Vinager , Hydrogen Peroxide , Fabuloso , etc.
So, this method seems so helpful and easy... but Clorox smell is too strong. Can we use alcohol instead, and can something be added about the smell ... (and, is it bad to touch these without rubber gloves)??
Not true if you keep a lid on it. A bottle of clorox doesn't lose its potency. If you put clorox water in an open container like a 5 gallon bucket it will lose but not if you put it in a container that is air tight.
best way is fill up your Your sink with water and bleach you can use a rag or you can use paper towels or you can put it in a spray bottle and wipe it with your paper towels this way you won't waste your paper towels and you don't have to cut and you can use how much you want get an empty spray bottle water and bleach to your smell disinfect everything
The Clorox brand wipes use quaternary ammonium chlorides as the active ingredient, they are not bleach based wipes. The wipes made in this video are not the same. Once mixed bleach disinfectant solution is only good for 24 hours, and will require are pre-cleaning step before disinfection.
lshark1800 that’s what I thought. I know a couple CNAs and they tell me they throw out bleach and water solutions within 24 hours and make a new batch. Some people are saying it’s the same because it’s not exposed to air since it in a container. Sadly I can’t find anything online for or against either argument

LTR LTR wow, really? Poor people cleaning them with this solutions prepared ahead is like simple water, and I really hope you are not a nurse. Nurse at least knows the basic chemistry behind the effectiveness of diluted Clorox. My God
Great idea but chlorine bleach doesn’t last. It is very effective for disinfecting but you can only use your diluted bleach solution once as the hypochlorite responsible for killing germs is not stable. You need to make it fresh every time.
Clorox solution has to be protected from light as it breaks down from the light. Make a cardboard cover and tape it with duct tape or masking tape to keep out the light. A coffe can is perfect because it is not see through or a spray bottle that does not let light in.
I followed to a T and used a high quality paper towel...Bounty & by day 2 I had a blob of paper towels that disintegrated. What went wrong & did anyone else have this problem??
Great vid and just when I made a roll I found out Clorox mixed with water is only good for 24-48 hrs. If that's the case I've been wasting my money purchasing Clorox wipes at Sam's n Costco's. Please tell me this isn't true
Clorox mixed with tapwater is only good for a maximum of 24 hours. I'm not sure what Clorox is doing on their own wipes but they have some kind of proprietary process that prevents this rapid degradation, homemade wipes are not the same as the commercial product.
I did a little research, most Clorox wipes don't even contain bleach, the ones that do are clearly marked "With Bleach". In addition the ones that contain bleach also contain about a dozen other chemicals to stabilize it and make sure it lasts a few months instead of one day.
Yeah, the bleach will corrode the towels over time. I use a 1:9 bleach water solution in a spray bottle with shop heavy-duty paper towels for EVERYTHING!
If you can't find or don't want to use paper towels, you can buy the swiffer(or off brand) dry floor pads. They are thin like the original wipes, and even dollar tree sells them.
good idea, thank-you !
Yes I have been buying the swifter wipes at the dollar store they work perfect
I'm going to have a look for that. Thanks much!
This is a good idea. Also just an FYI the mixture is on the Clorox bottle. It tells you how much to mix
Ct Bt thank you!
But cannot be stored and used for more than 24 hours. The bleach will no longer work after that because of the water.
@@LeeKeels all depends on the ratio actually.

I suggest using the stringer blue automotive towel rolls.
niacal4nia yes that will work
Doesn't the blue coloring come out a d mix into the bleach?
LG0500 a great alternative is the Viva towels . They don’t fall apart when wet and they are not dyed .
LG0500 The blue paper “shop” towels lose some of the color, but does not make the liquid blue (i.e. does not stain anything when using it).
Agree strongly!
Thank you very much. I haven't been able to buy this for three months, and this is the end of my worry.
Thank you!!! Your video was short yet very effective. I specially appreciate you encouraging us to by good quality paper towels.
