You get more things done in a single day than i get done in an entire year
😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is field research tho, only takes like 3 weeks and then they have months at the desk to analyse all the data
ADHD people don't like routines
#ultrarelatable
I've never watched your videos before. But as soon as you said, about scrubbing buoys, "I do it, and I do it with pleasure," I knew you're a good guy to listen to. That's exactly the right attitude to have about the menial tasks in life.
my guy, why does it take 40 minutes to eat cereal
in my opinion, 40 minutes is too quick
Maybe he checks his social media and stuff as well at this time
LLOLLL this is funny
Kai this video is awesome!
7:10AM: Brush teeth.
A truly essential part of Aquatic Biologist's routine
He has to make practice for the cleaning of instruments later 😂 (just kidding)
If his breath stinks, fish are not going to come close
I'm liking this channel so far. Relaxing vibe (not to take away from the hard work you're doing, of course ;).
a video with 0 dislikes, amazing this is a treasure
yayy im so happy you're doing this work in places like French Polynesia and Mo'orea :))))
Wow that's amazing
Wow this looks incredible! I work remotely on reefs from the Phoenix Islands (central pacific ocean) but I've never gotten to go out there. Loved the video!
This is so cool✨
Thank you for all the questions and interest about my summer in Moorea, French Polynesia! I finally recorded a video that explains how I got into marine science and ultimately why I ended up leaving the field.
ua-cam.com/video/LMu3KySsBHE/v-deo.html
I recommend watching this video if you are interested in a marine science career.
Gump Station! gotta love it!!
this guy is very brave to sleep without any covers
Looks so fun
I can't believe I rot in a office, while there are people getting paid to be on vacation!
its much more in depth than just going on vacation
its probably unpaid
And work with a hot boss with abs.
yea... it's a lot more than that. This guy showed the fun of the job, but it's not all fun and games. They have to write extensive thesis papers, apply for funding(competitively for their research), and do lab work A LOT(which can sometimes be fun ig), and all for not a whole lot of income.
@@mika1918 Also let's not forget people fund these things so they'd come back with results. If they don't find anything new in those corals, they may not get more funding next season.
This is literally my dream job
Thanks for sharing.
amazing😃😃
This is a fantastic video. Nice job. I guess your laptop computer is working okay?
Your name and your profession sounds cool AF.
Yare Yare Daze!
I'm 14 ... and I have dreamed of doing this job my whole life ... but I live in south africa... and have been watching videos to see if the field really is what I think it is ... and I'm slowly finding out that it isnt all just going out in the ocean and exploring... so I'm a lil nervous... any advice
@@dinobadger7370 wow thanks dino ... that really boosted my confidence in becoming a marine biologist 🙌
Another thing I’d like to add to the guy above me, is that the fun parts are going to be more fun when you go through the boring ones too. If everything is fun, none of it is. You’ll learn to appreciate the boring times more because it makes you slow down and relax, even if on the surface you think it’s hard work and you hate it. It makes the great parts all that much more enjoyable
I'm 14 as well and I live in arizona where its all dry and To be honest I feel exactly the same way
Same, I’m young and want to be a marine biologist but I scared I won’t be able to fully dedicate myself to it during the boring parts

this is literally the only life i want to ive
Would love to be in your shoes my friend! ❤️
I want to be a marine biologist because it will be so rewarding
Even this mans breakfast is on theme, he is really trying
Ok so some questions do you work for some one? how much do you get paid? do you have to buy the diving gear? and what state is that?
Are you a dive safty officer? I assumed because you had to clean the scuba gear etc and if so then is it hard?
bro being able to walk to work in shorts and no shoes is my dream
Is this like a specific job you can get? or is this just for your studies?
Notice that it has no dislikes
What’s the difference between a marine biologist and an aquatic biologist
Really like that work,
What do you do when the weather isn’t good?
how do you find work like this. Is it hard to find a job as a Marine biologist?
Hello Kai. I had a question about your work load. I was thinking of joining UCSB. I just visited the campus and I loved it. If I go there, I would also love to join their swim team. Do you think it would be possible to swim as well as apply with plans to major in aquatic biology? I understand I would enter as a pre-biology major question then petition to declare as an aquatic biologist. I ask because it seems like your mornings are quite occupied. Thank you, nice video btw :)
It's definitely possible to complete your major while swimming (though your time might be limited). I would intern part-time (5-10 hours/week) for labs at UCSB during the school year and then apply for full-time field positions in the summer. I made this video while I was working a summer position in Moorea so it doesn't necessarily reflect the workload that you would experience during the school year :)
omg you're famous
am I missing something, guy only at 2 meals his whole day. I would be dead
Wait… so you went to UCSB and you’re a marine biologist in Tahiti/Mo’orea?
Any advice for an aspiring student studying marine bio at a UC? Any cool research opportunities I should be aware of?
Jaden Hansen can you help me? I have no idea where to start. What schools are good
@@lilianachavero4120 I don't know for sure but I've heard that the University of Hawai'i at Manoa is a great for marine biology and also Oregon State University and UC Santa Cruz
Lyly the Clown thank you!!! 🥺❤️❤️
@@lilianachavero4120 the University of New England (located in Maine) also has a Marine Biology program that i think is pretty good www.une.edu/cas/marine/undergraduate/marine-sciences
Guys do you think this makes you to work under sea and research centres
cool content you've got there!! even your name is aqua related, cute.
this work undergoes governmental work or master studies ?
I am still undergraduate but i have never seen any graduate do what you're doing. please keep in touch
This is an undergraduate field position! I received the funding for this summer internship through the Moorea Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) lab. There was some additional funding provided by the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.
How did I know you were a runner from the start lol
I found a bone on a beach in central Florida and perplexed what it’s from. I’m trying to find a marine biologist who can help determine
were they slightly larger? They might be pig bones
please tell us about all ur marine books, love from bengal, india
What type of Marine Biologist are you?
Does it pay good
How do you wright underwater????
Special paper and pen it’s pretty cool
Did you spend 5 or 8 years of studies before becoming a biologist ?
is this the same as marine bioligy
What’s the difference between the marine and the aquatic biologists? I say this because I’m curious if the difference is big enough to change the plans of someone.
aquatic is freshwater and saltwater while marine is only saltwater :)
What country do you live in?
I have that backpack
This job is great, but I feel like the pay isn't. But ofcourse this would depend on how good your boss is at securing funding.
Why do you brush your teath before eating
is this hawaii or california ucsb?
How do get paid like for what
Where is this??
What is the white net you sleep under
most likely to keep all the bugs away
Interesting I thought it was some way to keep moisture in the air to help stay cool since it might get hot.
@@yunggunncris there are things that take away moisture from the air and also add it but those are actual machines not pieces of cloth
@@yunggunncris but yea bug nets are popular in places with well bugs lol
If you are interested in getting some hands on field experience alongside you degree you can check out the Cape RADD Marine Biology Field Course in SA. www.caperadd.com and UA-cam channel
So sad I got rejected for aquatic bio... going to UCSC tho for marine bio!
Jaden Hansen what’s the difference?
pls reply that comment👆👆
@@marleemccormick3639 Aquatic biology focuses more on freshwater bodies of water like lakes and river, rather than saltwater oceans like marine biology does.
ChokeholdGold thank u!
@@marleemccormick3639 You're welcome!
Why did be brush gus teeth then eat after?😂
Johnny Gonzalez
It’s actually recommended to brush your teeth in the morning before you eat breakfast
wait aren't you ment to brush your teeth after you eat
But you have a lot of bacteria/dirt in your mouth during night when you sleep so you would brush your teeth in the morning
Stop don’t pour the cereal first no stop it’ll get soggy quicker
i know its spelt bouy but its pronounced 'boy' not booey XD
