Song 1939 song composed by Pokrass brothers with lyrics by Boris Laskin The song was first performed in theaters by actor Nikolai Kryuchkov in the film The Tractorists(Трактористы) (1939)
The song refers to the Japanese invasion of Siberia in 1938 , where they were defeated by Soviet forces at the Battle of Lake Khassan . This battle sees for the first time, apart from the Spanish Civil War , the use and victory of armored forces among the Soviets
