Want to say you really conjure Bigwig very well. Your vocals bring into insightful relief aspects of his nature that were, for me, more 2-dimensional on the page. Bigwig was my favorite when i read this as a kid. The woolly bulwark!-- rough-and-ready, reliable, and indispensable physical protector of Fiver's refugees. Readers fight alongside him. Hearing him through your work in this series has granted me insight into Bigwig's mind, in this part especially. He's like Banquo: an unabashed battler nevertheless humble enough to serve others, who maintains this balance largely through acceptance of his limitations-- in knowledge and otherwise-- coupled with a healthy, fearful respect towards what's unknown. Thanks again for making/sharing a canon-worthy narration! 🐰🎉
Thanks for this great comment! He is like Banquo, and lots of other strong characters in literature you're right - happy to be led by a leader they're fiercely loyal to. Bigwig is my favourite too. In fact, his type of character is often a favourite for me - it's an honourable, positive kind of masculinity that needs celebrating!
@MrBenAckland great job here mate. Been listening to it in the car with my 7 and 9 year olds. I'd forgotten just how good the story is and you've brought it to life beautifully. Looking forward to the rest
@stingraypoindexter Delighted to hear you've all been enjoying it. Such a good book, your kids are the perfect age. Next chapter this week, is a promise....
I agree on your voice dramatization. It gives variance to the narration, but you do it subtly and not "over the top" where it could distract or irritate. I hope you plan on continuing the story through completion.
thank you for this! I love how you read this. I read The Plague Dogs and was able to find Watership Down in my college's library!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it. It's a fantastic book.
