Why do programmers talk to rubber ducks?

In order to debug their code programmers sometimes try to explain it to a rubber duck. Explaining your code or another subject to someone else will force you to evaluate it from different perspectives, and so you can come up with a solution.

Guys, I was stuck on a bug raised by the team for the last 3 days , I was all down , depressed. I jus searched in youtube, debugging complex method. One of the rubber duck video came, i just viewed it and I picked an old dump toy and started talking out loud,
