Hi, great to see how to remove a stairlift. I would love to see how to put an acorn stairlift back on to its rail. I need to replace the top of rail sensor, since the stairlift isnt stopping at the top. Changing the sensor looks straightforward, but i would like to be sure i can put the chair back on the rail successfully.

Thanks for the video suggestion. We have added that to the list of new videos we want to make. In the meantime, when you put the unit back on the rail make sure you keep it aligned with the rail, both up/down and right/left. Once the rollers are on the rail it should slide right on.

Hello great video one question after removing the chair the unit just continuously beeps and will no longer move via the remote am i doing something wrong?

The beeping means the unit is not charging, which would be normal once removed from the rail. If it doesn't move via the remote you may have a safety sensor triggered. Check the display code on the front panel. We have the reference code sheet on our web site. www.mobilitywins.com

What if you don’t have a remote . Do need to keep chair on to run it up to the end and take it off with chair on ?

I would leave the chair on to drive the unit upward, then when the unit comes free from the rail, (the noise you hear at 2:17 of the video) remove the chair and then the motor unit separately. Picking up the chair and the motor unit while still attached is heavy and not advised.

I would not recommend that you remove the panel. There are plastic tabs on the inside of the panel that holds it to the chasse. These tabs are very fragile and break easily. However, if you must remove it, 1) Take the hood off the motor unit, 2) Use a long screwdriver to gently push outward on one tab while pulling the panel away. You may be able to find a video on removal somewhere else. We don't have one for the removal of the safety panel.

@@mobilitystairlifts4678Too late the tab broke . I have a new one is putting it on easier or do I still need to take the hood ? Thanks for responding

@@edwardwitkowski2251 Putting it on is easier but I would still take the hood off. It will allow you to see the alignment better.

I'm cleaning up an older Acorn 120 and a couple of the nylon rollers in the bottom of the chair unit seem a little stiff like they need lubricated. They don't seem worn out or sloppy, just roll a little stiff. They are not rolling freely. I'm considering putting the chair on its side then putting a drop of oil so it can get down around the shaft. I'm just not sure what kind of lubricant to use. I don't want to put something that will "eat" the nylon roller. Anyone have any ideas on what type of lubricant to use?

We have had good luck with WD-40 for this application. Using the spray straw application works well and doesn't seem to cause any long-term damage.
