Training for the surf city marathon in February after swearing I was never a runner ! You’re body is so capable of anything you set your mind to!! You got this!!
I have my first full marathon next Saturday (42.2km!) and this has just motivated me so much! Was feeling a bit in a slump, but your positivity about facing hard things has helped so much! 🫶🏻 lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I have my first half marathon Spartan race this October in Dallas! I’m excited and it’s true about feeling more accomplished with long distance running than doing weights or HIIT! I feel it all the time when I finish my practice runs of 5 or 6 miles. I too never was a running type but that feeling of finishing your set miles is truly something else.
I run my first half marathon next Saturday and can not wait!! I can confirm that the running high is realllll!! I as well never thought of myself as a "runner", as I used to play collegiate softball, but it has given me that competitive feeling again during post grad which I have CRAVED!! proud of you gal - let's keep doing hard things and push towards growth!!
Great job Kylie!!! Im so proud, you've motivated me so much through out the years (all the way back to baylor)! I can' wait to see what life has in store for you!! also pls pls pls share your hair care routine!!
I just did the Seattle half-marathon yesterday!! My first race ever and i finished just over 2 hours too! Freaking course was all hills lol Went in with no goal other then to not walk haha it was so fun!
YOU GO KYLIE!!!!!! Congrats!!! 🎉 🍝 I’ve loved following along and have definitely been motivated to do hard things. Thank you for taking us along 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Im not sure if you have ever listened to MindPump podcast, but the one episode I recently listened to had me thinking about your marathon training while still wanting to incorporate lifting. They had a marathon runner on who was asking about how to balance/drop weight during training and they suggested taking 1 full body workout, and breaking it up into multiple days throughout the week, just to support joint health. They gave an example of even just one day doing 3 sets of a compound lift, then the next day a different body part compound for 3 sets, etc. This way youre not burning yourself out but still keeping joint health in check!😁
Kylie I feel like we’ve been training together! I ran my first half marathon today! I did not train very well and got the worst sleep I’ve gotten in a while the past two days, but the Lord is so amazing! I wrestled a lot with deciding to do this half because I knew I wasn’t on track with my training and I felt like a failure. My friend pushed me to follow through with my commitment to myself. It was so hard, but when I shifted my focus from my own effort and accomplishments to worshiping the Lord through the pain and thanking Him, everything changed!! It was not easy today, and surprisingly the hardest thing for me was the pain in my legs and feet. But we chose to worship through our pain and let me tell you, it’s AMAZING that the pain decreased dramatically when I just thanked the Lord. I would not have been able to do this without God. All glory to the Most High!!! Woohoo!!!! I’m so proud of you Kylie. You inspired me to keep going in my training when I felt unable. Thank you!
This video was so motivating to watch I ran 2 half marathons this year and let me tell you the feeling of accomplishment is so underrated. I’m planning on pushing myself to run my first marathon next year! 😃
Do it! best feeling of achievement ever. I don't run but i did a marathon this year and i am so proud of myself. supposing i didnt train, i completed it.
After your first video about this race i decided to sign up for one too. I have always said i am not a runner and never thought I would even try running. I am currently training for a 10k and my race day is December 11th, you’re such an inspiration Kylie❤️❤️
Hey! I just did my first half-marathon yesterday. I did 3-4 runs a week, one weight/core day, and 2 active rest days. For the runs I would do 1-2 easy runs (like 3-4ish miles), a speed work run (pushed my pace, sprints, focused on speed rather than distance), and then of course the long run. I did up to 12 miles two weeks before my race. I would focus your training more around time rather than actual distance though. If you can build your base to jog a solid hour comfortably on the regular, I think youll do just fine. A week or 2 before the half, you should plan a 2 hour run
Please do another marathon series!! I’m training for my first half that will take place in the Woodlands on March 4th. I also hate running but I’m dedicated to push myself to achieve this and know that I am capable. Being comfortable with the uncomfortable. So proud of you for achieving this!!!🎉
Watched this while on my treadmill run of the day… why was that the easiest treadmill run of my life?? Felt like I running with ya! Maybe more running vlogs!? Congrats on being first in your age group too! ❤
Greetings from Dorset UK. Well done. It shouldn't be called *A half* that makes it sound *second best* in some way! It should have a name of its own to show what a fantastic achievement it is! So a marathon is beckoning! You'll get lots of advice + there's loads on the Internet (I recommend *The Running Channel* on UA-cam - they have lots about preparing for a first 26miler, training for it, race day *stuff*) . I don't give advice but I do have some lessons/routines/mistakes(!) I have learned from my 100+ Marathons. A marathon is more than 2 half marathons (you'll find that out) in terms of physical and, in particular, mental *preparation*... + pacing - running your own race. + I try to treat first 13miles of a marathon as *getting to the start* with the *main event* being the second half. It is a soul destroying experience to be *running thru treacle* with 10 miles still to go.. Whilst overtaking overtaking others on the second half is a real psychological high! Anyway Happy running😁
Y’all should do the BCS half marathon in College Station next year!! It’s usually in early December and you get to run through the a&m campus! My parents do it almost every year and love it!
just signed up for a half marathon. I hate running, I don't run but i did a marathon this year with no training (who knows how i did it) so i am confident i can complete a half. super excited.
The “Haribo, sponsor me” made me lol 😂 but I got emotional for you when you were finishing! I’m thinking about doing my first half marathon next year and I’ve never been a long distance runner either. You’re inspiring me to go for it 😍
Join Dallas Running Club (DRC) if you’re thinking of doing a marathon! They have fantastic marathon training and a super supportive group. Tons of pace groups to choose from. Training for spring marathons start in January :)
I would really appreciate some advice - I started running a year ago for 3 months but then i stopped. I started again 2 months ago and i can run 10k in 1 hour and 15k in 1h 40mins. Im currently 15 years old and im trying to reach a half marathon. Any tips or training plans? Tysm :))
I wouldn't push it to fast to a marathon, until your body gets comfortable in the half marathon. In my opinion it's important to do 2-3 halfs, before putting a marathon goal. Good luck 🤞💜
I’m doing my first half marathon in January and I am sure it’s going to be cold so you regret taking the crewneck? I’m not sure if I should take a sweater just Incase I get hot 🥵
great job! my hub and I just trained together for his first half and he crushed it! tips on my channel for anyone interested! PS how did you film during the run? I didn't have one extra morsel of energy - i can't imagine mile 11.6 like you at your pace wowza. I say go for the full for your next one, and do it with us (March 19, Los Angeles!)
Accidentally ran my first 1/2 marathon yesterday on a treadmill. 126 minutes Day one six miles, day two nine miles, day three 13.1, day four (today) only three miles. I’m sore.
Runners high is a genuine thing!! It’s so so good, such a fun easy addition to strength and weight training.
Tell me why I teared up when you said “You can do hard things.” Great job Kylie! You killed it. ♥️♥️♥️
