Those Yamahas sound so good. I can hear the difference between any other bike at the track. Great video, the behind the scenes stuff is awesome.

There is a three part series of the tear down and discussion of the rebuild but logistics didn't allow us to film the assembly. :( We'll revise the title accordingly.

Good evening very nice series of videos for the R1. What size millimeter pistons did Mike use to rebuild the motor and are you using stock cams or custom?
We used stock pistons and stock cams.
the amount of money it takes to go 5% faster is crazy. definitely not for the average track rider.
If this is an OEM engine rebuild, just spend the $8-$9k for a brand new motor. Unless you do the work yourself, then you save.
