Bored of people saying this was lip synced and the dance routine is cheesy. It's a live vocal, with a background track playing for background vocals (because bands rarely use actual background vocals). It's not a cheesy dance routine either. If Beyonce did this, people would be raving about how good it is. What made/makes Steps cool is that they aren't cool, and that makes them cool. They don't and have never tried to fit in or follow trends. This song and album is deliberately off-trend and counter-pop because that's who they are and that's why the album is number one on iTunes because people appreciate that this is Steps, 20 years on from their split, adapted to the modern market without losing what made them so successful originally. Good, old fashioned, uplifting dance-pop music and lyrics that isn't sexualised or politicised.
yeh you can tell its not just them lip syncing to the final studio music because while they still sound great the studio finshed version is polished like all songs

I'm sorry but Claire is the lead vocalist. I think that letting Faye open is due to the drama that went down before but her voice is just the strongest. The others make nice alternate singers.
I don't know why this is being discussed 20 years in... Claire has the best vocals but they're a GROUP. She didn't have a successful solo career, she's in a successful group. When you're in the group, everybody should sing, not just the one with the best vocals.

That along with the overestimating of hers and H's star potential in my opinion is what split them up back then...Claire pretty much used her voice to blow the others out of contention leaving her the front runner...not a particularly good bandmate.
Joe Palmer Sorry but but in here but don't you think their record label was partly to blame as well pushing Claire to the front giving her lead vocals all the time? I agree Claire should have been a good band mate and stuck up for the others but their record label should take responsibility for most of what went on for pushing Claire to the front and the others to the back all the time. They all have nice voice (ok not as powerful as Claire's but still nice) and they are supposed to be a group so they should ALL be singing not just Claire or H. She is clearly not a solo artist and she failed miserably without the others and I am kinda glad she did as maybe now she realises how much she actually does need them. I also think Lee needs more singing time as he has actually a decent voice which they don't utilise much. They need to make use of the guys more any way to be honest otherwise their songs are going to all sound the same.
