Another excellent video - the sound reproduces very well and the playing is marvellous. Coincidentally, there is an article in the BCS Journal by Francis Knights on the clavichords found in the probate inventories of Tudor Fellows of the Cambridge University Colleges. 7 found within a period of 15 years (1545-1559). You say that clavichord is new - Who made it? Thanks - you are a gifted player (and good cuffs!).
Excellent playing, and an excellent instrument-- one so often hears the wooden parts knocking about from heavy handed players but this is so subtle and elegant. Truly lovely. Thank you so much for sharing it. Who is the maker of the instrument? Is it modeled after any particular original?
this instrument brings this music to life...more than the harpsichord in my opinion
thank you, Ernst, one of my favorite virginal pieces. I think it was me who had asked you to repost this marvelous ground. Thanks again.
Very nice playing. William Byrd really loved those mordants didn't he?
Thank you; this clavichord is tuned in WerckmeisterIII.
thanks for your nice comment. This is an instrument by Dick Verwolf
Absolutely superb. Must be the best sound got from a clavichord. Thank you.
Many thanks for your interesting comments!Clavichord is by Dick Verwolf (Leiden)
Lovely! Many thanks for recording and posting it for us to enjoy.
Great video - a very satisfying end to a less satisfying day at work!
Yes sure Romulo, that was quite some time ago I think. I uploaded some excerpts as one of my first videos...
Muchas gracias!
Thanks, and there are a lot of those ornaments I would say....
You should play Sweelinck on that instrument.
Authentic Sound channel has some nice Sweelinck recordings
Superb.
Thank you!
Thanks Wanda, but you are still my favourite harpsichordist!
Like a window to the past
FANTASTIQUE..
@ernststolz Dank Uw wel!

Do you play the Viola da Braccio as well?
Aceste acorduri mă duc cu gândul în inistoria îndepartata a Europei

Who is the maker of the instrument? Is it modeled after any particular original?
I think the wood parts knocking is more a consequence of the instrument than the player
I know this answer is twelve years late but the maker, I believe, is Dick Verwolf.
Is this a=440?
+Ernst Stolz that doesn't answer my question, mate! What's the temperament of this instrument? And pitch?
who make the clav?
who is the made of this beatiful instrument?
Dick Verwolf I think
Looooove it!
you're welcome. (and I like the boy part)
William Byrd rocks.
Now play Crocodile Rock
