Work on your form: Legs, back, arms (drive), arms, back, legs (recovery). Avoid hitting your knees with the handle and both drive and recovery. Rowing will be 1000x more comfortable when you use good technique. With you strength and fitness you will find your stroke rate and stroke power improve. There are tons of great videos online, with better form you would have been in the middle of the pack.
Thanks @Lincoln. I'm such a newbie, will watch those videos and get better form!
As a rower I appreciated that
I knew someone was going to comment on her rowing form. 🤦♂️
@@db4a You say that like its a bad thing?
@@blackblaze1996 She is a feature reporter presenting a report on a new rowing machine. She didn’t ask for or sought comments on her rowing form. But this is the Internet and it was only a matter of time before some people offered her unsolicited advice on her rowing form. But her video was not about that. My mom said that if I don’t have anything good to say about something then it is probably best not to say anything at all. But on the Internet random people just can’t hold back from offering unnecessary remarks.
I am not a rower, i have been rowing for a month or so, but even to me that form was terrible. It looks like it hurts...
Work on your form
I will NEVER leave my concept 2!!!
What is the correct rowing technique?
Is there any function without the monthly subscription??
I think this is just a Nohrd Water rower with an attached computer & monitor. The normal water rower doesn’t even need a power outlet, so I’m pretty sure you could use this Ergatta without the computer, too.
She is so cute. And a $2000 rowing machine in a $5000/month apartment? Nice. I only have crappy magnetic resistance one.
Sie zeigt das Gerät gut aber die Haltung und Umsetzung ist sooo falsch
Never seen someone befördert rowing that wrong 🙈
Am i the only one who mistook it for a manual cloth washing machine underneath?
Hahaha I was gonna post a comment about it too
Same
Looks like you are washing your clothes in the front of that machine :)
You have beautiful blue eyes!
horrible posture demonstrated here on the rowing machine (Catch, drive, recovery😱)
Thanks for testing this out! Some pointers on your form. I was a varsity rower. When you push off you want only your legs to move first. Your arms should stay extended and parallel and come into your chest as you fully extend your legs. Once your legs are extended and arms are at your chest THEN slightly lean back. So it goes Legs, Arms, Lean. On the way back, do the opposite. Let your arms reel forward first and at the end of that motion your legs should come in and then you will lean your chest to knees. Keep your back and shoulders straight and avoid that dip when you're coming in from the extension. It feels really awkward when you're used to having "your own" form, but this will benefit you in the long term and improve your metrics!
sorry to be form police but that hurts the eyes
Same. Omg. It looks painful. Flopping all over the place like that.
Bridget!!😍😍😍 My crush since 2014
everytime i see this machine it reminds me of house of cards
Same here and I'm still going to get one when I find the space 🤣
@@sonydee33 It takes the size of a barstool when stored vertically.
But is not the same Maschine ....
@@MsScarface1978 it is the same machine, ergatta just added a tablet and sensors to it to gamify the experience.
@@Sovnarkom was a water rower in the show
I wish they'd made this for Concept 2 rowers instead of water rowers. Better rowing experience and you may actually get competition from legitimately competitive athletes, since that is the standard equipment to use in the rowing community (and CrossFit, and most gyms)
100% agree! But Sadly concept 2 has been too slow, lazy, and self-indulged to upgrade their tech. Looks like they are going to be like another Nokia.
Everything nowadays is a subscription service. No, thanks.
I think you can opt-out of the subscription.
Just get a Waterrower then. Same hardware as this.
👚 🩳 👕 👔 👖 I wish they included a large hatch so I could toss in my laundry while I work out. 😂
Yeah, I have Ergatta and love it, but your form is painful to watch. You shouldn't be bending your knees until your torso and arms are forward.
must cost an arm and a leg
Arms before knees!
Thanks. It would be interesting to see this compared to the Hydrow rower, which seems to have a similar price point.
I own a Water Rower - it is GREAT! I have smart speakers in my home gym and have playlists on SPOTIFY I listen to while sweating bullets.
"No,no,no - I have to beat somebody here, come on!" - 1:48
Looks to me that the only one you have to beat, is yourself....... If I was you, just rent a rower and start doing beginner exercises and work on your form and stamina. See if you like it to row everyday and when you are confident enough, buy a SmartRow Kit. No monthly cost, more information on your rowing technique and also the ability to row races against others.
2,000$ 😂😂😂😂
Is it me or is she rowing wrong?
Calling racing with or against other rowers a "game" is misleading. I thought I would see something interesting and different, but more of the same, with yet another subscription cost to boot. I think I'll go with a WaterRower without all the bells and whistles.
2:04 Don't worry, other people probably weren't talking during the race, I guess they were just focusing on proper breathing and performance 🙂
Lol! I thought it was a rowing/washing machine hybrid at first.
Yeah cause you saw that clear plastic thing
Someone’s back is going to hurt
Don’t take the form comments in a bad way, but take them to heart ❤️ Everything from hand placement to the four sections of the row that form the out/in stroke, to breathing, will make you faster and more efficient. Check out the Concept2 site for videos, or Dark Horse Rowing… I’ve learned a ton from Shane there. You’ll be passing some of those dots there on the screen in no time!
Hit some squats bridge
Oh dear - her form is terrible ! Arms over knees before you bend the knees on recovery to the catch !
Every time I use a rowing machine I get this really sharp pain in my knee for a few days. What's up with this - bad form?
I like it, a lot. These networked exercised machines will definitely kill the boredom and increase the likelihood of maintaining a regular exercise regiment. I just hope they become affordable. Not too crazy about the monthly server fee. I think that should be included with the price of the equipment.
Youre so beautiful
Wow her eyes 👀
Can I get this screen attached to my concept 2 lol
Let's get sweaty with Bridget.
we need a diy for this, the price is stupid!
No adjustable resistance? Same workout every day/row faster. PAY for the subscription? Buy a First Degree rower like I did, do yourself a favor.
Believe you just add more water for greater resistance.
Why are people commenting on her form? This was the first and last time she will be going near an erg machine. Lol
because other people will see her video and are possibly copying her. So comments which criticise her technique are hopefully helping others not making the same mistakes and not learning it the wrong way (and possibly injuring themselves on the way)
The Hydrow looks a little more insteresting...
Thank you for all the info
so the rower is an ergatta rower or waterrower I thought they were two different brands? can you help clear that up, thanks
@Teri Pastorino ... I believe WaterRower makes the Ergatta.
🏋🏽♀️🔥
😂😂😂
Leginses mmmm...
I wish it had an option to wash clothes in it. It would conserve a lot of energy.
It just reminds me of Kevin Spacey, and how good he was in House of Cards!
Great!!!
Just picked up a hydrow connected rower and love it so far. I would love to see a comparison between these two great machines. They also have a 30 day full money back guarantee which Ergatta does not. If the concept 2 had connected software options like these do it would take them to another level. Thanks for this review. I haven't seen anything else anywhere yet.
I'd love to be able to get a monitor and connection for my concept 2. My concept 2 seems so primitive right now. I have to save my workouts to a card, which eventually does get filled up. It's primitive compared to newer technology. Even the newer concept 2s are primitive lol
@@isaachaze1 if concept 2 released a connected machine they would kill everything else on the market. I must say though the hydrow is like the peleton of rowers and their support is incredible!
Concept2 with PM5 can connect to rowing apps on your cell phone or tablet via Bluetooth. The machine has all the same capability built into it to connect with LiveRow, Strava and any other rowing app
@@kokoyhawaii thanks. i'll give them a call and/or check it on on the web site. i've been using the statiionary bike lately and not rowing, but i'd like to get back into it
Can you throw some clothes on that doing thing and do some laundry as well. I honestly thought it was aa washing machine.
Someone saw House of Cards...
ring fit is better
Do they stole the waterrower design. Wow.
@Ann Blakney ...I think WaterRower makes the Ergatta.
@@strawberryyogurt0 a partnership
You've got to get your timing when pulling the rope, you must bend your body to get extra power,
👍 hi
As someone who owns a Concept 2 rower that's been sitting in the basement unused for most of the last 10 years, take it from me: a rower will be clutter 3 months from now. I'm content achieving cardiovascular health through diet, not exercise.
Dieting isn't a replacement for exercise...🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
