I remember seeing that Columbia thing after you first posted it way back when, and seeing the brief clip again when you got the hook, I'm still amazed at how thin skinned those gals were. Paper mache. Imagine the heart palpitations you would have given them if you truly said anything controversial or offensive? Just some great observational humor mixed with social commentary about the crazy world we live in.

There are some people that think being inclusive means never bringing up anything that could be uncomfortable to groups outside of their own. The reality is there are a lot of uncomfortable subjects that need to be discussed in our society and if we avoid talking about uncomfortable topics we leave those issues unaddressed. If you're the type of person living in an elite bubble where you even have the option to not interface with uncomfortable realities and you shut down any conversation that starts to get uncomfortable you condemn people who are living an uncomfortable reality to deal with it on their own. I think when it comes to societal issues the ones who are most affected by societies problems shouldn't be left to deal with it on their own.
It's not like you were saying it's bad to be black or gay you were just bringing up the fact that it's bad the way society often treats people who are back and or gay. Any space that discludes this reality from being discussed is not creating greater equality and inclusiveness in our society. They are just carving out their own elite bubble of comfort. These elite bubbles like to think of themselves as being inclusive but they're not. There's an extremely narrow range of how someone can talk act and dress while being accepted in these elite circles. Just because some minorities are able and willing to speak dress and act in this vary particular way that is rooted in classist eurocentrism and be accepted does not mean that it's a space that is furthering inclusion and equality!

I lived at Columbia for a summer when I interned on the Maury Povich show you don’t know how many weird girls I would meet who thought I should date them just because I went to Indiana University (hence I am lower by default lol).
