She very well could be the offspring of the other Vixen, which would make her "Vixen Jr". Technically, since Winterbolt was turned into a tree, he's still alive. He just can't move or talk, which is a fate worse than death. Damn, Rankin/Bass! There isn't anything about 'T'was The Night Before Christmas', 'The First Christmas', 'Pinocchio's Christmas', and 'The Leprechauns' Christmas Gold' that makes it so that they can't be set in the shared universe, so it can be assumed that they are. As far as I'm concerned, 'Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer And The Island of Misfit Toys' is also set in that shared universe. It was a big part of my childhood and I think that it's underrated.
Yeah. The animation isn’t very good, but I’d accept it as canon just for them actually continuing the stories of Hermey, Yukon Cornelius, Clarice, et al, and introducing The Toy Taker to the world.
@whichcache2517 Yeah, it's great that those characters were finally put to use again. Fun fact: The Toytaker was voiced by Rick Moranis of 'Ghostbusters', 'Little Shop of Horrors'[1986], and 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids!' fame.
27:31 In “The Legend of Frosty the Snowman”, it is revealed that Professor Hinkle is the father of Mayor Tinkerton and the grandfather of Tommy Tinkerton. So even though it is made by different companies, I believe it would still fall in the timeline. Great video btw
Also Frosty Returns (Not Made By Rankin Bass) shows us that not only Frosty has gotten even more smarter than before after 23 years of being alive thanks to Frosty’s Winter Wonderland and Rudolph And Frosty’s Christmas In July but because of the events that happened after Frosty’s Winter Wonderland, he can still be alive without wearing his hat. I believe Winterbolt and the Winter Warlock are connected. It is my headcanon that in ancient times, when Winterbolt ruled the North, he also recruited a few desciples to help carry out his will. One of those was the individual who would later be known as the Winter Warlock. After Winterbolt's first defeat by Lady Borial, all of these desciples died off except for the Winter Warlock, who retreated to the Mountain of the Whispering Winds. The reason he later begins to lose his magic is because, once he is redeemed and broken from Winterbolt's hold, he can no longer draw upon the connection that granted him power. A warlock is often described as someone who obtains magic through a pact with a higher being, usually a demon. Winter Warlock probably made some sort of pack with Winterbolt that, in exchange for powers, he would carry out his evil will. When he turned good, it nulled the packed and his powers began to fade.

Frosty's Winter Wonderland was barely a sequel either, cuz none of the other characters from the original special were featured beside Frosty himself and the traffic cop who swallows his whistle. What's also weird is that Frosty acts like the kids in the sequel are the same ones he promised to return to visit in the original even though none of them are Karen and her group of friends who built him. Last time I checked, 1,000,000 B.C. not only was long after the last dinosaurs died out, but also long before the first cave people were born. Which proves that "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" is fictitious.
Fun fact: the Va for Santa in frosty voices bugermeister and also is the guide in the haunted mansion (at least in the ride) and he uses the Santa voice impression for the ghost guide voiceover.
13:46: I think Rudolph is suppose to be laughing *with* him, not *at* him. I mean, yes, Rudolph is laughing at Happy New Year’s Ears, but he’s saying the ears made him special, because… you know what, why be so pessimistic when all you wanted is an explanation that would conflict the narrative even further? 27:00: What you neglected to mention is that, despite Rankin/Bass’ attempt to make people forget the best characters from their own Rudolph story (specifically, Hermie, Yukon Cornelius, the Bumble, Moonracer, and Clarice), “Rudolph 2: the Island of Misfit Toys” remembered that they existed; also, they brought in a few continuations on Hermie and Cornelius, Hermie gets to graduate from a school for Elves that became dentists (and owns his own Mobile Office), while Cornelius owns a Peppermint Mine (which is a reference to a scene missing from most syndicated airings, when Rudolph starts leading Santa’s Sleigh). By the end of “Rudolph 2: The Island of Misfit Toys”, Cornelius dug clean of his Peppermint Mine, but eventually got Silver and Gold; so he got to win in both endings. 27:26: To be perfectly honest, Bill Fagerbakke makes for a good Frosty voice substitute, echoing what Frosty sounded in the Rankin/Bass special. It’s too bad they didn’t make it a sequel continuing his friendship with Karen (despite bringing Professor Hickle into the Narrative as the father of Theodore Tinkerton… so Hickle’s full name is Hickle Tinkerton?)
I think years ago, some tv channel must have marathoned all of these stop motion movoes because I have seen most of these. I didn't even remember about the chrostmas donkey one until you started showing clips of it
Arthur Rankin ALSO wrote the story for and co-produced the 1967 Japanese kaiju film "King Kong Escapes." One of my childhood favorites. Co-stars the cute-as-a-button Linda Miller, and also Mia Hama who was featured in the Bond flick "You Only Live Twice" whom he "married" and who was killed off shortly thereafter.
So weird it had a cinematic universe before the Avengers did many years later 😂 But I’ve seen a few other movies from them and recently watched the frosty winter wonderland
Fun fact: there is very little degrees of separation between these specials and Godzilla. They helped with King Kong escapes. Yeah, also the stop motion with handled by studios in Japan. Like frosty and the sequel I think are animated by a studio that helped with one of the 70’s lupin the third movies. Everything’s connected

it’s funny how some of the movies are fairly light hearted like the og rudolph and santa clause is coming to town, yet others are just down right depressing. i remember watching jack frost as a kid and was really excited bc i thought it would be like those movies and then was horrified at the end lol
7:44 bro named half the song
Didn't Rudolph de-age too? He was an adult at the end of his first special, but in Shiny New Year he was the kid reindeer design again
11:48
@aam12-i7y I think they lost the older Rudolph model. Plus kid Rudolph is more marketable
Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is cheeks. Frosty Returns is the only Frosty sequel I acknowledge, even if it isn’t a Rankin Bass production.
Great video, friend 😂 As a kid in Nigeria during the 2000s, i used to watch many of these Rankin Bass movies and even back then i found them weird😅but i never knew they were interconnected like this! Really takes me back😊
Rankin/bass definitely is the best when it comes to TV stop motion specials
A Christmas themed review from president mung is the best Christmas present ever
Why does "North Wind" look Lord Barkis Bittern from "Corpses Bride"?? 😂🤣 Just look at him.
27:25 nah man Frosty's Return is goated
It's fine, should have just been called Frosty Saves Christmas considering he doesn't return to his original friends.
Mung really though he could drop a 30 minute christmas vid and thought I would notice
Last time I checked, 1,000,000 B.C. not only was long after the last dinosaurs died out, but also long before the first cave people were born. Which proves that "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" is fictitious.
Oh yea btw Merry Christmas mung
Yeah you have a Merry Christmas too Mung!!!
Fun fact: the Va for Santa in frosty voices bugermeister and also is the guide in the haunted mansion (at least in the ride) and he uses the Santa voice impression for the ghost guide voiceover.
And also the voices of John Lennon and George Harrison in The Beatles cartoon show.
Paul Frees..!
That fact that I remember watching most of these movies as a kid really surprises me
How dare UA-cam hide this from me for 13 minutes
I didn't even remember about the chrostmas donkey one until you started showing clips of it
Dude why is UA-cam recommending me this on New Year’s Eve!? This woulda been perfect to watch around Christmas time.
I spent so many years trying to figure out the cinematic universe! This is great.
I grew up watching Rudolph's Shiny New Year and Christmas in July, and I always forget that most people don't know about them
All I want for Christmas is the obscure lore of oddbods 😂
I would love an illumination studio version of this Rudolph
Not every Rankin Bass falls into this, there's the life and adventures of Santa clause
Please do the obscure lore of tinga tinga tales next 🙏
The life and times of Santa Claus is my favorite besides the little drummer boy
25:31 "Jack Frost continues to blow Frosty and his family"..!!!!! Way to add a little humor!!!😭😭😭😭🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣
Man Twas the Night Before Christmas where we learn Santa is all about collective punishment
You are absolutely right, most people watch the year without a Santa Claus just for the brothers, myself included!
Made 30 years before but a beloved childhood tradition i love to watch every year
I could've sworn there was a movie that followed Rudolph's son who wanted to be an Olympic skiers.
So weird it had a cinematic universe before the Avengers did many years later 😂
But I’ve seen a few other movies from them and recently watched the frosty winter wonderland
As a Rankin Bass aficionado, I think this was quite well done .
Oh my gosh, I love these movies 😊 The vulture named EON legitimately scared me as a kid 😅 His screech and size was very scary to kid me
I had no idea the same company made all of these classics like The Last Unicorn, Frosty the Snowman, The Hobbit, Rudolph, etc!
27:06 I grew up with that movie on VHS. Even back then me and my dad were like what the hell is this? But I still watched it every year as a kid
PLESAE GRIZZLY AND THE LEMMINGS IVE COMMENTED THIS ON EVERY ONE OF YOUR "The obsure lore of" VIDEOSSSSSSSS
Well i also wish you a Merry Christmas Mr. Mung 🎄❄️🌨️
imagine you are a snow child and you walk in on your snow dads magic sewer slide
