Nike finally got these right with the red heel pull tab and not the black. They weren't Bugs Bunny inspired. Art and colors were inspired by Hip Hop urban wear and pop art culture back then.
Huge fan of the 8. These were my first ones back in 1993. For those wondering: these are modelled after the "China" version from 1993. Those had the slightly lighter difference in the underlaying blacks as well. The 7's had that too. Some factories back then used different materials with slightly different shades, so some factories had almost full black versions while of the play-off 7. While others factories had a clearly visible contrast...

This is very common since the resources at factories that are hundreds (or in some cases thousands) of miles apart, can never be exactly the same. Ever.
Def a fan of AJ8s myself , wouldn't say in my top top OG Jordan models but very appreciated and 8s will always have a special place for me as their original release in '93 being my first ever pair of Js (8 Aquas specifically). My shock drop pair from SNKRS hopefully coming in today. I love that 8s have such a retro / 90s feel with the different details (like patch on the tongue) , pops of color and interesting patterns in various areas and they are also quite comfortable imo as well. With 8s as with most Js i'm mostly about the OG colorways. Only drawbacks i'd say def more an autumn / winter sneaker as they are quite warm. Also , the materials / construction not the most durable / long lasting in my experience , so throw them on feet from the jump ; i've had 8s cracking in certain areas and fall apart earlier than expected , so just wear and enjoy them asap.

Foamer you live in the real world but your associate has no true appreciation of the sneaker game and you should “ release “ the cat and partner up with someone who doesn’t snort sneaker cleaner. I remember when the day tripper scored 10/10 for a pair of crocs 😮 . Proof that he is out of place working as a sneaker reviewer .. I think he gave the incredible J1 Travis Scott Fragment 4 or 5 out of 10 !!! .. if this was back in the pirate days he would be strapped to the yardarm and flogged . At least 50 lashes .. rant over 😕

This is crazy. This shoe actually gave me that same itchy sensation Jordan was talking about. I believe it is because the shoe is to be worn in the winter season. They are the most comfortable jordans ever. But best to wear them in the cool weather, because in the summer time they make your feet sweat and thats what causes the athlete feet Jordan was referring to. Still a 🔥 shoe, but best to be worn in the winter because the suede quality is remarkable.

Time to double up cause this my favorite colorway of the OG 8's. Aquas and Bugs Bunny's are true classics, but the playoffs however are just a bit better to me because of the colors and how much they pop. The red pull tab, just like the OG's makes this release so much better then the last, which I believe was 2013? The contrast of the red from the black just speaks volumes, and even if I have to pay resale for this release, I'm willing to do so.

I had a 2013 pair that I ended up trading last year for a pair of 2016 Flu Games. Felt bad because the playoff 8s were my first ever jordan, back in the early 90's, and they are super nostalgic, but I needed the Flu Games in the collection. Few months later, they announced these for 2023, and I've been fiending since. Thanks for the EA Nike, super stoked!
