I could've used either one of these last season, we had a big pine that fell and definitely would've put these bad boys to use. thanks for the blog. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family.
Perfect timing! Thank you for this video - we were looking at getting the boys Silky saws for Christmas.
Great saw! This blows the doors off of the Bacho Laplander! Plus it strikes a ferro rid, time to upgrade! Thanks for bringing this saw to my attention!
Wow that little guy is pretty impressive. Great video.
Very nice, I didn't even know about the saw will have to pick one up thanks for sharing bro
Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a new saw around this size and you helped make my decision. I used your link so hopefully you get a bit of something out of it.
Congrats on 100,000 Subs! You did it!
bought a pocket boy today! if I'd have seen this first I'd likely have chosen differently.. but it's on my wish list now! thanks for the great reviews!
Thanks for the review, didn't know about that model! Cheers, Marc
Great looking saw I got the accel 150 and I like it really well, silky is a great saw!
looks like a pretty effective little saw
good job, great saw, greetings from Poland
awesome info bro. just got the laplander so the wife would smack me if I turned around and ordered another saw. might have to get it for my brother so we can test them both out together
I have the small pocket silky saw and I love it. Might be trading up my Laplander for this on , and put it n another bag , great review Ben as always .
One for my list! Thanks!
Never seen this before. Thanks for he review.
I didn't realize that Silky made left-handed saws. Good to know.
Great gift for xmas!
I use my silky saw all the time, works great
I got the Tsurugi with large teeth. 13 inch curved blade with a case that's has a belt loop and straps to the leg as well
grate video arnt you loving the snow that we got here in Michigan i hope we keep getting more so i can get out and go hiking in it do you have any winter hikes planed
Thanks for the review Christmas its gonna be fun
Have you reviewed any Corona saws like you can pick up at lowes? I think they are excellent. Just my opinion. This is definitely something I'm going to research more. Have a bahco, but never use since getting the Corona.
Like the review, I have ordered the 180 to use with my Firebox stove. The trouble i have with these reviews, its all American pricepoints. In Canada it doubles.
Good review. I have two other Silky saws but I didn't even know this one existed. You know what that means don't you? Yup - gotta have one.
I got the pocket medium cause I didn't like so many plastic parts may need to upgrade
amazing, how did you do fire?? need to watch it again. and nice tricks. subscribed.
Do you feel the slack in the blades when the saw is open, it can be seen especially
at the tip of the blade when it moves up and down?
Now thats a saw I would buy good video .
Love ur vid, good work!!
Thanks Ben... mixed opinions on my part, but thanks for showcasing this.
Have you tried the Super Acel by Silky? (A little bigger.) If so , any thoughts?
hi please info ,your paracord WIDE in mm ? THANKS
sorry for the double post forgot to ask this as well. Since I'm a kayaker and there's many times a tree fallen across the creek and I need to saw it for pass thru.. how do any of these tyes of saws work on soaked thru wood?.. have you tried?
Appreciate all that you do. Thanks again!!! and Merry Christmas
The large tooth Silky (180) should be perfect for wet/green wood. Dry wood supposedly dulls it.
i got mine today at 9. it was 35. prob still best saw it was gomboy ir this. the handle is nice i dig dual poditions on. decided to get 180 the blade is alot thinner than i thought it would be
.i guess that's why it cuts fast
I have a 420mm Sugoi for Armageddon and just ordered one of those for my bicycle packs.
Thanks Ben. Can you confirm the F180 is a pull saw like the other Silkys?
what kind of knife was that? i am looking for a good knife to go solo backpacking with in southern colorado
Silky Gomboy de best !
I need a small UL folding saw
I just purchased one last week and haven't taken it out for a swing yet. Have you experienced the tips breaking off like I've seen in other videos? I'm only going to use it sparingly, so I'm not especially worried about that type of abuse happening.
Awesome to hear. I thought the technique in some other videos put too much pressure on the push. There were many complaints in the comments that the gear reviewers had terrible technique for the Silky saws.
hi cool bid i k ow yelliw is fine tooth but silky is saying its fir hardwood .you think the red habdle is going to cut through hardwood faster,?. .
don't have an option on the smaller saws but this cuts really good soft or hard.
Looks and sounds like it cuts on both the push and pull stroke...does it? Thanks for sharing it.
Bill K. Pretty sure just ok the pull although it will spit out wood on the push.
Thanks, I think I'll check this out since I don't have a Laplander, this would be a good choice.
your so cool man
What knife were you using
Hey Ben Hope you well ?!! Is the blade on the silky as sturdy as the Laplander ? Cheers
My friend.
Living Survival
That's on my xmas list then lol !! Cheers Ben love the review
It is a bit small tho, yes?
Oh, I enjoyed it alright. Just not quite sure what you mean by a personal sized saw, as you called it in the beginning? Are there Silky saws that are not?
Where is the best place to buy they are currently thirty five dollars on Amazon. I guess they went up like everything else.
way cool.!
I am looking for a saw like this, how does it compare to the sog folding saw ?
J John in my opinion the only good thing coming out of dog is their multi tools...... not that I have any weight behind my opinion I'm just some guy but when I was working at a camping and surplus store one of our most returned company's was sog
👍👍👍👍
you didn't mention it nor did I see it but is there some kind of sheath??? Great video and thanks for a "real demo" now I have to get the stove as well.. LOL
Maybe Santa
Paul Dunham no sheath. The large tooth version (this one) is better for green/wet wood.
Do any embers fall out the bottom of those wood stoves?
T Peach the firebox nano here has holes so the ash can fall out. You can get a carbon felt pad for under it or in this case I wasn't worried about the ash.
guess i still use .my 30 inch bowsaw with Bahco hardwood blade for anything above 4 inch.lol
the laplander has long enjoyed an undeserved reputation as the best saw in this category simply because pseudo experts claimed it was. Personally, after having used and inspected the design of them, I wouldnt own one for free.

thanks for highlighting this saw!
f180 currently running $28, but ultra accel 240 is down to $38, so i gotta go big ;)
Living Survival is there a larger version of this saw and if so what is the name
Have you ever thought about adding gun reviews to your video material?
another good saw I think I'll put this in the wife's bag.
first view and like
❄️❄️❄️❄️🎯👀👈👍👍
The Corona beats this one , i have the Bahco and Silky..
I was going to buy a Pocketboy, but I had doubts because of the weight. The F180 solved that issue for me. It cuts much better than my last saw, and with a lot less effort, too.
I've had it about 2 years now, and have had no problems with it at all.
Like any tool, treat it with respect and look after it.
I have also noticed that the price has gone up quite sharply since I bought mine. Must be catching on.
