It blows my mind that the locals were able to build many of these tracks as early as 1825, and they are still pretty well maintained. I'm in Melbourne, and I've never been to the Blue Mountains. I'm 65, so it's a bit late to be taking on some of those walks. I don't fancy the steps on the way back up. I'd maybe still tackle the canyon walk, but I'd be giving the Nation Pass a miss. Not sure I could handle the heights, lol.
Yes they did do a good job of building these tracks and they are well maintained now. There's also a few walks around Echo Point that are easier, like Katoomba Falls.
