In my opinion nen is one of the best power systems in shounen. It is actually quite consistent and complex to others unlike others like Chakra and Ki. Thanks for the breakdown

Wily Wimpod It’s definitely one of those anime’s where you need to keep your mind open. The show changes tones pretty often, and for the better. It’s one of my all time favorites.

I absolutely LOVE how they rolled out the idea of Nen in the show where the main characters were introduced to it slowly but were forced to fight people with MUCH MORE EXPERIENCE which invariably helped them to grow more quickly. However, the thing that's not talking about nearly as much in this regard is that Kurapika must've been a genius Nen user that rivaled Gon and Killua but unfortunately chose to nerf his full potential by going the route of revenge. Given how quickly he was able to learn and master Nen and how powerful his basic Nen attacks were it's clear to me that had he not set such harsh restrictions on his abilities and simply trained longer he would be one OP as fuck character to more than just the Spiders.
Lycon Xero he’s op because he set restrictions. It’s clearly stated the more strict your restriction the higher the power gain. That’s why he was on a mid lvl hunter lvl when he fault the troupe. He was stronger than gon and kil right off the bat. He wasn’t nerfed, they just caught up to him.
I disagree. Kurapika is not nerfed at all. He just got to a certain point faster. That is all.
I thought that I had a good grasp on nen, Swagkage comes and proves me wrong. I ain’t even mad.
Gon and Killuya's friendship is far better than Naruto and Sasuke's friendship.

One thing I'd like to point out is that Pitou's En wasnt s circular 2 km. She didn't know about using Ten to make it have a defense shape so it was spikey and unorthodox. Just putting it out there
Most Fans dont realize that Conjuration-Nen has a Replacement-Variant, as shown by Tsubone, Ikalgo and Greed Island. A Mechanic that i imagine to be quite popular as it's simple but potent: You give something up to get something new.
You could even go to Extremes and conjure yourself into something like a Blade that cant levitate but needs to be used by Someone as a mere Blade,
which would sacrifice everything about you temporarily (or even forever), even your Autonomy, just to gain give youre Comrade Power.
It’s basically Transifguration-Magic, the thing that Prof McGonagall teaches.
Funny/Epic enough: this is the type that doesnt just allows you to summon Creatures like Werewolves but BECOME ONE. Wow.
And of course all this can be used as Self-Cursing, which Conjuration is anyway best-suited for.
I'll be watching HxH to comment on any future videos with HxH related nonsense as I do with Naruto

Neon and Pitou clearly emit something, but that’s not using Emission in any sort or form; ist their Specialist-Power to do this one Thing.
It’s obvious without Neon included, but mega-obvious if you count her in:
Specialist-Powers always appear to ‚layer above’ some other Category:
Some ‚enhance’ something, like Kurapikachu, and others emit or conjure something.

Meidan Rrustemi I love HunterxHunter alot but I have found an anime that is an equal in goodness to HunterxHunter, it's Neon Genesis Evangelian I enjoyed it quite a bit but sadly it's only 26 episodes long. I recommend it to you my good friend. I would like to know if you recommend any other anime.

I really like how much nen looks and feels like a martial art with how much time and dedication is needed to master it for combat. And I like how well the series does in convincing the audience of that.

As someone who loves reading about and designing his own overly complicated magic systems I can't tell you how excited I am for next weeks video.
What I love about how Nen is portrayed is that it’s difficult, even for the geniuses. Gon and Killua learned way faster than most people, but they still had to train really hard to make use of Nen. It made their strength feel earned

3:16 Didn't Killua learn to use nen with Gon in the heavens arena arc? The technique he used against Netero in the hunter exam arc wasn't a nen ability it was just an assassin technique
Killua didn't know about nen prior to his training with Gon
+arash Tajik Killua wasn't a hunter in Heaven's Arena. He failed the exam and had to retake it during Greed Island
It's a plot hole. Killua didn't know nen yet his younger brother had mastered it.

Skylar Desmire I wasn't referring to what OP said. The plot hole is the fact that Killua is said to be a genius assassin in the family, and yet he knew nothing about nen. But Kalluto had already mastered it. It doesn't make sense.

Well kalluto who is much younger than killua knew nen and was able to join the phantom troupe, and you don't just do that unless your mastery of nen is really good (albeit this happens one year after the hunter exam arc; but this doesn't cover up how kalluto knows nen while killua who is viewed as the heir of the family doesn't).
Another detail is how he knew of zeno's dragon dive? He obviously didn't know nen when he went back home after the hunter exam and didn't meet him until he saw him with meruem. How can he know a nen attack if he doesn't know nen or see nen attacks?
Well togashi must have not had the nen idea fully developed while starting the series and just didn't bother addressing this, but this is just a minor detail I guess
Zoldycks didn't wanna teach Killua nen because he was already really talented and quite disobedient so teaching him would make him too powerful to control in the long run. Togashi might have pulled it out his ass but he wrote the story in a way that covers the "plot hole". This is because Silva explicitly told him to leave heavens arena when he reached the 200th floorr where Killua would have probably been crippled and also learn of the existence of nen

Love Hunter Hunter. I've always found its explanation of life force energy application to be the closest to reality out of any major Shonen. Thoughts, genetics, and external stimuli developing habit, which develops character and inner worlds. Inner worlds or perspectives developing external aesthetics or styles, which can in turn develop various attributes up to superhuman levels depending on both pre-existing factors and will.
But the most intriguing part of Nen are the applications of the various types.. Tagashi really is a genius. To make not one, but two top 25 level Shonen series.
