This is when I first joined Avon- in 1986! I had soooo much of the jewelry and I still have the cuff bracelet the model is wearing on the cover! ( I have 2 of them, lol).Devotee-I forgot about that fragrance! I think that was a special perfume that they put out for the 100 years of Avon. They gave us Reps special items like a mirror and a charm bracelet celebrating 100 years! Tranquil Moments- omg- I remember when one of the bubble baths spilled in my car and my car smelled Soooo goooooood for the longest tone! And that soap was actually your favorite shade of purple, Cole! Thank you for the walk down memory lane-I really enjoyed this one! ❤️
Love that you have kept those cuff bracelets - they are lovely and timeless. And very interesting to learn more about how much Avon leaned into the big 100 year anniversary!
I love to see the larger Avon Rep catalogs they were definitely more pleasing to the eye. The Avon representatives were the BEST customers, at the end of the day! 😊 This issue had a couple well known model/ actresses of the 80s pictured most notably cover model Joan Severance, Paulina Porizkova and the silver haired icon, Carmen Dell'Orefice.
I’m so happy that you did this catalog video & I love your reactions to the layouts, art, & products. 😍✨I first found your channel because of your Girl Talk videos - those were amazing as well! Looking forward to more 80’s glamour with you. 🎉
I still have that Sunsparklers glitter blush (yes, a highlighter!) and a loose eyeshadow from the line, plus an eye duo from one of the earlier pages. I was a rep in 1986 and had repped earlier for years too, and your observations are right on and hilariously expressed. Avon's catalogs were so lovely then.
Okay the way you’re talking about the scent being available in everything from perfume to potpourri - you’re kind of selling me the fantasy, have you ever worked in sales? Haha. Also, millennials have brought back decorative candles and dried flowers…I’m convinced potpourri will have its revival too!
6:20 “they aren’t packing lots of information” bro have you already forgotten the page on the left?😂 I usually use either my women’s perfume or my men’s one or both at the same time hah f it, who cares, but yah scented talc is old-school “Pearls&Lace” ah yes, Ulcers&Lace, wonderful… nicely done on the simulated pearls though, in a way I found pope soap on a rope and hope (a heart) soap on a rope 😂 They’re definitely prettie without the makeup but that’s just 80s makeup, and it’s not bad but the red lips and blue eyeshadow doesn’t work… The whole anthropomorphising plants thing though… This was nice though, typically 80s (thanks captain obvious) which isn’t my fav decade but it was still nice overall! Have a good weekend man! Ps thanks for the playlists! I’ll go check it out and like some! Great job but please set the vids in chronological order (order of posting), they’re backwards!
‘Room for vibes’ is such a good way to describe the design and layout of this catalogue - the photography and smart product staging concepts always blow me away. Feels kind of like a lost art almost? The fragrance pages were my favorite - I went cologne shopping with my bf last week and the modern designs of most perfume is so simple and homogenous now. We found a great Jo Malone scent though, Cypress & Grapevine. What kind of scents do you like, Cole?
It is absolutely a lost art! For fragrance: I was wearing Vacation which is a from really fun fragrance company I've followed for a long time on Instagram, but unfortunately it didn't really last very long on me. I've switched to 06 Cabin Retreat Mémoire which is lovely!
Oh, they are in chronological order - just arranged from newest to oldest! Otherwise people would always just see the same super old videos listed first.
I put First on hold because unfortunately those videos were not being watched nearly as much as other more recognizable magazine titles… maybe I’ll return to it in the future? It’s still a personal fave of mine!

It's fun that they experimented so much with catalog sizes!
You upload an 80s Avon catalog as I’m about to take a bath?! You’re an angel 👼🏻 ❤
The catalog even has it's own steamy sensuous bath time feature, so you really did luck out with the timing. 💧
0:51 I don’t even watch your videos for asmr but when you said deep and rich and then tapped the surface twice I felt so relaxed and floaty.
Also OKAY RINGS! Really adds to the mise-en-scène ❤️
Yes, I am doing rings now!
I love the cover lady!! She is serving all types of Alexis Carrington ❤❤ this episode was so much fun! Thank you Cole
Totally Alexis energy! Thanks for watching, Jayde :)
That is the 80s top model Joan Severance on the cover! Gorgeous!

Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you liked the Girl Talk videos as well, they were so fun to do!! 💕
Just so you know "leave room for vibes" is my new saying!! Lol love it
Ha! It's good all around multipurpose advice, isn't it?
Oh my goodness, I saw that bottle of Imari in my mom's bathroom yesterday!! Wait until I tell her, lol!
Long live Imari!

I've tested some vintage Avon makeup, and some of it holds up beautifully even for decades! Thanks for watching :)
I wish Avon would bring back soap-on-a-rope. Men loved them.
Soap-on-a-rope allowed men to enjoy a little fashion handbag fantasy in the privacy of their own shower 🤫

I'm all for a potpourri renaissance 💐

Yay, that’s the year I graduated high school! 😂
It’s a good year!!
Fun!

Lo me gusta es aures ya no asen asa de ven sacar de nuevo esa colonia
What happened to all those First for Women mags you said were coming last spring? Just wondering.
I put First on hold because unfortunately those videos were not being watched nearly as much as other more recognizable magazine titles… maybe I’ll return to it in the future? It’s still a personal fave of mine!
@ColeChickering That's what I wanted to know-- thanks! Still looking forward.
BTW, how many of them do you have?
I think I only have 1 on hand now that hasn't been featured on the channel yet. The cover lady is elderly Mary Tyler Moore from 1994!@@bmasters1981
@@ColeChickering Looking forward!
