Honestly to me, the people who constantly hate on new blink, are the ones who've lost their youth. These guys approach new prospects and interest with the mindset of a young person. Blink 4evr
Joseph Stalin literally every song off of Nine has guitars what are you talking about? Just deal with the fact that it’s 2019/2020, not 1999. Of course it’s not going to be the same.
Joseph Stalin still every song has guitar. You said some songs without, but that’s false. The quietest it gets is BIOMY, but it’s still loud and clear to me. Do you really think in 2020, where technology is completely different, that they’re going to be producing music the same way as they did in the late 90s and early 2000s? You need help if you think that. Bands that don’t change their sound fail in the future because they pretty much suck. Blink is doing whatever they can to bring new sounds and attract new fans. Do you also not expect and 808s at all with Travis in the band. If Tom was still in the band, Travis would still put them in because he wants to have different types of drums and beats in his music, not just the same drums and sound every song. The 808s aren’t even bad at all. You have Remember to Forget Me which has it for one verse and then goes into a really good drumming part. On Some Emo Shit has them layered with real drums so it sound really good. Hungover You just sounds really good. Deal with it. Bands who don’t change their sound and production over the years won’t make it anywhere. There’s a reason why each album by them sounds different.
MLH Sunset neighborhoods was an album with almost entirely acoustic drums, down different production, still a whole new style and really beard strokey. Travis has made plenty of record with full acoustic drums buddy. And yes, I guess you’re right about every song “having” guitar. But it’s not in a prominent role except for a few outliers. They’re selling out and trying to appeal to pop listeners. Even California, which had super poppy production and plenty of 808s, was a good album. It actually had guitar which meant something in almost every song. And I never said anything about Tom. I know what his new music is like, And I’m not a fan of that either. Also what you say sounds great has 0 meaning on what I think sounds good, and vice versa.
@@gordman6432 I never said Travis hasn't put out records with full acoustic drums so I don't see your point. Of course he has, I'm not stupid. They're nowhere near selling out, i don't think you know what that means. If they were to sell out, every song would be only 808s with autotune. I loved California and California Deluxe, those albums were meant to sound more like Enema and Take Off. Of course they didn't, but they have clear influences from those albums. Nine is supposed to be more like their Self-Titled album which had plenty of electronics throughout the album. The sound of Nine isn't selling out to appeal to pop listeners. Songs like Generational Divide, Ransom, Black Rain, and No Heart to Speak Of would never make it anywhere on pop radio stations because they don't appeal to those listeners at all. The only song I would say off of Nine that could be successful on the radio is I Really Wish I Hated You. Still though, it's just as poppy as What's My Age Again? but with some more electronics since we're over 20 years in the future from that song. None of the other songs on the album would fit on the radio, not even BIOMY. On Some Emo Shit is too dark and sad for the radio, Remember to Forget Me is just an album closer, and then the other tracks just sound like good blink.
Truth be told, the humor is not the same. Here’s the thing about Tom Delonge, he’s a great songwriter, sounds great in the studio, but can’t sing live. Matt Skiba is a great song writer, sounds great in the studio, but his vocals live are not as distinct because he and Mark sound too much alike. Tom Delonge has admitted multiple times that he has been inspired by Matt Skibas song writing. Matt is not much of a talker and has done some things that some of the fans disagree with (Taking his guitar back from a fan who was playing with the band) However in that instance the fan didn’t know what he was doing, Even Mark Hoppus revealed that he thought the fan never should have asked to play if he didn’t know the song. Matt Skiba gets a bad reputation because he doesn’t talk much. The question is ,”Would you speak if you knew that no matter what you did nobody would accept you in Blink 182.” And honestly people need to accept change because nothing stays the same.
@@SteelCityEdge Ive seen the original Blink live and it was awesome....mind you it was also many years ago now lol. Humor, talent etc aside Mark, Tom and Travis are Blink 182 and they always will be. Skiba is a talented guy for sure and more on key singing. But it's still not the original. Very few bands other than AC/DC can loose a front man and keep the status quo.
well it always has been but producers have been a bit more on the alternative side of rock before, now it's more about the pop side of music producers making them sound like that
@@bbarrera86 I'd say that neighborhoods was the album where blink lost it's goofy charm and Tom became alternative as hell. When neighborhoods dropped, Blink-182 lost it's goofy charm that had been there since they started and they have not sounded like themselves since. I get that bands have to evolve but I feel like they switched up their sound entirely unnecessarily.
They should’ve asked Travis Barker about why he was bullying Echosmith. Maybe he should pay attention to the inappropriate pictures his kids post on Instagram instead of going after another bands drummer.
Matt’s a vampire 🧛🏻♂️
Travis is literally cheating death man, survived a plane crash and a bus crash like wtf?!?!
It's just not his time to go. We all cheated death, man.
Damn Travis is in charge of this one I’m curious AF
Another Blink-182 album delay, who could've guessed?!
Party on!
Love blink the best of the Best!
I agree
Todd Johnson not anymore
@@khloemcbride1628 ok

I'm so excited for this tour, sad I have to wait until September tho :(
Great interview! Weird they left out Pharell as they were so exited working with him, maybe that song didnt make it on the record.
No, they are working with him along with more guest artists for an upcoming EP.
🔥 Dude Ranch 🔥
I know this is an old take, but dammit bring Matt back/ Make blink a 4 piece !
I don't know why, but there is something to Mark's natural speaking voice that I just love. Can't explain it. I just think it's a cool voice.
I just can‘t image a blink interview without Mark 😅 would bei weird with Matt and Travis
best of luck !!
Yeah!
God’s either looking out for Travis or trying to take him out lmao
Blink 182 must be at the Hella Mega tour next year
Do a double! Fuck it!
Green Day did 3 album's hah 😂
4:49 2 new Songs in two weeks.!
Matt “Party Foul” Skiba
SMASHING PUMPKINS - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness... double album
Though I prefer “The Wall”... even though I’m a huge Pumpkins fan
I’m telling you, if they had Tom back for the tour , it would have been their biggest tour ever!
Travis didnt age holy shit
Lol it’s okay I’d be fanboying too
When he said the songs keep getting better and better...I laughed really hard
Edward Eberth happy days was great
😂😂
For real
The only reason the new blink i has relevances is because Travis is still there.
Obviously Matt is not in the band really just a temp and face.
AVA’s Love parts 1 and 2, duh!
After Tom left, they should have just gone on a hiatus or broken up. Without Tom it isn't blink. And Tom might want to come back at some point too...
Yeah
He has said multiple times he will join again.
Why There's hole in Travis's shirt?
PuNK GaMeR why not
it's called fashun sweaty
PuNK GaMeR because he's punk as fuck
Mark looks like Johnny Knoxville
Christopher O'Donnell He sounds more like Tom Hanks.
Need Tom back he would have shown up...
Yeah enema was way different lol
I’m not liking the sound of this album. 808s, new production techniques, some songs without guitar. I miss the old blink.
