His voice should be more prominent at liverpool. Also suggest you find the translation because of strong relevant n timely message. I inly want to sleep while the world is burning is sort of a provation for people to wake up n act
He makes connection with a video games where young people (and everyone else) are, artistically speaking, controlled by someone else and are just observers of all the horror happening around the Globe. He uses himself as a metaphor - (he only wants to sleep), as it is the easiest thing to do - to oversleep all the tragedies and to wake up in a better world. If you carefully look the performance - you will see that they are dancing as zombies as they are under anesthesia not reacting on this "world on fire" as he notices. However, the message of the song is quite opposite - we should all wake up, we should react, we should have more conscience and sapience that he calls on, especially to decision makers. At the end of the song he "releases" those "controlled" masses in order to become more active, more energetic and they together react - walk, make changes together. The "hello" part was written inspired by the Sims game, where the characters wave the player when they want something, instead of taking action, so he uses a parallel with people today.
In Serbia when someone dies relatives wear black for 40 days. Luke said that is where his name Black comes from, he was wearing black for 40 days, years ago because he was mourning death of Serbian music. 🤣
