Yep, great little machines Grooveboxes. Music is a mix of both 303 and 505 sample tracks.

Oh man, do I hate PCChips. I'm glad you replaced that motherboard. I remember spending countless hours trying to get a friend's PCChips motherboard to be stable. It was a Pentium 4, Willamette based motherboard, with "support" for both SDRAM and DDR RAM. It never ran stable with either. I also had a socket 7 PCChips motherboard, and after updating to the latest BIOS, the memory bandwidth went DOWN, and I hadn't backed up the original BIOS.

Maybe a joystick or gamepad for some of those games; possibly a steering wheel for the racing games. To make this the ultimate retro gaming pc build. Give it that little extra final touch. 15 pin gaming controllers are not too common now days; but you can still find them here and there at like thrift stores and ebay. It is also possible (maybe?) to add a PCI usb card. Drivers might be a pain. I know you can do it on Windows 98. Windows 95 not sure if USB drivers are even an option for that old of an Operating system. USB wasn't really a thing til the late 90's Maybe some third party or hacked drivers that might work. just a thought...........great upgrade video.

I've never really been a fan on racing wheels or joysticks, especially when it comes to vintage ones too. Yep, a usb card would be good. Haven't really needed one yet though, but if I do I'll consider doing that down the track. Thanks!
Also, I did in fact see your other comment, just for some reason, UA-cam decided to automatically delete it. It's been happening with a lot of comments on my channel, and I'm yet to find a solution.

Great job on making the video so glad you got rid of that PC Chip's motherboard that company made real garbage motherboards. PC chips should have been ashamed of themselves for the trash they flooded the markets with I don't know if PC chip still exists but if they don't then we're all better off. The only thing PC chips motherboards were ever good for we're target practice. If anyone from the PC chips company ever reads his comments shame on you and your CEO for wanting to make such trash you fill the world with. Your company is/was the epitome of how to not make motherboards.

Yeah it sure was a dodgy motherboard. Somehow I didn't connect the dots and figure out that PCPartners was PCChips when I built this PC! I'm pretty sure they run under the name ECS too, so they would be motherboards to avoid also. Yep, dodgy 90s PC parts, people just wanted cheap PCs back then!

@@ScanLinesAU Nope ECS and PC chips later united, not sure if ECS bought them, and there's no reason to avoid ECS because of that. They were making decent motherboards. Some of them was even admited by Anandtech in some reviews like pleasant suprise. Not best company to make motherboards, but not as bad as PC chips. You need to always investigate exact model. I mean by ECS.
PC chips had also few decent ones models.
Another company, for which PC Chips made motherboards, was Amptron. Some of them are rebranded PC Chips motherboards, they have same layout. So PC Partner and Amptron motherboards needs to be taken with care. Also, do not expect miracles from ECS, it's kinda average company, but for sure, it's not so bad, as PC chips.
Another company, that is kinda on PC chips level, is Matsonic.
I had very bad attitude to ECS too, mainly from this judging over internet, but then I see some reviews, in which ECS made very good motherboards, stable, and fast. Then I've changed my attitude, and understood, you need to judge exact model. ECS definetly not dropped on PC Chips level, after they've united. I would say just opposite, it was good move, as if PC chips continue to make motherboards on it's own.
Anyway, ECS is kinda good only on stock speeds, do not expect some overclock miracles. I mean, it is for sure not motherboard for overclockers. Just for stock speeds. It had decent price, good motherboard for OEM builds, where you do not expect user will overclock. Many of them worked good and reliable at stock speeds. It was good for office and non demanding users, but for retro computer, it's not wise to overclock to maximum, so they are ok for retro machine.

@@ScanLinesAU As an example. I provide this review by Anandtech
"Kudos to Gigabyte, Tyan, ECS and Shuttle for providing an example to follow."
      www.anandtech.com/show/491/26
They provided one of the first stable and fast VIA Apollo Pro Pentium II/III motherboards along with few other companies. Of course, as usual without overclocking features, but they were aimed at OEM market, where overclocking is not needed, but better price. With avarage stability, it was good job.
I saw later, after year 2000, some even better motherboards. But they had later also some issues. That's why Im saying, it needs to investigated. But they never made good overclockers boars, thats for sure, but for retro gaming, you usually want reliability, and stability, and durability, not speed and overclocking. As it's better to preserve retro hardware. So for this use, ECS have many decent boards. Not good to bash them automaticaly, because they''ve bought PC Chips.
