Taking this project on my self, with no experience. Your video is the most informative, concise one I have found on UA-cam. Thanks.
Thank you I hope you get the subscribe button and don’t forget to hit the like button it helps with my algorithm on UA-cam
How did your project turn out? And if you don’t mind me asking.....what was the cost of your project? I’ve got a 20x15 patio cover.
Thank you for showing me how to correct my project. Awesome work!
I hovered like this and checked the work as a contractor completed a similar project for me. It drove the contractor nuts but saved many mistakes, corrections, and ruined materials. I don't know the answer. As my father said, these guys want to "get done, get paid, and get out". That's all. Good video. Thank you.
Turned out real nice. Great job , greater crew. Still praying for you Drew. BigRed
Thank you, good video.
Thank you for stopping by and watching I hope I was helping you in someway. That is the reason why I make these videos.
Man yal do such great work one of these days I will have you come to Wv an do about 3 of my traliers... looking for the money lol
What’s the material called? I have been trying to find the panels on Home Depot and can’t seem to find it.
Must be nice to have carpenters that actually know what they are doing. I had a guy finish under my deck and it's unbelievable how crappy of a job he did
Thank you for the comment I can’t believe I missed it I usually try to answer all my comments and I appreciate your comment very much
How do you remove one of those panels after it’s all installed? I have a siding removal tool and they won’t budge
That’s what I use a siding removal tool you have to start at end not in the middle
Did you build this covered deck? Would love to see how it was built and attached to the roof.
Good video, but your voices are too low, I wanted to hear what you were saying, but it was a struggle. But I got the idea, thanks !
Shoot I’m using Sheetrock screws not nails incase I ever need to take it out ?
For real! Not to mention how much faster and less noisy than all that tedious hammering
At 8:27, what's that they're putting over the beam? This is what I want to tell my contractor to do but I'm not sure how to explain it.
Do you guys drive the nails all the way in or leave a little room between nail and soffit???? Thanks!
If you do not leave room the vinyl soffit will expand and cause wrinkles never nail siding or soffit or facia tight. Use galvanized inch and a quarter roofing nails.
I need to do the exact same thing. I checked with lowes and only see 12" x 12 ft. What was the manufacturer for the material. Thanks
All I can get is 12 foot also as far as the links and a width 12 inches six and six
It comes to feet by 50 foot it comes in a roll it’s called coil stock
Can this be nailed on 24 inch span or is that to much ? I want to do this in my garage but the rafters are 24 inches on center. Also I'll be doing aluminum to stay in code.
Nice video! Where can I buy the material to do this myself?
You can buy everything at Lowe’s hardware or Home Depot. It’s your choice.
How much will this cost for a 28 feet long and 15 feet wide.
Well when you go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and you buy the stuff it’s approximately two squares per box so you’re looking at about $80 per box. And two squares will cover honor 10 x 10 or 10 x 20 10 x 10 is one square 10 x 20 is two square You can buy the material fairly cheap at the building supply
Im trying to find how you make two ends up without it looking like trash
I Wish I could see what you’re working on maybe I could help
I decided to change the direction. We have a 50’x10’ wide porch we were wanting to go legnth wise across the porch . But the beaded celling is only 12’ long we have a gable over the center of the porch the two sides on either side of that gable are about 16 ft long roughly. If we had ran the legnth of that we would have had a joint where it butted up the only way i see i could have fixed that was add j channel and we dodnt want that so we changed the direction
Amazing job guys. Where can I buy this exact soffit and j-channel product?
I buy them at Lowe’s I believe they’re 12 foot long I cut them down to whatever I need
Incorrect, you never nail tight, you need to leave a small amount of room for your vinyl to expand and contract.
Exactly what I said. Never mail it tight as plastic will expand and cause wrinkles
Should I be placing any of the vented soffit?
You’re asking me if you should replace your vented soffit I’m not sure what you’re asking Robert
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair no we just got the patio/porch built similar to what you show in the video. I’m going buy soffit today… and I’m not sure whether to buy the soffit you have here in the video or the one with the holes I it.
If it needs to be vented then buy the one with the holes in it if it doesn’t need to be vented then buy the regular stuff to be honest I don’t think it matters which one you buy. Vented soffit is made for areas that need air circulation. Circulation is important for moisture. I generally use the vented on the outside boxing only. That would be The bottom outside edges in the boxing area the rest of it in the middle I would use solid. Thanks for the question hope I can help
Like I said the outside boxing should have holes in it for ventilation the interior part of your porch should be solid pieces I think we’re getting done it will look beautiful
Hands down the best soffit video I've seen. Thanks!
Thank you so much
