The plaza of dreams! It’s amazing to experience the completion personally. But to observe all the pilgrims dreams come true is my most favorite thing in the world (besides hugging my kids).
Very touching and emotional statements. When I finish my Camino I will come back to this video and share my feelings or emotions here on the comments. Happy Days. Buen Camino.
I had mixed emotions walking into Santiago. I only did a short Camino, but I was amazed I actually did it (I’m in my 60’s and not that fit). As l reflected though l thought I’d sold myself short and wished I’d did a longer Camino, which l plan to do. As pilgrims have reflected in this video, it was The Way itself that was the thing that hooked me and motivated me to reach Santiago. It is a unique experience.
For me it was all kinds of emotions, i did cry but not because of the arrival itself...In France i met someone who became a dear friend, we walked together for a few weeks but i didn't see him since we left SJPDP, he stayed an extra day in Santiago to wait for me, i cried when i saw him and when we hugged eachother. There where a few other caminofriends waiting for me at the plaza del Obradoiro and that was fantastic. I wasn't sad at all because i wasn't finished yet, i left for Muxia and Finisterre after Santiago but even without that i didn't see it as an end...rather the beginning of many beautiful things and many more camino's 🙂
😍 we feel blessed that not all our conversations are about socks and backpacks 🎒, that Camino gives us also a chance to talk about what really matters, share our emotions and inspire others to be the best version of themselves, thank you Nancy for sharing your thoughts with us 😘
I was expecting more, I was happy to meet with some friends that finished before us. But the true emotion for me was continuing to Finistère and seeing the ocean. In Cee I just sat there and look at the ocean for hours in reflection.
I was totally underwhelmed to be honest. The last parts of the camino Frances were. I felt like I was participating in some mass walking event. Only positive note was that I met some friends with whom we had split ways in Leon. Other than that, I found Santiago to be a relatively modest city full of tourists and the usual plethora of souvenir shops. Nothing of the Camino atmosphere to be found there whatsoever. I even refused to enter the Cathedral because I was sick of visiting churches at that point, imagine queueing for one.
Thanks for that! We love to hear all points of view, not only the positive ones! It shows us that we are all unique and each camino is a personal journey that cannot be generalised as “one-fit-all”, thanks 🙏
I have a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye every time I arrive at Obradoiro. It’s a very powerful and emotional place for me.
❤️
So true, i feel an energy there that i can't quite explain...i just love being there 🙂

We love sitting in the square and watching pilgrims arriving on the square! One of the happiest places on earth 🌍

Thanks for sharing your deep reflections, it’s really inspiring!
I agree with Agata! I have done the Camino only once, but I enjoyed being away from all the everyday hustle.
Same here!

How interesting! Discovering the magic in the most unexpected moments… that’s Camino! Big hugs Christine
I cried for 2 hours in Finisterra.
❤️❤️❤️
