Im Finna Pass On This Body Like John Stockton
Admit you're here bc of Kendrick.
Lol yes but Stock is a legend
I'm finna pass on his body like a John Stockton 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fact
The crazy thing is I started watching John Stockton highlights at the barber shop and that song came on while I was watching.
lol
The man uses the simplest moves to max efficiency. Change in directions, passing, layups, pick and roles, cuts.
He’s also quick asf
John Stockton missed only 22 games in 19 seasons. He made it to the playoffs every year of his career. Made it to 5 Western conference championships and 2 NBA Finals appearances. He has the most steals and assists in NBA history which no one will ever surpass. All this to say, he's a legend.
He almost 4000 more assists than the next closest. Insane
best PG = Stockton
best SG =Jordan
Hes the goat pg in my opinion. He could score and did it efficiently too.
Big facts
He’s not better than magic , curry , cp3 , Jerry west , Oscar Robertson
To me John Stockton is the greatest pure point guard in NBA history.
You mean, "a guy that kind of... dribbles the ball up the court and doesn't do too much, but he makes the right passes... ocasionally he shoots a shot by himself".
Na bro cp3
@@15awesomehighfive The kind of guy that actually calls plays, sets up players, can score, shoot the ball well, ran screens, plays defense, etc.
@@donzxz4282 what 😂😂😂
They don't understand what a true fundamental point guard is. Jason Kidd Steve nash Magic Johnson John Stockton.
He was a monster. You’d watch and it didn’t look like much then you’d see the stars and somehow he had 12 points, 14 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. It was ridiculous.
That’s makes players like russel westbrook two times better than him 😂
@@kyoshy5944 Truly the players make the difference in the eras. The 90’s and 80’s were fulfilled with hard defenses and medium range shots.
Nowadays it looks like everyone should know how to shoot from 3 and a foul gets called whenever there’s some contact
@@kyoshy5944 That makes Westbrook an empty stat collector that hurts his team's chemistry and never been past the first round of the playoffs as the best player on his team.
@@kyoshy5944 Not really. Stockton is in the record books. #1 all time in both assists and steals. The only player #1 in two categories. Top tier defender. His performance also translated into wins, at least far more than Westbrooks ever had
@@MistaWordz Russ > KD. Russ took them to the finals
This guy never wasted a dribble
The John Stockton slander is crazy considering how we cooked MJ on the second play of this LMAO
Facts
When it was a flex to be a point guard. Absolute greatest true pg.
I’m finna pass on his body, I’m John Stockton! 🔥
Now all point guards wanna be shooting guards. Stockton was the purest PG ever to play.
A guy with the assists record recording an assist on the same possession that he set the steals record is wild.
Ppl don’t realize how quick he actually was
He was just so quick!
The Robin Hood of the NBA:
He stole the most and he gave away the most.
Excellent
😂😂
Genius
😂😂😂
Not only assists, but he was a big-time steal guy and could shoot the 3
People don’t realize how quick and strong he actually was
his game is humble and beautiful.
His pass skill was so fantastic..wonderful★
My son come to me expressing a desire to play basketball but thought he was too small, I showed him this highlight of one of the G.O.A.T's
I mean he was 6’2” wasn’t he?
can’t even lie i’m new to the basketball world but started playing 2K with my friend who’s a fan and stockton happen to be on a team i was playing with. the dude was such a monster in the game i had to see what was up in real life. this dude is the truth
Best PG to ever play. Period.
This guy gets it!
The real PG
Magic is 1000x better
@@d3adyoutubeaccountno he wasn't
@@electromancer2645 Magic has 5 rings and 3 finals MVPs
I’m finna pass on this body, I’m John Stockton
The courtside camera work in this video is incredible.
High confidence and morale are such game changers.
He was sort of the perfect point guard. He could defend extremely well. He could score and score with very high efficiency. Obviously his career assists and steals records might never be broken. He rarely missed games. His ability to score was very, very underrated.
ALL TIME ASSISTS.
ALL TIME STEALS.
🎤⬇️
He is clutch too you won't hear about much clutch Shooters it's like Stockton
@@xavierpena9921 He had more game winners than missed games
And by a long way.
The Jerry Rice of the NBA.
His assists per game in that stretch was unbelievable. 12, 13, 14 assists per game while putting up 15 ppg. Amazing.
10 Double-double seasons….10!!!
714 regular season double-doubles for his career, 7th in NBA history ahead of LeBron, Westbrook, Nash, CP, Barkley…
20th all time in True shooting %(.608), leading the league in 3 seasons
6th all time in Win Shares, 8th in box Plus/Minus
Don't get any better than Stockton to Malone.
They were my favorite duo as a kid!
Unstoppable.
I’m sure Malone like you too
I never realized how much john stockton plays like a quarterback
If you hold the assist and steals record in the nba.... youre the goat pg
YEAH!!!
Stockton is my second favorite player behind Tim Duncan. Don't care if people call me boring. Boring is beautiful and Stockton is the purest point guard of all time on both ends of the floor. And just like Duncan, he stayed with the franchise and never complained. Consummate professional. Absolutely love rewatching those 97/98 Finals matchups with the Bulls and getting treated to both the GOAT and Stockton battling.
Is your favorite music elevator instrumentals and enjoy shopping at the Gap too? 😂 I’m jk I respect it. Both HOF
I'd say anyone who plays basketball should watch Tim Duncan and John Stockton play. They both mastered all the fundamentals for their respective positions. Not to mention both of them had insane longevity. Definitely 2 of the greatest to ever play basketball..
There's something pretty beautiful about a player who can dominate the game with the simplest of moves.
As someone who watched and loved that whole era, what people today don't realize is Stockton was a deadly shooter also, he just didn't shoot often and always looked to pass 1st unless he was wide open or the game was on the line. He shot very little. He could have easily had a higher scoring average if he jacked up shots like today's PGs do.
Stockton did not shoot enough especially in crunch time that was the only criticism
Today's point guards play more like shooting guards, fr.
Especially guys like Kyrie, Lillard, and to a lesser extent, Steph Curry. I'd also argue that Westbrook would have been more suited to the SG position.
the very first time I saw Stockton played (on tv), he made 4 straight perimeter shots, and I was like whoah that dude sure is amazing, he made it look easy
A 6'1" guy being 5x all defensive is wild.
Pure player nothing flashy all efficiency
I know its been said alot but older basketball just feels so different to today. Now it feels like highlight reels, where before it just seems like guys had to really balance skill and fundamentals to win games.
Skill intelligence heart!
Who’s here after that Lamar bar 😅
Nobody told me Stockton was a guaranteed bucket at the buzzer
He used to come into the grocery store I worked at. He never acted like a superstar. He was just another guy.
He made alley-oop passes look effortless
Stockton is the definition of 'point guard'
Damn i didn't realize his stats were astronomical!
VERY FEW PPL DO
Stockton was one of my favorite point guards growing up. He didn't have handles like Isaiah and wasn't flashy like Magic, but lord almighty did he get the job done.
He played straight to the point, no pun intended.
My hero
JOHN STOCKTON ❤❤❤
This video does a good, no, great, job of capturing Stockton's competitive spirit and undivided attention to the task at hand. So thankful for this perspective from the baseline!
Choking on the dong much?
@@superstar7even Right.
an overlooked point with Stockton is that he played with the all time leader in free throws, Karl Malone, which diminished his assist totals a lot. I heard Chris Ford make this point on the Simmons podcast circa 2007. Stockton should have had more assists, because on a lot of the plays Malone was just looking for the foul. Chris Ford made the point that Stockton got screwed on a lot of his assists due to this factor.
Could be a good one. If the player who gets fouled makes a freethrow, and so adding a point to the score. The player who assisted before the foul should get rewarded with a assist. Without that assist he wouldnt have got to the line anyway.
OVERLOOKED??? ONLY PLAYER TO REACH 2 ALL TIME NBA CAREER STATS WITH ONLY 1 HALL OF FAMER AND ONLY 1 NBA ALL STAR. MAGIC HAD 4, BIRD HAD 3 KING JANES HAD 20. AND MORE THAN THAT AT DA END O HIS CAREER.
Thanks for this great video.. it was like being on the floor with him! Can truly appreciate his hard fundamental game
He's killing legends in this video. And it's hard to believe he was playing lights out in his late 30s when the Western Conference was dominant.
Johnny stock. What a player.
his presence of mind was top notch
One of the most underrated players of all time.
Isn’t it ironic though that Malone was nicknamed the Mailman, when Stockton looked like an actually mailman lol
Malone is called the mailman because he literally was delivering home all those passes The Vault made.
@@joweydelanota7421 Malone was perfect for the mailman, he doesn't deliver on sundays
Malone was a mailman, Stockton was a post office
He’s a legend and Olympic Gold Medalist ❤ and was a member of The OG Dream Team 🏀
wasn't flashy but still the GOAT
The GPGOAT. The GOAT was on the bulls
A goat. Each sport has a goat farm and he just happens to be on that farm.
most underated player of all time
Always reminded me of the guy who owned the store than Kenaan worked at in Keenan and Kel
That first pass. Omg.. bro dropped a dime
Kendrick brought me here
Same 😂
Johns Stockton is the GOAT pound for pound.
Breaks my heart the Jazz
That's back when the NBA was peaking, look at it now, sad.
If Earvin Johnson didn't had those MVPs and Championships... JOHN STOCKTON is the GREATEST POINT GUARD in NBA History.
That first play was absolutely ridiculous
An outlet pass? 😂😂
@@TuckerSports yes an outlet pass. Do you understand the timing, power and sheer accuracy needed to put that pass right on the money where only Malone could get it? Not to mention the awareness to understand that he was the best person to grab that board, so he could make the throw.
@@TuckerSports saying from a baseball fan who knows nothing about basketball lmao
@@TuckerSports U DID NOT PLAY
The legend John Stockton; slept on by many, but was an exceptional point guard and basketballer.
Great upload. Saw most of those games back in the day. Hoping to see similar video of Malone highlights. How I wish Stockton was more agressive in those Finals series in 98. We were so close.
Also you never see him winded, him and rodman had great stamina.
What a legend!
John Stockton damn shame he didn't get a ring. One of the best pure point guards to ever play the game. I'd say my favorite point guards are him Nash and magic
he broke Jordan's ankle 😸 1:17
(btw Jordan fan here, just stating fact)

If you don’t like John Stockton it’s probably because of his color, because the man could play.
Good luck chasing this Man’s records 😅…never flashy, but terrifying with consistency!! 🔥🔥🔥💯
John stockton one the best playmaker of all time
Definitely one of the greats
Love Stockton. I gotta buy his jersey. I already have a Bird, Dirk, Luka, Jason Williams, Jokic, and Maravich. Stockton will be joining soon.
bros collecting the whites only
John Stockton was the Steve Nash of the Jordan Era
Except Stockton was an all-time great guard defender and Nash was the opposite of that lol.
I think Stockton was a bit better than Nash.
Give me Stockton
Yeah 0 rings and overated u right
@@gorcsauce696 You have nothing and will never be anything! Keep talking hero!!!
Stockton set some nasty screens. He was small but physical and strong. Played 18 seasons and his last 4 seasons played all 82 games. Only 3 seasons under 82 games.
Dedicated fellow. As a collegian at Gonzaga, Stock was given the keys to the gym by coach Fitzgerald so he could get in and practice by himself overnight.
In my opinion, the best NBA point-guard of all time
John Stockton amazing.
He was so dang good. If he isnt in your top 3, you dont know the PG spot.
Simple game no fancy moves, but very lethal and effective
Underrated strong true point guard
Idk about underrated. He's usually considered a top 5 pg of all-time.
@@MistaWordz Well, his athleticism is certainly underrated. Just because he couldn’t jump.

@@markcothran2615 I don’t know what you’re talking about. But yes, I played, D3 back in college. Not sure what I said that was illogical. John Stocktons athleticism is in fact underrated. One of those reasons is because of his vertical, or lack thereof.
@@markcothran2615 I’m thinking English must not be your native language. If that’s in fact the case, I suppose it makes sense as to why you’d misconstrue my comment.

i'm convinced. if you think stockton wasn't good or is overrated.... you don't know ball
4:50 that’s the cleanest block I’ve ever seen how he called a foul
I was kid watching this in NYC. My brother was a bulls fan. Me, Knicks. I rooted for the Jazz in that series haha. Mike is the GOAT.

Too bad they never really had a solid third option
The best duo on al sports

Jordan and Stockton would have been a great combo
Im from NJ so have been a lifelong Nets fan but the Jazz was my Western Conference team and John Stockton was one of my favs of all time. Cant tell you how many times Jordan broke my heart for Stockton. That game winner should have never happened when he pushed off Bryant Russel. Still stings me lol
Great point guard, famous for the short shorts.

Having the balls to even attempt that first pass in that situation let alone throw a dime is incredible
