I've been watching GA for 6 years now. How is it that I watched every video and I still find myself saying "Right! I forgot about that" and learning something in every...single... video. Thank you so much for lighting the gardening flame in me.
It is so helpful how you include a snapshot of the blooms as you mention each variety. It must be a lot of extra work to do so. Just want to say thank you.
If you put the corms in separate bulb bags (or other mesh bag) with the label inside you can put all the bags in one sink and then do the slow drip for aeration, soaking them all at once. :)
@@jgwood10 That would be time-consuming! I think the original comment actually meant put each *variety* in a bulb bag with a label, so you can use a single bucket or something to soak them all at once without getting them mixed up. I've seen that trick in some other ranunculus how-to videos
read this and immediately remember floret doing the same! stoped the video and grabbed my bulb bags that I knew I saved for some reason and set mine up! I have only 30 to start this year with my first year. now to resume the video! LOL
That's my plan for the year. I'm not starting near as many as Laura, but hoping to put each of my varieties in seperate mesh bags all in a large 5-gallon bucket.
Omg, Cheddar! Leave the tomato plants alone! That made me laugh 😃. I have to thank you Laura, for the tip on pre-moistened potting mix/soil when planting in pots. I'm trying it with my garden this season (it's late summer here in Australia!) & it's been a game changer! My balcony garden is thriving! Thank you again-love your channel!
Good morning, Laura! Please DO NOT stop sharing all your seed starting and things like this! We love to see it! It is not redundant it is different every time and we are all learning together. I could watch you do anything and it would inspire me to get my butt up and do stuff! It can be so hard for me in the winter. Xoxo 😘 P.S. Where did you get your geranium seeds?
Laura, here it is on what could be a boring February day with nothing really needing our attention in the garden, yet you have pulled out several things that were simple and fun. Just hanging with you while you do a variety of gardening and non-gardening things are always enough to keep us engaged & having coffee with you every morning, thanks for letting us tag along : D
Good morning Laura!! Thanks for being here this morning. Can't wait to see them grow. Always look forward to seeing you every morning while having my coffee💞🥰. Have a wonderful day💞🥰
Thank you 4 showing the pictures of each flower/variety. Very helpful & fun to see what to expect. Also fun to read comments from all over the world! 😊Thanks to you & Aaron for joining us together!👍🌺🌻🌼🌷🌾
Can't wait to get outside, too. I've bought a headlamp so I can go after my little one is in bed, but long-covid has made me so tired after work... ah well... soon. I'm very excited for spring. Here everything is a month early. There's some daffodils about to open, not an early variety, just in planters at a church in town. They are there every year, but this year, they are very early!
Where are you? Best wishes for your continued recovery. I’m an ICU nurse and GA in the car on my way home from a 12 hr night shift has really helped me get through these last 2 years of caring for Covid patients. I just went back to work a few days ago after being off myself with Covid. Certain it was the Omicron strain as I’m still alive! But it has really worn me out. The fatigue is no joke. Anyway, may your health continue to improve and blessings to you. 😊♥️
@@staceyallard2692 I’m in the U.K., in East Anglia. Sorry for the late reply, UA-cam stopped telling me about messages - I just saw I had loads!! GA really has been getting all of us through hard times! I’m glad you’ve recovered well! I just had blood tests yesterday and due a chest x-ray soon, then my doctor can refer me to the long Covid clinics. I’m sure I’ll be on a waiting list though - I’m not a high priority, there are many who have it worse than me, mostly those who caught Covid before the vaccines were out.
Your enthusiasm and knowledgeable education make growing even these gorgeous plants I've always thought were too complicated doable! Thank you for sharing so much joy with so many of us.
Thanks for taking us along today. I too went out into my fenced garden area. Finally, no ice or snow to hamper the way. I even sat on my garden bench and took in the sunshine, fresh air, beautiful blue sky and white whisp clouds. The robins were even canoodling in the trees. I found several small sprouts of this and that trying to emerge. I came right inside and went to internet to order some bulbs. Anticipation and patience are hand in hand right now.
I love your fearless, undaunted spirit in the garden, Laura. You were willing to soak the 'non-stored' old corms just to see if they'd come back, and it was worth it! and even though soil is frozen, you show how to regain charge of your pots in the dead of winter. Really prepping the way towards spring, and tugging us along with you! I'm trimming today!❤
Wow, you have so much patience to take the tubers out of the ground and store them than plant them again....in this case sprout then plant them.....oh boy a lot of work! I guess, I got spoilt when I lived in Southern California for over 20 years....never took anything out of the ground....now am in zone 7 and still didn't take anything out of the ground... Always impressed with your dedication even after years of watching you, I still marvel! 🤣 Just a pleasure to watch you and how excited you are to plant inspires me and takes me to the garden. I would probably not marvel as much if I didn't have mobility issues right now. So thankful that I get in the garden with you every day! I love it!❤🤗❤
Good morning Laura and family, Today I'll be celebrating 6 years watching your Garden Answer Channel by going and buying some ranunculus, Never thought of using moss out doors in my containers hopefully the squirrels won't bother it, I am so excited for Spring. thank you for always sharing your garden knowledge. Have a lovely rest of the day. 🌼 🙂
I’ve never tried Ranunculus but now you’ve inspired me, they’re so pretty & you make it look so easy❣️ I did had to chuckle as I watched you spray paint & plant! I have small hands too & rarely wear gloves because they don’t fit well & I feel I manage things better with my bare hands but as a result I don’t have the pretty nails & if I’m painting I wear the color on my hands for a day or so. Always using lots of hand cream I find OKeeffee’s Working Hands to be beneficial. I’m sure there’s many other kindred gardeners who just like to get their bare hands into the dirt too❤️❤️
I do all my planting etc with bare hands also. I agree I would have it outer me and the barn as well. I’m much better with a brush and tin of paint. That aside I did see Laura move the rocks under the pot with her shoe as it did get some of them.
I can’t wait to be doing this in my garden this year. I have already purchased my bulbs and they will arrive mid to late March early April. I have 225 coming, mixed colours same varieties as yourself plus I have sparaxis mixed colours, grape hyacinth and freesias in mixed colours... I can’t wait to see my garden burst into colour come spring. 🌷 I love 💕 watching this channel, it gives me so much hope that I have a chance of a little success with my garden.
It’s so exciting to see your so ready to planting outside . I think as gardeners we tend to get impatient with the weather ,we want to get out there and just garden and feel the soil on our hands , lol. Watching you get so excited makes me want to do the same , lol .thank you for all your knowledge that you pass on to us I appreciate you and the information that you have shared has made a world of difference in my gardening. So for that I thank you so very much especially when life throws you some curveballs . There is always that constant love to grow things and it’s a most relaxing thing to do for the well-being of my life. Thank you so very much ❤️❤️
Never would I ever have imagined actually getting to meet you when my husband and I visited your parent's gorgeous store today. I think I was a little star struck, but if it showed, you were very generous to not show your irritation. You are so gracious and kind to take the time to talk with us. Your channel has been a game-changer for me and my gardens. Now that my husband is retired, he can help me make them even better. Thank you for your inspiration.
I definitely have the itch too! I think we all do. Keep the early seed starting and pre-spring preparations coming because you are so motivating for us still in cold climates 🥶
😂 oh yes, wherever you are, if there’s that first late winter/early spring sunshine, we are all getting that buzz and want to get started! I certainly feel that way here in The Cotswolds 😃🧡💚🇬🇧
I CANNOT wait to see the show these ranunculus & anemones put on! Last year was absolutely breathtaking. Laura, i have the same “itch” for the growing season! Winter.. you’ve had your moment now its time to move on!
I caught myself thinking "how can one make moss and pinecones look pretty at a plant base"...and then I saw the outcome and instantly realized..."Oh snap!!! We are talking about Laura here!"...Loving all you share (as usual) from North Idaho zone 6a 💚 🌿
I invested in 500 ranunculus * anenomes this year 👏 I hope mine look as good as yours did last year! If I even succeed with half of them- I think it'll be great!
More mom and daughter Videos your mom is so nice you and her are the perfect team I have watched many mom and daughter videos you guys are my favorite thank you for sharing you always make my day see you in the next one
Greetings! I just discovered your videos two weeks ago and they make me very happy! We live in a very nice new property with lots of space for gardening and your videos are giving me lots of wonderful ideas and information on perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees. Today, is getting warm here like where you leave and so I did some cleaning in the garden. Also, because of watching your video on Aquapots, I purchased two and got them Monday. Today, I am unboxing them, and they look great. I just finish watching your video on ranunculus and always wanted to try to grow them, so I am definitely getting some this year. Your channel has provided me with such much pleasure, hope and optimism. I wish you a wonderful day. Thank you!
I’m itching too! Thank you for you knowledge. I remember when you pulled those out and thought it sounded difficult but you make it easy. Let the boys fight/play I’d love to see it😂
Oh boy getting a head start lots of work involved but how beautiful it’s going to look. Spraying the black pots looks so much better like brand new. Good job Laura.
Hi Laura, what a wonderful way to start my day with my morning coffee with a lovely video from you! Thank you so much for sharing, you bring so much joy and happiness, take care, stay well! Kathy x (Ontario, Canada)
Your excitement and enthusiasm is very contagious! I so appreciate your knowledge and experience and the fact that you share it with everyone! You give me encouragement, excitement and confidence that even I can do this. Thank you 😊
I understand what your saying about getting outdoors to get a head start on gardening projects Its been so nice here In Oklahoma this week I should be doing the same thing I guess maybe your video gave me a little boost lol.anyway look forward to seeing your pretty blooms In the spring
We love to see the start of this year's glory already! I am feeling that itch too, to get out in the yard and get things going for the upcoming seasons. Tempting to call in sick to work while we've got some sunshine (Because we all know Ireland is infamous for its sunshine! And in a coastal town no less!), but maybe I can convince my guy that the perfect Valentine's day gift is planting my own flowers instead of buying them from the store. Thanks as always for the inspration and sharing your enthuiasm with us! Cheers from Galway! 🍀
Just finished watching your video and I'm itching to get my hands on some rununculus corms.....your enthusiasm is so contagious!!!Thankyou for sharing!!!♥️
I know what u mean about the sun. It was 39* here but the sun was wonderful. I was at work and open my door at lunch time and sat inside but In the full sun. So energizing. Love watching u every day
Have you ever had a snake problem in any of your gardens? I recently learned that snakes like to shelter among large shrubs, tall grasses, and mulch. We will be moving to our country property next year, and I’m having to re-think all the prospective plants I was hoping to add to my garden! ☹️ Living in Texas is probably a big factor! I look forward to your videos every morning! Thank you for all the inspiration! Tina
You have two cats, not one. 😄 Pre-Sprouting Ranunculus and Anemones is a great idea. I planted Ranunculus and Anemones last fall in containers and spent a lot of time and energy taking care of them during the winter. 😢😢 Half of Anemones were rotten and Ranunculus is still tiny. I didn't have to do that...I should've waited and done it in Feb or in March. Thank you for this idea and I'll try this way next time.
Well the outside container Spruce up bug has bit me after watching you Spruce up your outside containers! I am anxious to watch those Ranunculus & Anemones put on their color show this season, those colors are going to be gorgeous!! 😃💚🌸🧹✂️
Thanks for this video Laura,I have some ranunculus to pre spout and like you I went around my containers, and I cleaned them up.I checked on my containers with bulbs and they are doing fine.
I had commented that I’d love to see a ranunculus/anemone video again. Don’t know if you saw it but thank you so much! I’m trying my hand at them for the first time this year. I did find out that it can take 9 weeks to presprout if you don’t soak them the designated 4 hours. I pulled them out at 2 hours. Didn’t realize until I planted them that if only done it two hours
I bought a huge amount of bulbs and corms on close-out in December and accidentally forgot about them. They were outside so if they needed a chilling period, they sure got it! Just found them and went straight to your channel for help. Watching your content is so helpful when working with new plants- I learn so much and feeling when I have success is so encouraging! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Q: when pre-sprouting in soil, do the trays need any light? My garage is the perfect temp for the process, but has no light so not sure it it will work.
I'm so excited to try ranunculus for the first time this Spring!! I've never looked more forward to Spring and Summer coming since I stared watching your channel last year. I've learned so much. Thank you!!😁💐🌷🪴🌻
Thank you Laura, I follow many YT flower channels but yours is my favorite! You rarely leave me hanging with questions as you usually answer them within the video however, I planted a few ranunculus and anemones today but do not know if they require light to sprout. I do have them in my garage at 40• (NY zone 6b). Last year they all rotted in my 62• basement. 😭
I live about 14 hours north of you- I think you have more snow than me right now! We have had the warmest last few weeks it’s absolutely bizarre -logically I know it’s not time to start seeds but it’s barely freezing at night
Hi Laura, you guys have one of the best audios that I have heard on youtube, especially considering you film outside, most of the time. I usually have to reduce volume when i watch your audio :)
Ugh, I had to keep looking away at the spider/crab lookalikes you were planting. They gave me the heebie-jeebies! I actually caught myself holding my breath and kept telling myself they're not really spider/crab mutations from Mars.
The weather in the world at the moment is crazy. I’m in Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 and so have opposite seasons than you guys in the northern hemisphere. So our summer, where I am anyway, was a total washout! Too much rain drowned everything in the veggie patch and caused us to give up on the outside garden and just play around with out houseplants - which we have a huge amount of also! But because my climate is so mild I’m finding our autumn, winter and spring are the best times to grow… so for once I’m on the same schedule... 😀 YAY So I’m also starting seeds and planning a new garden bed, which is perfect timing to gather amazing inspiration and courage from the before and after’ s series so I might be able to create something fabulous… Tropical/classic. I’m even think having heliconias AND hydrangeas in the same bed!! It’s crazy but I have chronic health issues so it also motivates me and gives me such incredible joy. Thank you for being my almost daily coach and inspiration. Your down to earth ‘real’ personality and Aaron’s support feeds my belief in myself and my mum who lives in our Granny Flat and is also disabled is my best friend and we garden together almost everyday weather and health permitting. We love go thrift shopping and help each other when one of us has a medical issue come up like the surgery I’m having in April. Im having my colon removed and a very intense hernia repaired, so have to plan drip systems etc so it’s not too much for mum… but as for rehab, coming out just to visit with the garden will be fabulous and time to really get the new bed design sorted while I can’t move. Thank you again for all you share, it truly is my medicine, my inspiration and my motivation to keep this ‘bleep’ of a body moving. You won’t ever know what you do for others… but for me it’s A LOT 🥰 I’m just so grateful I found your channel, thank you one and all there as Garden Answer team. 🌸🤗💜🦋
Hi Laura, thanks for the great video. I assure you we all want to see the same things over and over as that's how you learn! Question, if you plant the pre-sprouted ranunculus directly into the garden, would you go through the process of hardening off the same as if it were a seedling?
Mystery solved…..I was wondering why Laura’s hands were black in the recap video on Sunday. Spray painting pots black will do that 😆. I had a light bulb moment when you sprayed them. I’ve often found pots I like but not the colour I like, never thought to spray paint them. Once again Laura has solved the problem, thanks for the idea 💡 Love your Chanel and the videos, keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see everything in the spring, should be beautiful 💕
You're a very brave woman to spray paint those black pots next to that white building! I'd have an absolute mess on my hands. I guess this is a good time to say "know your strengths" and spray painting is NOT one of mine. 😂 Looking good!
Off topic a bit. I just placed an order with Proven Winners yesterday for some of the beautiful bubblegum supertunia vista that I saw on your channel. I’m hoping they will do well in containers at the end of the driveway. Thanks so much for introducing me to them.
You are so motivating, where do you get your energy from? Great to watch you every morning. Can you please show in your future video, how to propagate Ranunculus

And here I was thinking wow... That must be a good microphone because I could very clearly hear the texta marker whilst you were writing x
Tina
Love from Poland❤🌱
You have two cats, not one. 😄 Pre-Sprouting Ranunculus and Anemones is a great idea. I planted Ranunculus and Anemones last fall in containers and spent a lot of time and energy taking care of them during the winter. 😢😢 Half of Anemones were rotten and Ranunculus is still tiny. I didn't have to do that...I should've waited and done it in Feb or in March. Thank you for this idea and I'll try this way next time.
I heard freesias! My favorite flower of all time. The aroma is intoxicating!
Well the outside container Spruce up bug has bit me after watching you Spruce up your outside containers! I am anxious to watch those Ranunculus & Anemones put on their color show this season, those colors are going to be gorgeous!! 😃💚🌸🧹✂️
HI,MRS.LAURA,,GOD BLESSED YOU AND FAMILY....CLEVELAND, OHIO.
You Also Juila🙏🏼✨
I loved the peek behind the scenes at the corms and the cats!
Good morning! 🌻🐝
Good morning 🌱☕
I’m a new fan who loves your channel…thanks for the info
I am so pumped to watch you all season long excited for things to pop off!
They look like mini dahlia tubers 🌸
I use an old cereal box when spraying my pots, covers more area 🙂
Trimming up a pot is like getting a real good haircut..feels good and looks great!
Hi 👋 Kathy how are you doing?
Ohhh 😍 I hope so much that little Samantha G has your bright and beautiful smile. 😊
I really want to try growing some rununclus this year! I loved seeing you do them last year and this Year.
Im so excited. I bought primrose today. Couldnt help it. 8b portland oregon color is coming out and I see buds on trees. Spring im getting ready!!!
I'm so excited to try ranunculus for the first time this Spring!! I've never looked more forward to Spring and Summer coming since I stared watching your channel last year. I've learned so much. Thank you!!😁💐🌷🪴🌻
What fun projects!
Can't wait to feel that warmth, it just keeps snowing here. Got the itch as well for growing, but I am going to be patient.
Planting the Anemones out in the fall could be a good experiment to start this coming fall!
Thank you Laura for feeding my need to grow!!
Look at the Arbs!!
Thanks for sharing. We need Spring to arrive. ☀️
You are amazing, love your passion for plants and flowers👏👏👏
Hi Laura, you guys have one of the best audios that I have heard on youtube, especially considering you film outside, most of the time. I usually have to reduce volume when i watch your audio :)
Awesome tutorial I do believe I too can have a spring flower garden. Thank you.
Can't wait to see these in the landscape
😀 YAY
So I’m also starting seeds and planning a new garden bed, which is perfect timing to gather amazing inspiration and courage from the before and after’ s series so I might be able to create something fabulous… Tropical/classic.
You won’t ever know what you do for others… but for me it’s A LOT 🥰
I’m just so grateful I found your channel, thank you one and all there as Garden Answer team. 🌸🤗💜🦋
Hi 👋 Sarah how are you doing?
Wowza! It’s fun to see how you work your magic!!!
Hi Laura, thanks for the great video. I assure you we all want to see the same things over and over as that's how you learn! Question, if you plant the pre-sprouted ranunculus directly into the garden, would you go through the process of hardening off the same as if it were a seedling?
Just a girl in her Van’s 🏆💚💚💚💚💚💚
They will knock your socks off!
Getting started feels so good to be head o the game. Great video
I already have spring fever here in Ohio! The days getting longer is what I notice most.
Can you briefly go over the growing conditions required for anemones and ranunculus?
You are so motivating, where do you get your energy from? Great to watch you every morning.
Can you please show in your future video, how to propagate Ranunculus
😵my cold frame was 82 inside when I checked. Was a huge difference than outside. I’m getting the itch for Spring too.
Love your videos. They are so helpful and enjoyable
