ML wasn't sure about FL's feeling that's why he left, FL wasn't sure about ML either bcoz she didn't know him that well yet that's why she keeps pushing him, so their meetings and goodbyes were totally reasonable, it was just coincidentally paired with unfortunate events that is why it was tragic. One of the best kdrama i've ever watched and no one can convince me otherwise.

But what he did was he doubted her and abandoned her in Shinyang. And there is are hero Lee. He love her like a psycho. Remember his words "If something bad happened to her, I will die" . That's love. When they appear on the screen I will forget to breathe. This is such a masterpiece drama.
