Not gonna lie, this looks more interesting than watching regular tennis. Mad respect to these men
Okay from now of on watch this instead otherwise it was a lie.
@@verlatenwolf he probably doesn't watch tennis at all
He just spends his time commenting what ppl like to hear with zero integrity.
@@verlatenwolf I don’t care about people’s opinion. Tennis is boring to watch and I like to comment on videos that are interesting. Take your virtue signaling and shove it
If it was more interesting then more people would watch it. Just because youre clueless about "regular tennis" doesnt mean it doesnt sell out stadiums. Just because you dont find it interesting doesnt mean it isnt interesting
The arm strength is just on another level.
The leg strength, not so much
@@thatoneguyyeshim505 no need for that but whatever

Amazing strength

These guys are proper athletes man. The amount of difficulty playing tennis in a wheelchair.
This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in sports in a minute. Mad respect yo.
I’ve never thought I’d enjoy it. Then I umpired them for a week and it changed my mind. It’s a pleasure to watch :)
The amount of upper body strength is unbelievable, how can they swing that hard when they were in a sitting position while maneuvering wheels with they hand. MAD RESPECT TO THESE ATHLETES
I think our arms being inverse levers doesnt help with pulling the wheels I'm really impressed
And to do it repeatedly is some mad strength aswell, can’t even imagine how tough that is so I’m with you, shame they don’t get as much recognition as regular tennis players!
Well they do have a bit of a weight reduction.....
It’s like throwing a ball sitting down not that hard if you have core strength
The coordination it takes is ridiculous
Can you imagine the core strength and more importantly muscular endurance it takes to do this. Absolutely mind boggling mad respect
These guys probably have to eat like hippos to fuel this. Amputees expend a lot more energy than able bodied people even when they’re just walking. This must be burning mad calories
I swear their forearms gotta be as big as a gorilla with all that going on
IBRAHIMOVIC
Bro, go watch “Free Solo”.
That’s core strength endurance.
Gotta give it up to these guys, but not quite as mid boggling as free climbing El Capitan.

It's so much harder to swing a tennis racket sitting down. You can't pivot your weight it's all upper body
I was just about to say what if a person trained this way but could walk? They would have unstoppable stamina and upper body strength
I just want to yell and cheer them on. This looks sooo intense. From start to finish I’d be on the edge of my seat.

Man watching this makes me emotional. I feel so grateful for everything I take for granted but it actually make me very lucky to have.
I have never been more invested into a tennis match I'm my entire existence. Unbelievable athleticism gentlemen
Allowing them to have 2 bounces is the perfect addition to make this possible and enjoyable for the players and viewers imo
Thanks, I was wondering what was going on! LOL
Its a handicap
@@LeoKinhg Only the first bounce matters for that, you have 2 bounces to return the ball
@@bonez815 It's not just a handicap. If it was, they wouldn't keep the two bounce rule when playing wheelchair tennis with each other. Given how much harder it is to move in a wheelchair, the game just works a lot better with everyone having two bounces.
Otherwise, dropshots and lobs would be too overpowered.

Same. I wish the stands were full of supporters. But idk if this is an event or a smaller club/group.
Always had a respect for the game but this is a whole nother level. Inspiring!
the problem is that i have never seen a wheelchair match broadcasted live anywhere.. you also cannot bet on these kind of matches so it doesnt have live streams on betting platforms nor do they have stats or scores of these matches
I was surprised, thought they’d be better, but now pretty sure I could beat any of them
@@JWD56 get into a wheelchair and try it, novak wasnt able to do it

Ys.. I was looking for that comment
first time seeing wheelchair tennis - I was like 'how tf are they fast enough to get it going', but then I've noticed two bounces are allowed. Makes a lot of sense.
Also you only score if the ball goes completely out of play not if it goes out of bounds which is cool imo
Kinda makes it longer than it has to be for me I have trouble telling when they actually get a point

Based on the stands I'm guessing this one clip has reached more eyes than all other wheelchair tennis matches ever played put together. And it's a shame cause this was actually really cool, especially the strategy of having to position yourself where the next shot will be before they even hit it
Wheelchair tennis just blows my mind, you need to not only direct the ball, but also your chair, building momentum trying to get to the ball, plus it seems so much more tactical, I have mad respect for anyone who plays it!

This has got to be one of the greatest feats of athleticism I’ve ever seen. The body control and coordination they have to move and twist they do is incredible
It’s not the physical coordination that’s impressive it’s the positioning of each player that has to be perfect due to the limited mobility from their wheelchairs. As well as the team coordination as well
Super impressive. The amount of precision and coordination these guys have is on a totally different level. They are almost super human.
Honestly, they have to plan when and where do they turn because constantly moving is the best strategy, they do it quickly and also hit with their hands as well as move with them. Very hard work!

Not everyone knows this but regular athletes use their feet to generate power at any point in their bodies. Be it in the arms, legs, back, torso, you name it. Having strong arms like these amazing people here without the aid of generating power thru the ground is not something anyone could do
Hitting from a wheelchair isn't actually that hard. I had a highschool teammate who was in a wheelchair and he brought a back-up for us to try once. All the top players on the team could easily beat him because our ground strokes and serves translated pretty well and every point starts with a serve or return. It's the movement that we were all hopeless at and which is so impressive in this point.
